The DVD cover art looks nice but I think I'll skip and wait for the ultimate edition that eventually will appear (same with the first movie).
Note that there will also be a box of all three films (probably some new extra's as well) after the cinema release of the third film.

The DVD is really really good.  I'd read a review before I got it that complained all the features were very dumb and just advertised the attraction, but that's definitely not the case.

There's a nice 60 minute documentary following the crew around the various shooting locations, plus a 15 minute look at all the planning they did to allow it to happen.  I have to say, I appreciate the film a LOT more after watching that, I don't think people realised beneath all the campaigns and merchandise and so on what an incredible feat it was.  And it's also funny to see how the writers literally left it to the last minute to write the script..

Various effects (Davy Jones, the Kraken) get their own featurette, and there's also a 15 minute (I think) look at the refresh of the US rides, which is surprisingly good too.  I'd seen some of the footage before, but it was cool to get another look at the Imagineering workshop (the place in the background of that Crush's Coaster model!).

Anyway, I'd give it about 8 or 9/10.  I preferred it to the first DVD.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has sailed into the record books by becoming the fastest-selling DVD ever in the UK. Since it went on sale on November 20, it has sold 1.5m copies - accounting for one in every four DVD sales in the country. Demand has been so great that the film's producer, Disney, has ordered an extra million discs from its plant in Mexico. The previous record-holder for weekly DVD sales was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, with 1.4m copies.

Nice to hear that the film is so popular in the UK :) Here it'll be released on Dec 7th.
But I know I'll wait until it costs a bit less, like I did with the first part ;)

I watched the Imagineers special, the Red Carpet show at Disneyland and the Davy Jones effects today. They're both great, but they could have cut of the "Buy or rent now POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl now" at the end of each special...
