You are "sponsored" by an annual pass holder - you get 10% discount off your pass and for every three people they sponsor they get a years extension on their pass.

The pass holder has to have held their pass for a certain amount of time (1 month I think) and the person buying the pass can't have held one for a certain amount of time (1 year I think).
Both the buyer and sponsor have to be at the passport bureau at the same time.

Correct, except you can't have had a passport for 2 years ^^. One annual pass holder can sponsor three people after one month. Every person you sponsor gets 10% discount on their annual pass (so Dream become 209 - 10% = 188,1 euros). For every person an annual pass holder gets one stamp and with three stamps you can get a year extension for free (the next year you'll have to pay for it again, but you can get 6 months bonus for the same price).

For people who are looking for discount on their annual pass, I will be in Disneyland on September 30th and October 6th  .

Can anyone explain how the process of sponsoring works?

We've always bought our temporary annual passes on the way in to the park, then collected the permanent passes in the passport office.

At what point would the sponsor need to be involved? We've seen them waiting outside the passport office, but surely by then the buyer has already paid full price?
Does the sponsor have to meet them outside the park while they pay and then accompany them to the passport office while the collect their permanent passes?

The sponsor goes inside the passport office with you. Inside the office the sponsor provides the discount by showing his annual passport and you get your annual passport after filling out some information and have your picture taken. So you meet after the ones who want the new annual passport bought their daily ticket and then you go to the passport office (where the price of the daily ticket is deducted from the total price).

OK. We've always bought our AP outright at the gate, rather than a daily ticket and have it upgraded to an AP at the passport office.

I do apologise if this has been answered but the amount of information about passes is a little confusing at times.

I've finally talked my boyfriend into getting a Dreams pass. I've had a Dreams pass for almost two years now and gather I can sponsor him, I'm just a little unsure about how to go about it. I've always bought mine at the gate then entered the park to the passport office, would I do the same for him and show my pass to get the discount? I've previously read something about filling a form in?

That probably sounds like a jumble of questions but if someone could help me out I'd be mega grateful!!

Please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
Assuming Bureau Donald is closed (it always is!)
Your boyfriend buys a day ticket on the gate.
You fill in the sponsorship form.
You both go to the passport office.
He pays the difference between the day ticket he bought and a Dream Pass, less the sponsorship discount.

If you can find two other people to sponsor, then you get an extra 12 months on your pass.
