Do You Tip In Disney Restaurants

We were in Blue Lagoon over Christmas and both the host who brought us to our table and our server were very helpful about my mums dietary requirements. Having worked in the catering industry I am always very observant of both good and bad service. I was wondering as many in Disney use prepaid meal vouchers for meals, do the servers get much tips? We paid cash and left a tip and the server seemed very surprised that we did. I just feel that good service should be acknowledged , no matter how the meal is paid for.

Most of the time I do give a tip at the restaurants. But it depends a lot of the service we get. Last time in the blue lagoon we had a wonderful waiter and a wonderful time so we gave a generous tip. the last time in the silver spur we had to wait for a very long time to get our meal, while it was really quiet. And when we asked why it took so long we got no real answer and no apologies. When we wanted to pay the waiter threw the check on the table and didn't return for about 15 minutes. At the end we just payed the exact amount and left in on the table.

for my next trip I have prepaid vouchers but if the service is good I will give the server something extra as a tip.

That's shocking bad service and I agree I would not have tipped either.
I was just curious about people who use the prepaid vouchers, as I wonder do many people feel that they have paid for their meal and that's that, no matter how great the service is.
Having worked as a server, I know that sometimes the quality of the service you get is a reflection on the behavior of the customer.  If a customer is rude or not acting appropriately, then the service may not be that good. Also I think attitudes to waiting staff vary from country to county.

Yes, I do tip, if the service was good. Just as I do at  any other restaurant outside Disney too.

If the service was good I tip. If it isn't I don't.
