I don't mean to be rude, but you really should read Anthony's article. It's all in there.

It's the one Anthony linked to up the page:
http://www.dlrptoday.com/2009/11/04/for ... -projects/

But to answer your question, Val d'Europe is a lot more than shops. It's a booming little community, a distant cousin to Celebration, Florida and an even more distant cousin to the original EPCOT Center. And as you can tell from Anthony's map, it's going to grow quite a bit still. And in the direction of Disney Village.

It seems they've got quite a few walls ready to be placed down. If that's the case, then I'm guessing the foundations are done.

They didn't install any new foundations, actually. As the structure is built atop another structure (i.e. the train tunnel), they simply redistribute the weight. That's what all those beams were for. Of course, you might call those foundations...

Yes, that was what I was referring to. :)

So its the same method that they used for the Earl....is the usual way to build walls nowadays? Or is it just the French?

This is how they build in Europe, apparently. In the US, they build steel frameworks. Hollywood is probably to blame for our universal expectation of steel girders and rivets.

After the great fire of London, the king of France insisted that all buildings be made of stone. This is the modern version.
since 2001 (many before that)

When does this open? I see its 2012? so thats a year? Its a slow build really for something as simple as a stand along store dont you think?

Josh

#268
You'd be surprised. The design isn't as simple as the Earl's. Plus, it's above the train tracks, so I imagine that that caused a few delays. :)

Magicforum's partner site Dlp.info has posted a new picture of WoDS:

Since Kristof has posted so mayn construction pictures there is nothing new on this ones, but I have never realized that there are stairs leading to the train plattforms. I#ve only thought that the train station is the only way to reach the trains.
