So we finally made the decision on what dates to go after the very generous offer from Disneyland of a free 3 night stay.

We're going 11th-14th May, and the 13th is our 10th wedding anniversary 

We haven't told the kids yet (it is killing me keeping this a secret!) but we've booked the flights now and it's all confirmed.

Our flight out on 11th is super early (well, super early for my kids LOL) at 6:30am, so we'll be in the Parks by 10am or thereabouts. It's out first time visiting during Swing Into Spring so that will be lovely to see, hoping for some sunny days too as its always been Autumn and Winter when we've visited.

The plan for the first day, or in fact the whole holiday, is just to relax and enjoy ourselves. But we're thinking of doing California Grill for our evening meal on our Anniversary as a special splurge. If not I'll be happy in Ludwigs with their Risotto and Weisbier, and maybe a cheeky glowtini or two in the hotel bar.

I'm so excited, I'm really hoping I can keep it a secret until we leave, and then literally get the kids up super early (by having changed the times on their clocks heeheeheehee) and pretend we're off to school and that its a non-uniform day we'd all forgotten about, but oh what's this? We've driven past school, where are we going Mom? Teeeheeeheeeheee!

If I can hold it together until then it'll be a miracle.

Yay Seraphelle, that will be amazing! Especially if you haven't been during Swing Into Spring before, it's such a lovely time to vist! And are you staying at the Seqoia? Thats the Disney hotel I'd most like to stay in, sounds so idyllic. It's hard not telling the kids but will be worth it to see their completely surprised and happy little faces

Have an amazing time!

I always remember being in Luton airport about 12 years ago, and overhearing a mum and dad telling their 6 year old that they were not flying to visit grannie in Scotland but were actually going to Disneyland Paris.  The excitement in that little boys face was just amazing.   

Unfortunately I don't think I would have the willpower to not tell my son we were going ha ha!

The hotel will be lush at that time of year! And resist telling the kids, it'll be worth it in the end! Makes it dead funny as well when you're trying to hide any new Disney clothes etc from them    We never ever tell my little brother until we wake him up in the morning!

I very nearly told my youngest last night as she had a nightmare and was very upset for a while, it took me ages to calm her down and I almost told her to cheer her up, but I managed to placate her with a quick read of the Gruffalo's child

It's very different for us though as he has severe global learning difficulties so doesn't understand the concept of time really. I could tell him we were going to Disneyland in 1 week and he'd think a week had passed 5 minutes later. He asks to go to Disneyland many, many times a day so we just keep saying no until it's literally time to go! I can understand how tempting it must be to tell typical children though, must be so so cute seeing them plan what they want to do and in what order!

I'm also there on those days, I fly out on the 9th for my 25th birthday so I may see you around!

Ahhh I see, understandable then. I'm desperate to tell them. The last time we went we told them at 40 days away because I couldn't hold it in any longer and wanted them to share the build up with me. I'm worse than the kids, I'm sure!

Ohana I saw that you will be there the same time as us (again). Great minds think alike

We've had to alter our dates a little, sadly, so will now be going 15th-18th May. My eldest daughter has assessments at school the week we originally wanted to go, so we've pushed it back a few days.

Also, I caved and told them 

They saw me discussing it with their Headteacher (who is brilliant and has agreed the days so we won't be fined) and knew something was going on so we told them. They're a bit excited  and the squeals when we said the Sequoia was lovely!

93 days to go.

i know how hard it is not to tell the kids we booked our trip in september and gave it to the girls as their christmas present by printing 2 tshirts with the eifle tower and mickey and minnie on it! i think they were so shocked that we had done it that they didnt actually believe it was realy, but boy was it a relief to be able to talk to them about it! now we only have 12 more sleeps!!!"

It's so lovely to share the build up, I just couldn't keep it to myself. It'll be watching youtube videos of Dreams now with our light ears on in a dark room and a Disney film a day

I'm keeping my trip in March a surprise from my Mum which is even worse! How I've stayed quiet since October I will never know. Deciding how to do the reveal as once we get to London St Pancras it will be a bit obvious!!!
