We are heading to DLP next week with a 4yo and 6 yo. We normally eat between 5 and 7, but I'm concerned that the restaurants may not open till 6  which might not give us time to see the parade. Can anyone advise what the restaurant opening times are and can anyone tell us their experience of feeding young children but still seeing the parade, what time did you find best? We're there for 4 nights and have picked Café Mickey, Hunter's Grill and Cape Cod as restaurants so far.
Also is it best to book now or wait till we get there?

Thanks

Marie

Ive beein hearing lots about the restaurants closing early because of parades this summer.  But the restaurants in the village like Cafe Mickey shouldnt be affected.  Id give yourself at least one night to see the parade and I wouldnt book anything for that night then your under no pressure. The other nights yu could book dinner times at your pleasure.

If you want specific restaurants at specific days/times its probably best to book in advance but always re check your resrvations once you arrive at DLP.

Youll possibly find that restaurants will be quiter during parade times cos everyones off watching the parade.

the restaurants you have picked for dinner do not open until 6pm (well, Cafe Mickey does, but doesn't have any characters there between 3pm and 6pm). You won't have time to eat in either the Cape Cod or Hunters Grill and make it into the park for the parade at 7pm. And you won't have time to enjoy the characters and the food at Cafe Mickey and make it back to the park for the parade either. So your choices are, you either miss the parade on some of your evenings, or change your main meal to lunchtime (so you could eat at Cafe Mickey for lunch instead of dinner and have the character interaction then). You won't be able to do Cape Cod or Hunters Grill for lunch though. But there are other options for sit-down meals at lunchtime in the parks and in the village.

We're planning on having a meal one evening in Walt's to celebrate both my birthday (belated) and our anniversary (slightly in advance). Is it right that Walt's has views of the parade?

If so is it possible to book a place to see it, or can everywhere see it? Also what time is the evening parade on?

Thanks

The parade starts in Fantasy land at 19.00 this summer.  We have eaten here and had a table by the window but not asked for it specially would advise you reserve table early for later in the day - we were there last week and it was busy and fully booked early but we had no problem as we eat early (18.00) it seemed to get busy later with queues outside all restaurants.
