just wondering, is the map on page 1 of the ratatouille thread real, because it looks incredibly proffessional

Josh

Oh yeah. It looks real. It could be a draft for the actual map that was leaked, but that doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere.

The map your talking about is a mock-up, created by a fan by combining the WDS map with the France pavilion from Epcot. It does look very convincing.

Now there seems to be rumours that the ride will be completed next year. I'm sure that that was in the initial plan, but that's obviously cannot happen now.

However, Imagineering have been preparing for this for years. There may be a small chance that they can complete it maybe at the end of 2012.

Good point, if they have been planning this, then it couldbe done fast. Just look atthe progress of the wdw fantasyland expansion.

Off topic, does anyone know if dlp will have a presence at d23 expo?

They've mentioned in a press release that they will have something to say about all of the Disney Parks. They'll definitely say something about Paris, but we don't know how much. I'll probably be mentioned in their keynote on the Friday it starts (the day I go to DLP, so I'll miss it XD ).

It might be Ratatouille that they mention, but it could just be something small like the new colour scheme for the castle.

Thats good. They might mention ratatouille, which would be good as we'd see new visuals

I'd love Disney to create a series of videos following the design and construction of the ride, like they did on the DisneyParks YoutTube channel with the creation of The Little Mermaid darkride. Because the darkride is essentially on the same scale as The Little Mermaid, isnt it? Albeit based on a Pixar film and with a differant system.

Régis (DLP Ambassador) did tell Kristof and myself that they were pushing for a Disneyland Paris presence at D23. I don't know whether they were successful.

But as I've said before, I'd much rather they revealed any Ratatouille plans to their own fans in Europe first. I know we'd get to see the concepts either way, but It'd be disappointing if we were all bypassed for the glitz of Anaheim. No doubt the American fans there would only be fractionally as interested as us anyway. They'd be better off having a kind of "Introduction to Disneyland Paris" stand, just telling people what's actually over here and why they should visit for the 20th.

Probably a bigger scale, especially with the restaurant and shop attached! The ride system is certainly far more unique for a start. Those kind of videos seem to be produced for everything Imagineering do, it's just that DLP don't have a good channel (like the Disney Parks Blog) to publish them. There was that one with Toy Story Playland footage that only came to light on the Toy Story 3 DVD. While the Disney Parks Blog shares awesome construction progress videos, the DLP YouTube for example seems more preoccupied with the latest non-events at Disney Village...

They'd be better off having an "Introduction to the World outside of America" stand :-)

  That is all.

I still doubt there will be much about DLP, and I'd say no mention of Ratatouille at all. DLP has the problem quite a few parks have, they announce a new ride, people then hold off on visiting until it opens, in turn leading to a bad year before opening with poor business figures, henceforth reducing the chance of another new attraction in quick succession.
