Please can anyone explain the ins and outs of the new meal plans. I struggled to understand before the changes and now I'm totally confused!!
thinking of going x2 adults next March to Cheyenne, Newport bay or sequoia lodge! Not decided which yet! But would like to go full board.
Do the prices change if you upgrade your room to a golden Forrest for example and how do they split the vouchers!!

Please help! any information on the meal plans would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps I'm sure :) thank you

The only thing that has really changed is breakfast being added to the meal plan.
If you are in the Cheyenne you have standard meal plan unless you want to upgrade to plus or premium - more choices of restaurants. The Sequoia or Newport are plus meal plans or you can upgrade to premium. The price only changes if you up grade the meal plans or if upgrading rooms and having the plus meal plan it will be the room price that will change not the meal plan.
Full board gives you a breakfast voucher, a lunch time voucher & an evening meal voucher. All restaurants will be listed on the the vouchers that they can be used in.

If you update to a golden forest room the full board price drops!! This is because breakfast is still included with a golden forest room so you don't have to pay for the breakfast part of the vouchers.

Everything about the meal plans is covered on this briljant site http://www.dlpguide.com/planning/dining/meal-plans/

to summerize it:
you get 1 voucher and a breakfast voucher per night for half board and 2 vouchers and a breakfast voucher per night for full board
Plus vouchers are worth 35 euro each. premium vouchers are worth 59 euro each. (I am not sure if this is still true since the prices have changed since they added a breakfast voucher, but it shouldn't be a big difference).
You can use your breakfast voucher at your hotel only! or if you book it at the reception or by phone for breakfast at plaza garden for an additional cost. if you decide to update to a golden forest room you wont get any breakfast vouchers since breakfast is included with the room.

the diner/lunch voucher are valuable at a selection of restaurants (more info on the website). With the plus meal plan you can eat at a buffet and get a free drink, or choose from a set menu and get a free drink
With the premium vouchers you can still eat at a buffet (Inventions!!) and get a free drink. or eat a three coarse meal a la cart from selected restaurants and get a free drink. With some restaurants (Walt's for example) you still have to choose from a set menu. What food you are aloud to choose is shown by a plus or premium icon on the menu.

When you don't like the set menu or want to eat at a different restaurant (You cant use your vouchers at planet Hollywood, king Ludwigs, rain forest cafe and  earl of sandwich) you can use your vouchers as money. At that moment they are worth 35/59 euro's. when you do choice from the set menu  (indicated with the logo) at the right restaurant you have a big chance your diner will be more expensive than 35 euro's but you won't have to pay the difference. this difference is seen as the savings you will make by booking a meal plan.

I am pretty sure  there is no afternoon tea voucher anymore :'(

Remember you only get vouchers for every night of your stay, So there will always be one day where you still have to buy lunch or/and diner. The voucher ar not dated, and there is no difference between lunch or dinner vouchers. So you can decide to not use a lunch voucher one day, and use it for dinner an other day.

Sorry for my bad english, but I hope this answers your questions.

I think the vouchers are more now as they cost more to buy but can't find a difinitive answer anywhere.
They still do the afternoon treat - soft drink or coffee plus a cookie or similar which is available between 3-6pm. Nice little snack to keep you going until dinner 😜
