So what was the problem with the floor?

The floor outside the Studios is horrific, yet they leave that for years and years?

If I remember correctly last February the floor already had many holes. So I think there are more now and it is necessary now.

Do you mean the floor in front of Studio 1? The red tiles were already broken last year. Disney didn't fix them until today? That's really bad.

I think the potholes are getting so bad here that it's shaking the parade floats to bits

The floor outside the turnstiles to the Studios really is ridiculous though, I mean REALLY ridiculous.

Do we know how long the works are going on for?

I assume they are doing the whole area rather than patching up areas, which they have done previously overnight, with the relevant areas covered whilst it was setting.

At least the method they use for flooring is one of the quickest. Pattern imprint concrete is relatively quick.

One day, they will have to relay at least some of Main Street - that will be fun!

The old concrete around the two turrets has been removed:

Well Small World is closed until 28th Jan... that should give a rough idea (unless they are carrying out maintenance on Small world too)

Concrete has been dropped in favour of real paving!
Take a look at the new floor outside the Bureau Passeport Annuel:

I have to say that I like the new floor. Are you sure they used the stones for the whole Fantasyland Floor? I think, but I could be wrong, that the stones are just in the area of the Passport Center.

Hmmn, I hadn't thought of that.  :-k  This area outide the passport office was concrete before though, right?
I think they've realised that the floor on Main Street has lasted much better over the past 18 years than the concrete, so they might be thinking that this is a better long term solution?

I also think that such stones are the better solution. It seems they last longer. You just have to look at ancient Roman streets :D   . Main Street will still be there in 2000 years, while the rest is gone.

That's really great news. It's always positive to see Disney not only refurbishing Disneyland Park, but actually upgrading the quality of the materials used.

Why did they re-do that little floor area outside the passport office?
