Does anyone have experience of taking young kids on this ride or know of the minimum age guideline?

All I can find is the height restriction but as my boys are really tall for their ages it's very likely that on our visit next year they will both meet this (they will be age 3 and 14months).

Is it suitable or are they too young?

Never been on this so hard to judge...

Thanks in advance!

I took my daughter on it in January, she was 1year and 8 months and she really enjoyed it. Its not a fast ride but obviously it does go quite high and it does make your belly drop. Maybe if there's anyway you cam try it before you take your boys on it then you would be able to judge whether you think they would like it or not. My little girl didnt like the ratatouille ride when we went as I think the visual feeling of falling freaked her out a little yet she loved pirates of the Caribbean  ;D I went with the intention of trying everything with her she could go on as you never know what they will like til you get on, yet I didn't want to be the parent with the upset child on a ride lol

Hi thanks for sharing your experience. I have been watching the on ride videos on YouTube too. It does look like it goes high! But as you say not too quick.

I think I'll just take my eldest on and then see what I think for the youngest. He may be a bit little for something like that at only 1 and 2 months.

Can anyone tell me how it fastens you in? Worried about my little wriggler. ..

The kids have a strap that comes up in between there legs and the main seat belt slips through it so theres no way they could fall out. Then a bar is lowered down over you all and the CMs go around and check that everyone is fastened in properly.

When I went on in the summer there was a baby in the parachute opposite who looked around 14/16 months and didn't seem upset by it at all.

I'm also terrified of heights but found the ride very manageable and I only got the tiniest sensation in my stomach going up. I think your oldest would be fine and then personal preference with her younger but the straps are fantastic and very secure.

Thank you for the information. I am excited about going on everything we can as a whole family so am hoping we can all do this ride together. You've given me hope that this one's a possibility.

I was quite surprised that it has such a low height restriction given it looks so huge. Then again there's a few like that - I'm surprised that my son (at 3) will be able to go on Big Thunder and Star Tours!

Obviously will see how they are on the smaller stuff first and build up to them. If they don't get on them this time round it's always an excuse for another visit. Haha

Havent done the parachute drop with my grandkids yet. Will see if they want too next month after reading this thread. They are 5 and 3. I did accidently take my granddaughter on big thunder last year when she was 4. Was looking for the train that went round the park lol. Wondered why we were getting looks in the queue. She's quite an anxious child so wouldnt have taken her on this in a million years. She was a bit wobbly legged when we got off but survived. We still laugh about it and i did by her the pin badge "I've been on thunder mountain" which she is proud of but doesnt want to go on again

jacmurphy that made me giggle. I can't imagine the shock of the wildest ride in the west when expecting a quiet train journey. I am guessing when she is older and probably starts to love big thunder she will tell everyone "I've been going on this since I was 4".

I am in two minds about taking my son on at 3. He loves going fast. At age 1 he was giggling his head off when case junior went quick. At the same time it's a massive ride and I think he would get scared at the noises and especially the dark tunnel so maybe next time. Plan to keep going every couple of years if possible!
