I've been browsing ticket prices on the website and it says entrance is subject to Disney Parks capacity.

It got me thinking, does anyone know what the capacity is and has it ever been reached?

There were a couple of days last summer I think when the park got too full - maybe Bastille Day or a really hot weekend. I'm sure someone else will jump in with the specifics. But yes, the park has reached capacity.

I know it's over 50,000 as that's the average number of visitors per day at Disneyland Park in Paris. The Magic Kingdom which is actually smaller has a capacity of 100,000 although they'll close the parking lots there are 75,000 guests. So I think it's safe to assume somewhere between 50,000-80,000 guests.

Yes, if they decided to close the car park or even stop selling tickets, hotel guest are always allowed to go into the park. When they do start to reach capacity first they close the car park, then they stop selling tickets and then they turn away anyone who have non-dated tickets. It doesn't really happen that often.

Would they really close the parking lot? It would make more sense to keep it open, charge a lower price and send the guests to WDS.

Thank you for the link, very interesting. It must horrendous at full capacity, we were there on a very hot Bastille Day in 2009 and it was so busy we didn't bother with many rides.

Yes I've seen it a few time. Normally if the main park is busy wds isn't far behind, so that doesn't work either. To be honest whenever the parks are like that it really is best to turn around and drive the other way.

My family usually go every year for New Year at the Sequoya, but, a couple of years ago, I went near the end of the summer and I was surprised at how less busy it was!

It would be interesting if we had any statistics on what days the park usually reaches the very peak occupancy.

Well every year there is always 24th-25th Dec, 31st dec- 1st jan and a few dates around that. When they normally always shut the car park early. These last two weeks they have been very close to shutting too.
Like Mrs Pirate said, Bastile day always has a good chance of closing by 13h00.
To be honest, I think mostly in summer it comes as a surprise to Disney. Sometimes when they think it's not really going to be busy, suddenly the weather is beautiful, the kids are asking to go, there is nothing on tv... etc and like magic the whole of France turns up!
I think it's the unexpected locals that make all of the difference because there are a lot of interesting secret reasons to how they always try to plan when and when not to be busy....

Well actually the park capacity is 64,000 and when there on 27th Dec 16 there was 36,000 that day according to a reliable cast member and that was manic enough.
