Did you do a lot of research about where to meet characters or did you just happen to be at the right places at the right moment?

Both - I've been a lot over the past 3 years and so I've just gained a lot of knowledge - but sometimes it is just luck. I've done a "Character Hunting Video" on my YT channel. Give tips about meeting them. =]
