Find this all very confusing.. But its not quite free as weighing up the two offers it amounts to £200 in difference for 2 adults and 2 children. So if I went with the Cheyenne for example (it just says includes free half board) where Cant I eat? We like king ludwigs it's our fav we could miss planet Hollywood but I don't think king ludwigs  ;D

Mileto

You may not use the vouchers in Planet Hollywood and King Ludwig's.

It pretty much says the same thing that the UK/French one did at the time - 25% off, plus park tickets for your entire stay, plus free children under 7 I think it was and free half board.

This is a handy site for letting you know which hotels afford you which free meal plan.  So whatever hotel you book on the site will give you access to the relevant restaurants throughout your stay.

When the offer is for free half board is that just hotel or standard half board that you'd be looking at in the meal plans page?

I was very pleasantly surprised as I didn't realise at first - the half board plan on offer depends on the hotel.  Santa Fe and Cheyenne are Standard I believe - we booked the Newport which was Half Board plus (as would be Sequoia), which was such a bonus when we found out that we could eat pretty much all over in the park going in this direction.  We are there for 6 nights over the Christmas week, so it was quite important for us when we balanced the options as it will make it a really lovely Christmas break for us.

We were going to go to the Explorers Hotel - £600 for 4 of us for B&B for 6 nights.  Great bargain.  Park tickets say £4/£500 = £1100 or so for the hotel and park tickets.

Then we saw this offer on the Dutch site and looking at the Santa Fe it worked out at £1500 for 4 of us for the 6 nights to include full entrance and half board - so only £300 ish extra to stay on park and have half board.  But then my hubby in a moment of madness suggested we look at Newport and this worked out at £1800 for the half board offer.  So we've gone from staying at Explorers to being on park with 6 meals at different restaurants all booked for and planned out.  As it is Christmas we thought it was worth it.  Luckily we'd booked the Explorers in such a way that it cost us nothing to cancel even though we'd prepaid it x

Thanks Mileto!  We can't wait - we are all very excited now and are ticking off the weeks!  Christmas is my favourite time of year - the Newport looks gorgeous! It looks like a fab place to spend the week and I've certainly got the Disney Bug now!

It is also a celebration of our 10th Wedding Anniversary and 24 years of being together.   :D

The only two places you can't use your vouchers are planet Hollywood and rainforest cafe.  Even if you went to a buffet and only posted for yourself over three meals that's still about Ninety euros saved.  If go for the free half board

That isn't correct. They are also not valid in Starbucks, McDonald's, or King Ludwig's.

I stand corrected.  Although I'm not sure why anyone would try to use a half board standard meal voucher  worth around 27euros in Starbucks :-\

littlebitofpixiedust

I think there's probably some crazy person who tried using in Starbucks  ::) I wouldn't of even considered McDs/Starbucks would be able to use.

Though I still am undecided if we go with HB it'd probably have to be Cheyenne as it's more with Meals than not so your able to have buffet only unless sequoia or higher hotels you get more choices. For people like myself it'd be helpful of Disney to tell you on the "offers" which restaurants you can/can't eat on the website.

We are quite clued up on DLP but this half board plan is another kettle of fish entirely if it weren't for you guys I'd of assumed I could eat a set meal/buffet across the parks wherever grade hotel lol I'm glad for your help! Thanks

At Cheyenne you can use your voucher at Cheyenne a own,  the one in the Santa fe, Billy Bob's,  plaza gardens, agrabah and the restaurant des stars in the studios.  You can also use at face value and pay the extra in any other restaurant.  If you check dlp guide (link at top of page) their dining section is really useful and clear xx

It's a shame that the vouchers are not used in the same way as WDW. In Florida the vouchers can be used at Planet Hollywood and Rain Forrest. In fact I think that all restaurants take the vouchers in the Disney Village.
