Yes! He was really taking the time with everyone, he was perfect as Jack!

Did you see Sally? We run into her around Cottonwood Creek a couple of times, she was wandering off, picking flowers for a little girl, and simply being Sally. At one point Jack came to pick her up (I think they were leaving), but that was the only time we saw them together. I thought they were a really lovely couple!

After meeting Jack, we were starting to be a bit hungry... We went to Hakuna Matata, my first visit ever! Very yummy, will definitely be going back! Plus they kept playing music from The Lion King  :D

We came out to this:

They were brilliant! Great atmosphere  :D

By now it was almost time for the Witches Dancing Spells Party, so having no idea what to expect, we headed back to Cottonwood Creek. The show was not on Monday or Tuesday, so I really wanted to catch it on Sunday.

We should have gone earlier because they have some seats in front of the stage, of course by the time we got there they were all taken. But we found a spot on the side, the children could even sit and still get a good view, so not too many complaints. I tried to film it (haven't even looked at it yet), but the woman in front of me decided as soon as the show started that her kid should stand up (he didn't seem particularly bothered), but she kept blocking my view.

It was not bad. Not wanting to spoil it for everyone, it involves the two witches casting spells and controlling the dancers (which were really good). It did seem to go on a bit, though (even the kids were getting bored, they only woke up when at the end they gave out some candy). I preferred the Villains show they had on last year, but at least the dancers were really good (at least I liked them!)

After the show, and to wake up the adults (other than me) who hadn't really been watching the show, we went for Indiana Jones. There was a 20 minute queue, way too long    so we got some fastpasses for a bit later, and headed across Adventure Isle to probably the best ride ever, Pirates of the Caribbean, where the queue was a very reasonable 10 minutes (which turned out to be 5). On my next life, I want to be an animatronic in POTC  [-o<  I don't think I'll ever get tired of this ride, it's absolutely brilliant.

After Pirates it was time for our Indiana Jones FP. I think I now know what the problem is with the ride. It's too short. The beginning is a bit slow and boring, and as soon as you start going a fit faster, get to the loop and start really enjoying it, it finishes. They should take you around twice in a row, that should help...

Anyway, after that it was back to Fantasyland

I love this sign:

We had a go on Snow White (the abridged version, my friends said, because they're missing half of the story   ), but Pinocchio had 20 minutes, and frankly, with all the long queues we'd done so far (nothing more than 10 minutes), it did seem like too much... I should have insisted (at the end we NEVER went on Pinocchio   ), but everyone was starting to feel a bit tired and they didn't want to queue at all.

My sister in law and her kids:

We went for a coffee (and yummy cakes) to the Cable Car Bake Shop. They had a lot of Halloween cakes, I went for the werewolf cupcake:

Words cannot describe how good that was!!! The chocolate topping/werewolf was yummylicious....

Since people were still tired (amateurs   ) we decided to go back to the New York Hotel, get our rooms, and have a little rest before coming back for the parade. So we left via the Discovery Arcade, back to the hotel

And even though they kept saying they were tired, they actually took the time to admire some of the models they have there... It's hard not to really!

In the NYH lobby

The parade & end of day 1 coming soon! (my husband is waiting for me to start dinner   )

Well, another great report and some good photos. We didn't get to see the Witches show but although it seems like fun, I think we will survive :)

Pirates is one of my favorites too and it was in perfect conditions right now :)

Brilliant report and photos so far!

I think your niece and nephew are so cute! I am glad Zara ended up liking meeting the characters, bless her!

I have a niece and nephew too but they are so young (niece only 7 weeks old and nephew about 19 months old) but looking at your report I just cannot wait till they are older and I can take them to Disney and spoil them hehe!! :D  :D  :D

Can't wait to read and see more! :D

I also love PotC, it's one of my favourite rides too.
And Indiana Jones was better when it went backwards.
Great photos and report again!

Thank you all  :D

Here's the end of day 1

After a rest in the hotel (too quick for some, too long for me who wanted to get back as soon as possible   ), we headed back to DLP, in time for the parade.

The Halloween pre-parade is great, again thanks to the pumpkins... And having the Old Hag was a nice surprise!

This one was blowing me a kiss   while I was filming (I'll post the video soon). I should mention as well, since I was filming, these pictures were all taken by my husband

No one was taking her apples, I wonder why....

A few minutes later, the OUAD parade made its way to us. The Dreams of Adventure float was out (I really missed Baloo), and Belle was alone without Beast (it's not the first time I've seen that, do they fight a lot or what  :P ?)

Mickey and Minnie in the purple outfits (I want one just like that!)

As I said, no Beast for Belle

The kids loved the parade (Zara was very excited because Cinderella waved at her, and she's her favourite princess), and so did the adults.

After the parade, time for another classic ride, It's a small world  :D  Where also the queue was non existent, which is a good thing because otherwise I'm not sure I would have managed to get everyone to go... A few of them kept saying that they didn't want to have the song stuck in their heads afterwards  :-"  (actually, my neighbour Patricia called me when we were back at work this week to tell me that she still had the song in her head   )

By now, it was time for dinner. We had booked at Plaza Gardens for 18:00 (I wanted Agrabah Cafe but it was closed for dinner  :( ).

Zara and I swapped ears

Dinner was delicious. They have a really nice selection there, and the restaurant was particularly quiet, which was very pleasant.

In fact, dinner was so pleasant that it took me ages to get everyone moving again    so by the time we left it was almost 20:00 (park closed at 21:00). We decided to go and get some fastpasses for Space Mountain, while we had another go in Buzz (this time my gun was not too good, I had a terrible score...)

Unfortunately when we got out of Buzz, the SM was closed (ie broken), and with 15 minutes to go before the park closed, they told us it probably wouldn't open again.

So instead, we went to Big Thunder Mountain, which is the one I really wanted to do anyway, because I love it by night  :D  We got there and joined the 10 minute queue, but was soon as we reached the first people in the line a CM came to close our line; he moved the people in front of us to the other line, and told us to follow him, all the way to the fastpass lane, all the way to the trains  :D  :D/ For one that happened to us, and not those behind me!! The ride after that was perfect, absolutely perfect  :D

After that, exhausted and very happy, we started making our way back to the hotel. Taking some pictures along the way, of course...

And now with pumpkins... (unfortunately it was raining)

My neighbours, and my nephew Sam

Day 2 coming soon!

Another great update with some lovely photos.

I wondered where Beast had gone too - perhaps they were fighting ;)

You have some great night photos too, but yes it was annoying that had to rain so much on Sunday evening :(

Just for you

I thought I'd taken one of the whole room but I guess not, I can't find it  :( ... But we had a small seating area, with a sofa (which opened up to a bed), a coffee table and a desk.

Plus, we had a room with a view... Honestly. If you looked really carefully, behind the trees, you could see the Castle and the Space Mountain (well, bits of them anyway   )

I'm still going through the pictures from day 2 (busy day for pictures, got a few hundred to look at   ), but I'll try to get that going soon!

Here are those videos:

The Witches Dancing Spells Party (well, bits of it...) You can judge for yourselves! Personally I found it a bit confused... Not as good as last year's Villains show, but still some enjoyable bits (I really liked the dancers)

And my favourite video of this trip, the Halloween parade  :pumpkin:

Again, both available in HD... Enjoy!
