You are all right about the French name! I think it is more because it was there before the theming that it made me question! All said and done, looking at the sign, as pointed out it looks like a French restaurant in Hollywood if that makes sense

You know what, I stand totaly corrected, after seeing those new photos against a blue sky, the terracotta of the walls and the highlighting of the new signs matching the lamposts....

Totaly fantastic!

I already found out a few days ago... didn't want to mention it.

Complete disappointment. Huge mistake they'll live to regret. They were building this from scratch - a flat bit of land! How expensive would an extra layer of concrete have been? It just looks stupid all flat like that. It works in Disney Studio 1, but not here. It's a filmset, sure, but filmsets have curbs!! There go my dreams of dancing along the sidewalk like Gene Kelly... :(

It's made even more stupid by the fact that the Tower of Terror obviously does have curbs around it. How's the La Terrasse side looking? No curbs either? I suppose it wouldn't match...

The tarmac running down the street looks horrible too, surely it can't be final!?

It's major, but still the only disappointment so far in this project, which is good. By this point with Toon Studio we'd had about ten...

Please don't call me stupid - what is/are curbs?!

I'm not very in this topic, didn't read all the posts and haven't seen all of the pics of the Hollywood Boulevard, but what is the disappointment now?!

The raised sidewalks/pavement at the side of a road:

Which apparently don't exist in the WDS' universe, leaving the entire park to be a flat field of concrete and tarmac.

Imagine Main Street without pavements, or Thunder Mesa without those raised wooden porches... Even Hollywood backlot in DCA has curbs!

Nala - the kerb is the step down from the pavement on to the road

I understand what you are saying but do feel it is great for people with prams and wheelchairs.

I don't know how many times I have had my pram jammed in the tram tracks in Disneyland Park and the kerb there are really high - when I go down one my kids nearly fall out their pram!  I did like though, sitting at the kerb watching the parade.

There wouldn't be room to push a pram down there anyway, with all the trees and lamposts...

I know it seems like a strange thing to be disappointed about, but trust me - when you're there, walking down the street, you'll notice it massively. :(

But I don't understand it , there were curbs a couple days/weeks ago? Why would they demolish them :S

It looks like the step we saw in previous photos was just the gap for the Tarmac :(

Ah okay, thank you. I guess now I understand!

To be honest, I can't even imagine if "our" Hollywood Bld may look similar to the American one?! Isn't "ours" much, much smaller than the one of DCA? And aren't those buildings only fassades, or is it possible to buy something there?

I agree with you baloo, it look so flat and to be honest a little dull. The studios is all one level and even with perhaps a couple of inches worth of curbs, it would have made it feel a little more three-dimenional....
Not saying the massive backdrops and sets don't, but i'm sure some of you will understand what I mean.
