The recent Backstage Magazine showed a picture of a re-worked Autopia car with a hybrid motor.  According to the caption, these hybrid engines will graduately replace the current petrol powered engines.  :)

Not only some visible refurbishments at DLP! Good to hear they're adding hybrid motors to the cars :D

Now that is cool, and something old school Disney. Any idea on timelines?

Are the new hybrid motors coming with a new sponsor for Autopia?

I suppose the reason why Ford was no longer suitable is because of this switch!?

Quote from: "montaguewarner"I suppose the reason why Ford was no longer suitable is because of this switch!?

Ford builds also hybrid motors. At least the new New York Taxi Cabs made by Ford use hybrid motors. So that can't be the reason. I think they just had a contract for one or two years and now it expired.

That is great news.

I just can't breathe around Autopia and didn't like my kids having to inhale the rubbish coming out of the cars.

now they may see less breakdowns maybe.

I think Autopia is great attaction, only problem with it is the quing to get on the ride as well as it being petrol cars, with it going green is a very big welcome, and if they can get the issue of the long q's sorted it will be much better, when I was there there was quite a big q but not the full of the attaction was being used as they do have quite a few loading area's but only 1 was being used!
