Hi

Just looking for some help!

I booked through Thomas Cook to travel 11th September 2017 for 4 nights and prepaid for the Disney Express service for the Eurostar. I still haven't received my Eurostar tickets so I was googling to find out when I would get them when I came across this on the Disneyland Paris website:

'The Disney Express Service is closed from 4th to 22nd September 2017 included.'

I booked the holiday back in February and haven't had any contact from Thomas Cook about this at all. After searching around, Magic Breaks have this on their website:

'Please note that from 4th - 22nd September 2017, the Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station will be undergoing maintenance and these works will have a direct impact on the Disney Express location. As a result, for safety and operational reasons, the Disney Express luggage service is no longer bookable for arrivals 4th - 22nd September 2017. Bookings made before 29th June 2017 will be honored and fulfilled by Disney'

Do you think this means I'll still receive this service? Has anyone else travelling at this time been notified at all and is the Disney Express service still included?

I've emailed Thomas Cook, but I'm really anxious as I don't want to have to cart our luggage along and lose valuable time in the parks :(

Thanks

Several years ago this happened to me. Disney still provided the service by having the luggage trollies in a different part of the station. We just couldn't use the Disney Express check in desk. It was a bit of a scramble but, as you say, we didn't waste any time getting into the park.

It's exactly as it states - they're not taking any more Disney Express bookings for that period but will honour those already booked. Obviously the fewer there are of these the easier for them hence why they've stopped taking bookings as soon as they knew the closure date.

The station is certainly undergoing a reasonable amount of work at the moment the DE area was looking quite industrial when I was there in July!

This was on Magic Breaks website not DLP about it being honoured. Working in the travel industry, I know its common for one supplier to say one thing, and another supplier to say another.

I have had clarification from Thomas Cook though who has called Disney and Disney have advised I will still have the service, thank god. Goodness knows how it'll all work this time though!

Hopefully they can make the whole station experience a bit better than the shambles it usually is. It's nothing to do with disney but it really let's the side down to have your last memory be of being cattled there.

Getting through security and onto the train at Ashford is straight forward and hassle free. The last 2 times we've come back the French end has been a bit of a shambles. Disney Express is never a problem but they never seem to have enough people on the ticket checking desks and hence the train leaves late because there's still huge queues of people waiting to be checked in and go through security at departure time.

Alas that's the French end of Eurostar and they don't seem to see the problem with it!

The last time I went, we were all cattled in to just past the security bit, but the stairs down were roped off and they wouldn't let anyone go down to use the loos or anything. It was horrible! I remember a lady saying 'I am pregnant, and if you don't let me go to the toilet, i will have to squat on the floor and pee, I cannot hold it' ... and this point security realised she was being deadly serious and escorted her down! I totally get it for security reasons with everything going on in the world but blooming heck!

It's disgraceful so hopefully the return make things better! And hopefully they'll provide more seating after security for families to sit down.
