I have just booked Christmas Brunch on Christmas Day and I thought it might be useful to post all the meal information.All prices are in Euros

Merry Christmas Brunch
Manhattan Restaurant Hotel New York
Christmas Day 2013

We arrive into Hotel New York at 11.30am. There are two signs for Christmas Brunch, The Grand Ballroom and Manhattan Restaurant.  Our reservation is for Manhattan so we follow the signs down to the restaurant. At the host stand, they check our reservation and bring us to our table.  It's a small restaurant and we are lucky that our table is at the top end , near the buffet, not at the back by the windows.




As we take our seats we see Minnie Mouse at the tables near the window. We sit down and take it all in. Our waiter comes over and we order a glass of Champagne each, which is included in the meal. Any other drinks, both alcohol and soft drinks are extra.

Ok so onto the most important part, the food. The main course was in the middle, the ends were starters and the dessert table with a cheese selection was separate.

The first section was a fish section

Langoustines and Prawns
Smoked Salmon
Flaked Crab

The second section
Goats Cheese Mousse
Avocado and Prawn Mousse
Salmon Roe Salad
Selection of bread and Bellini pancakes

The third section
Soup
Serrano Ham
Christmas Asparagus and sundried tomatoes
2 types of Fois Gras with pear chutney
Mixed leaf salad with truffle vinaigrette

Main Course
Truffled white pudding with honey glazed apples
Stuffed capon fondant with chestnuts and porcine mushrooms
Seafood stew with baby vegetables and lobster sauce
Roast loin of veal with morel mushroom jus and potato gratin
Stuffed pasta with creamy parmesan sauce
Scallops with crayfish and a Champagne Beurre Blanc sauce
Panfried medallions of lamb with thyme and a vegetable gratin
Sauteed winter vegetables with chanterelle mushrooms

We take our time and have a taste of everything. The atmosphere is very festive, lots of families and the staff are very helpful and welcoming.

As we sit down with our first course Minnie comes to our table and we get our photo taken with her.  She leaves through a door near the food section and suddenly we realise that our table is in a very good position. All the characters come and go from this area. They come into the restaurant and stay mainly in the space between the food and tables.   They spent about 20 minutes at a time in the restaurant, sometimes just at the top near the food, sometimes going from table to table. We see Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, Goofey , Chip and Dale.




I take some photos but most of the time I just watch all the children with the characters. We take our time, just enjoying the atmosphere. Even though it's a buffet, there is only so much food you can eat! We eventually leave just after 2pm.

The price for the meal was €69 for adults and €29 for children. We booked and paid for the meal in advance with our travel agent. When we checked into our hotel on our first day we were given a meal voucher. We then had to confirm our brunch reservation at a table across from the hotel reception. They had a list of everyone who had pre booked the special Christmas meals and they ticked us off on their list.

For the quality of the food, the restaurant atmosphere and the characters I would defiantly recommend this .

From what I can remember, the children did not have any separate food. All the children there either went up on their own to the buffet or were with an adult. We were two adults with no children so other than observing the children at nearby tables eating the buffet food, we did not enquire about a separate children's menu.
