Getting from dlp to paris without public transport. Please help

I'm off to dlp soon and would love to go into paris one of the days. I have severe phobias of enclosed transport so I cannot go on the train or coach ( I see there is a coach trip that leaves dlp). I will have my car so driving will be the only way but I've heard it's a nightmare to drive to paris.  Has anyone done it?  I can go on an open top bus, wish there was one of those from dlp to paris.

You can drive but, I really hope this doesn't put you off, the traffic is as bad as it is made out to be, it could take a good few hours to get into Paris itself.
