From reading the email, I'd expect the fireworks to run as per usual, with the refurb work happening after the park has closed. Then again, if a tarp is being used it may not be safe to have the fireworks :P
I suppose they could have fireworks at the Studios or even on lake Disney?

I thought something was up a while back when I noticed La Taniére du Dragon was closed from 14th Feb, instead of early Jan.

I don't mind when the refurb is starting, as long as Disney will refurbish the castle. I am sorry for the people who wre visiting for the first time, but I think it has to be done during warmer weather and the castle definately needs the refurbishment.
Until now we don't know if Disney will use a tarp during high season, maybe it is not necessary.

Looking at the period again, I think we can assume that march-june will be used for the bulk of the refub with tarps in front of the castle. During the summer season they will then refurb the back of the caste en the inside, which allows them to dismantle the tarp so the castle in visible in all it's glory and the fireworks can be launched. At least, that's what I should do.

that's a pitty now, I am taking my two middle ones for their first time in April and my daughter can't wait to see the castle! Well, I hope she won't be too disappointed. I'm sure it will be an amazing stay anyway  :D

Thank you for the reports on this, always better to know in advance. I can't work it out - does this mean that the castle, or parts of it, will be under cover 6th - 9th February this year?

Thanks

What we think will be happening is that the main part of the castle will be under tarpoulin from March until about July for the repaint and fixing/general maintenance of the structure itself.

The Dragons lair will be having a full refurb from the 14th of Febuary onwards.

They're apparently still doing refurb work right now, but it's all behind the scenes work that doesn't affect the guest.

Tinkerbell as finally "flown" away from the castle ready for the refurb soon.
