Good morning! ;D

A couple of days ago, I posted a question regarding rooms at Sequoia Lodge (found here: https://forum.dlpguide.com/index.php?topic=18600.0). After reading over the great advice I received, my fiancee and I decided to book a Montana room with a lake view. As we looked over some images and reviews, we heard more and more about the Golden Forest rooms. Until this point, its not something I would have considered. I found some images of the room and must say I was taken aback. The room looks great! My fiancee also liked the idea of having a quieter breakfast room as opposed to the Hunter's Grill.

My question is, is it worth upgrading from a Montana room with Lake View to a Golden Forest room? We are staying for 5 nights in November. The cost to upgrade is £84, or £16.80 per night. Is the extra cost worth it in terms of what we would get for staying in a club room? Also, does anyone know what it means by "Disney Hotel Fastpass"? I assume this is different to normal fastpass somehow as it's only available to Golden Forest rooms?

The images I looked at can be found below. The uploader says they were taken in 2014, which I believe to be after the latest refurb (meaning that the images reflect the current layout of the rooms if you will?) I noticed also that the images show a king size bed rather then two double beds. This would suit my fiancee and I better then two double beds but I can't find any information relating to a king size bed in the Golden Forest rooms; only two beds. Is anyone able to shed any light on this?

All those pictures are part of the same album, however I picked a handful out that reflect a "selling point" for us.

Have a disney-riffic day!

Go for it.

It's worth it for the free drinks and civilised 'hot' breakfast. There are a few more bits extra as well.

Always enjoyed SL but the Golden Forest gives you a bit extra and would always go for that option now. Don't go for a view room in November though as it will be dark most of the time.

The Fastpass will give you one fastpass ride per day without having to get a time slot ticket from a machine.

Ceh

Definitely do it! The breakfast alone is worth it. The fastpasses are great as well. And if you take a few cans out of the lounge everyday you already make up for the £16.80/day.

last time we went there were some Montana king rooms in the main building
so if its the king bed you want you can request it
we were a bit taken aback as there were three of us (2 adults and 1 child) so surprised to get a king room (think they expected us all to sleep in the same bed!) and we had to get them to bring a rollaway bed for our DS

Golden Forest won't guarantee a king room, but again I would think you can request, but the other benefits e.g. breakfast, snacks and drinks are probably worth it

Thank you all for your help and advice :D

What are the opening hours of the private lounge for free hot and soft drinks?
The question is about end of November - early December.

Thank you for you replies!

I was also wondering if the difference between classic and gokden forest is worth it. It seems a lot more but im tempted.

GFC is a wonderful thing, though I will have to say that a few tings are already getting loose, not working etc. What I do not really understand is why they didn't add new windows while they were doing refurbishments. The windows are unfortunately poorly insulated, which is not only an economic, bu also a financial loss when heat escapes through the windows

If it's going to be a busy time in Disney then I would say the upgrade is worth it for the fastpass (Ratatouille is the best use of this in my opinion). Personally the lounge wouldn't appeal to me as we never went back to the hotel room during the day or evening.

I didn't miss the hot breakfast when I stayed but at £84 I think I would upgrade as that's crazy cheap!!!!
