Hi Everyone,

Looking for reasonably priced places for lunch with husband & 4yr old.  Quite happy with the burger/nuggets/chips type of food and have read that this place is nice and usually pretty quiet.  Was wondering though if anyone knew what time of day the live band plays?

The food is good and so is the atmosphere!
The band does not play everyday, but if they are playing they play several sets around the lunchtime session. When I was there in December they appeared about 12.30. for 15 minutes or so, other times I have been there and they have not appeared at all!
Try the ribs with barbeque sauce, delicious.

I agree 100% with Captain Rocket - the ribs are delicious and really filling. I have never seen the band though  :'( It is a great place to chill out as it is never rammed and if it's cold out, the fire in there will warm you right up. Love it!

Is it still a character meals only place though?
I used to go to Cowboy Cookout all the time before they turned it into a character meal place and absolutely loved it.
If its gone back to a normal restaurant I definitely want to go back there :)

I've never seen any characters when I've been! Only Minnie hanging around outside when it was Christmas season  ;)

We ate at Cowboy Cookout last year for the first time and LOVED it!  I think it used to be table service but now it is counter service, and the service was the best I've experienced in the DLP restaurants (worlds away from Videopolis...), and the food was worth writing home about!  ;D

No character meals there now - they stopped that quite a while ago.

I really like Cowboy Cookout - great theming and the food's pretty good.

Yes! Awesome news! I shall be eating there then next trip!

The character meals stopped in November 2012, the food is lovely there and like the others say, usually quiet  :D

Thanks everyone.  Definitely on our list now.  Strangely though I've checked for the dates we're going and it's only open until 5pm, where everything else is 7pm or 7.30pm.  We'll have to go for lunch instead of Dinner.

Cheers +
