Quote from: "Kristof"The official Disneyland Paris YouTube channel has posted this little featurette about the Mission 2 music.  I don't think I've seen it before:

I know many folks prefer the theme and feel of SM1 but the soudtrack of SM2 when played loudly is excellent. Those strings at the start make the hair stand on the back of my neck!

Eventually manged to track down a download of the music last year and it now plays proudly as my phone's ringtone

Thanks Kristof. Great video that I hadn't seen before.

I wonder if Michael Giacchino actually heard the Steve Bramson score before writing his own? From the way he talks about Space Mountain, it sounds like he doesn't realise the ride already had music.

As posted on Café Mickey:

They've removed ALL the water from Discoveryland to everything up:

The Nautilus:

And after they cleaned everything up:

The pool looks great now and I could probably jump right into it after today's hot weather.

They really should've taken the opportunity to fix the bubbling water effect though.

^ There's so much at DLP they could improve...
But I'm not so sure they did NOT fix that effect, 'cause I've not been to DLP since 2007

I used to love Space Mountain but i always come off the ride with a headache.
Compared to other rollercoasters, you're thrown around alot more on Space Mountain but other rides you are tucked in more to the seat itself.
Diseny need to revamp the cars then i will be back!!!

When the ride first opened many years ago, it never threw you around that much Martyn.

I just found out that Space Mountain is closed for 2 days in July. On 20 and 21nd. Why??????????????? I am there at that time, and I thought in summer there are no refurbishments?????????????

SMM2 has a few days(i think it was 4, 2 at a time) where they close it to replace the launch cable, so it's pretty much the same thing every year, if i remember correctly ;)

If Disney were to replace all of the trains on Space Mountain: Mission 2 with completely new ones, would it finally run smoothly again? Or is the roughness problem not that simple to solve?

Quite possibly, they'd have to get trains with other wheel adjustments. The current trains were originally made for Discovery Mountain i believe, so they had to get the wheels adjusted so they could take sharper turns. But even if they replace them they can't be a 100% certain it will run completely smooth again, and eventually every aging coaster gets a bit rough so at a certain point it's just the ride's age.

If SMM2 would ever get a full update again(like with it's 20th anniversary or something) i think they'd have to redo the track, like DL did with their Space Mountain a few years back. If they'd want to get a fully smooth ride again i guess.

I'm at the park in just over a week now and was wondering where is the smoothest place to sit on SM?

I'm going with a friend who wants to go on it, but I'd hate for them to be put off or be stopped from riding the rest of the day due to a headache or whatever.
Very excited for first trip to DLRP in over 10 years! Big Thunder here we come!
