Newport Bay Club Lighthouse

Does anybody know, if the lighthouse refurbishments are almost finished and if not how long it will take? Would be nice to see the lighthouse in fresh and birght colours;)

No, it is not yet finished. Work is still going on and scaffolding is up. Looks like it will take some more time. But at least the light in the lighthouse is working again!

Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to ask...but does anybody know when/if the Newport bay hotel will be refurbished? Its good to see the lighthouse getting such good attention and I would love to stay at NPB but the reviews I've seen recebtly suggest the rooms need a little TLC.

I'm sure they will do one day in the future, but it won't be any time soon. They've only announced plans to refurbish the rooms in the Sequoia. There's been no word on the other hotels.

Thanks for the reply Meph :] I guess we'll be giving the NPB a miss then, maybe just book a meal at the Yacht Club instead as it's still on our list of "must trys".

too bad...i´m going on sunday and i think it won´t be better till then...and Walts and Gibson Girl on mainstreet are still covered too...

Well, don't you prefer refurbishments to decaying buildings? I know it's annyoing to see so many buildings with scaffoldings at the moment, but if you just think about the state of the rotting Pirate Ship, I totally welcome all these refurbishments...So stop complaining

The lighthouse is still under wraps, but work was going ahead this weekend, so maybe it will be back to its full glory soon.

Finally!! Thanks for the update, MrsPirate. Hopefully now the light will be working for a long time. I was so disappointed each stay when it didn't work.

When was it working last before the refurb? Because in october I was really surprised to see a light up in the lighthouse, I couldn't remember of seeing it ever before...
