Hi can anyone advise on the best route to DLP from Chanel tunnel and also regarding the tolls? Thank you :)

Hi,

The shortest and quickest route is A26 & A1.  Can't remember what the tolls are, as we have a Sanef Tag so it just gets debited from our account.

You can also take the A16 down the coast; I think the toll cost is equivalent, although the journey is slightly longer (but not too much).

That's great thank you, am I right in thinking is about 3 hours drive?

Mrsya

It was 3 hours down the A1 for us but that was a Sunday afternoon. We didn't see another car for about 60 miles on the toll road! Think it cost us €22 each way... Don't quote me on that though as I may have plucked that figure out of fresh air...

I read somewhere that avoiding the toll road adds 90 mins onto journey so worth the money in my eyes. If its your first time, have clear in your head which road number and direction you need when you leave tunnel as there are no Mickey signs like we expected and it got very fraught in our car for about 5 mins...

We paid €21.70 in tolls a couple of weeks ago. That was A26, A1.

Great thank you, brilliant to know about the tolls, and routes, thank you everyone.x :D

There is a website for calculating tolls - this link may or may naot appear, depending on forum restrictions -

I thought that the day of travel and possibly time of travel affected the charges, but that doesn't seem to be the case looking at this website.

When driving to DLP, we usually stop at the IKEA on the route for a coffee and a bite to eat and to use their facilities. It also passes the time if we are too early to check in to our hotel.

Its on the junction of the A1 and the A104, so you can continue on the A104 / A4  to DLP. Its about a 30 minute drive to DLP. Keep your eyes open on the LH side of the road after you've gone past CDG airport. There is a Castorama and IKEA next to each other, so look for two big blue buildings.

It's a very easy drive have done this journey on 6 occasions after. CDG just look out for the Micky mouse signs just watch the A104 to. A4 junction it's  a little awkward

That's great to know, thanks to everyone for the tips and advice, makes it so much less daunting! :D :D
