The Butlin Boy

Seeing as the Muppets are still a big part of Disney's empire, I thought that we could do with a topic for all news and other stuff Muppet related :)

Disney's Muppet Studio has recently joined Twitter and YouTube, with a huge amount of hilarious and exclusive videos. Their latest hit is The Muppets: Bohemian Rhapsody... :P

Haha, they've smashed it again! The Muppets: Bohemian Rhapsody was a feature on the ITV news last night at 10:30 in the UK. Just goes to show what an impact they can still make today

Go Disney! Although they're going to win either way, with the X Factor single being a Miley Cyrus rip off...

Haha, I love it! :P

But seriously though, everyone on this forum needs to download this track a.s.a.p! Even if you're not in the UK, buying it through iTunes will still help (I think, don't quote me on that  ). This could be quite a big campaign, and we could really get the Muppets up there if we all spread the word. How fantastic would it be if the headlines say about how the Muppets shock the nation by beating off the X Factor

Do it for Disney and the Muppets, don't make them look like this this Christmas:

Not for the UK number 1 it won't.

They're never going to get to number 1 now. Such a shame too, why didn't Disney orchestrate this much earlier? Given the choice, people would be much more likely to buy this than that horrible Rage Against the Machine track, which as you probably heard is signed to Sony Records just the same as the X Factor people (do we call them artists?).

Not the greatest Bohemian Rhapsody fan anyway. This one really made me laugh:

Well you can all still buy it anyway :P

You never know; when I had a look at the iTunes singles chart earlier this afternoon, the Muppets were at 36 and Rage Against the Machine was at 2 after the X Factor. However, if you look now, you'll see the Muppets down to 27, and RAtM is actually 1st! After the Muppets at 28 is Miley Cyrus 'The Climb'

But if everyone on this forum from the UK downloads a copy of it, and tells their friends to (don't be ashamed, you'd be surprised how many people I've convinced today :P ), perhaps it could get into the top ten (or perhaps no.1 [-o< )

Oh, and by the way, there's a new video online to get us all in the festive mood :santa:

Sorry, but as much as I love Disney you're missing the point of the whole Rage Against the Machine Download campaign. People would not rather DL Muppets. For years the Xmas No.#1 was seen as a big deal in this country. It didn't matter if it was a cheesy novelity song (Bob the Builder) or a pop cover version of Elvis (Pet Shop Boys). The fact that recent years have been hijacked by the X-Factor has left a lot of people really angry, me included. It's bad enough that the music industry now only has 4 major labels, but the fact that a television show can brainwash millions of people into buying a particular song is the last straw.
Now I enjoy the X-Factor as much as anyone else. Why not release the song the week after Xmas ?? (hmm, I wonder why not).
Buying 'Killing in the Name of' is a deliberate, organised way of rebelling against the contrived, phoney music that the industry in thrusting down everyone throats.
Zack de la Rocha sang it best - 'We got to take the power back'

(P.S. Love the Muppets song, brilliant  :D/ )
