Hi we go to dlrp in june me other half our dd1yr old and his 6yr old
But were now also considering a second dlrp for us 2 and dd sept/oct time

Im considering getting an ap while we are there in june
So now for my questions
1. Can we book room and breakfast only at a disney hotel
2. Can we get a meal plan with a hotel breakfast only deal
3. Can we book character meals on these bookings in advance as well
4. Or would we just be better pay as we go meal wise because of the ap discount

1. Yes, infact all Disney bookings are this.
2. Meal plan is an add-on and available to anyone staying onsite.
3. Yes, you don't even need to specify how your paying, this is open to anyone booking.
4. It's pretty much equal across the board. It's up to you, some people like knowing its all paid for in advance.

Call Disney Reservations and they'll give you a price you should also have an AP booking line.
