Just had an additional survey from DLP and amongst questions of water suppliers and Disney Express, it appears they are contemplating a premium fastpass service.

Please read this description of a new Disney FASTPASS® service that Disneyland® Paris could possibly offer in the future:

Disney FASTPASS® Premium

You pay a certain price per person, per day and go directly to any of the attractions below featuring Disney FASTPASS without any time constraint and with unlimited access, with a reduced waiting time compared to the current Disney FASTPASS system.

Disney FASTPASS® One

You pay a certain price per person, per day to choose one attraction among those listed below that offer Disney FASTPASS service, go directly to that attraction without any time constraint, and have limited access to that attraction once during your visit, with a reduced waiting time compared to the current Disney FASTPASS system.

Disneyland Park:
Big Thunder Mountain
Peter Pan's Flight
Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast®
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain (Space Mountain®)
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
Indiana Jones™ and the Temple of Peril

Walt Disney Studios Park:
Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith
Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets over Agrabah

Premium:
Now let's assume that Disneyland Paris is considering selling this service at the price of 90€ per person, per day. Would you purchase this service at that price during a future visit to Disneyland Paris?

90 Euros per day!!! How about no? 20 Euros for one go of 1 ride? Come on Disney.

Obviously they are just sounding out opinions at this stage, but looks like they are trying to monetarise the fastpass system. Which would be a shame as it is already an expensive holiday, and the current system is better imo than the expensive Q-BOT equivalent at Legoland for example.

It'll be an option and nothing more. There'll still be the same number of normal fastpasses available. This will just be another way for them to make a bit of extra money. Tbh I can only see it being used by the well off who are visiting for one very busy day so it'll have a limited take up.

Aren't they rolling this out in Disneyland and/or WDW? If so, its certainly possible that they could offer it in Paris.

Is it right? Can't say a definiate no - its not compulsory, so if people feel the need to spend over the odds for it, then more fool then.
Plus, its an added revenue stream for the resort.

It's worth noting that, as far as I know, its not offered in HKDL or TDL.

Disney is making it very clear that the fortunate few deserve more than the average visitor. It's one thing that they are doing it in the hotels (separate floors and dining rooms). But to do this in the parks is kinda shameless. And makes other (less) fortunates feel like a 2nd rang visitor.

Bad idea imo.

they did offer premium fastpasses for sale previously and not suprised they want to bring it back. for some people not able to long trips for a week+ it does make sense at busy times of year to have this an alternative imho.

it is pretty expensive at 90 per day per person but as long as didnt have to be purchased for everyday of the trip could be a nice option.

It doesn't matter how long your visit to the parks is. Nobody likes to wait in line.
Imo they are saying "Hey you are rich. You don't have to wait in line with those poor people".

Also, come visit our Haunted house. It has Frozen characters. <-- Sorry wrong thread   ;D

I'm not a huge fan of FastPass anywyay.

WDI go to great lenghts at times to create intricate queue areas, in part to begin the narrative of the attraction, but also to add to the experience. Therefore, skipping most of it or at the least breezing past it all to get on the ride quick just takes a bit of the edge off.

I'm not concerned about those who would pay for this service - it seems to me that they are paying more and getting just that little bit less.

The normal fast pass system is still in place, totally free, and if you use it wisely you don't have to wait in line for long at all. I haven't queued up 'properly' for BtM in my last 10 visits.

IMO, as I said, this only really has use for a one day visit and only worth it if the day happens to be really busy.

It doesn't make me feel like a 2nd class visitor any more than not staying in the Castle Club does.

To me it's just another money making scheme coming in that could eventually price DLP out of the market for the masses, bringing it in line with WDW.
I myself am not that bothered about not having to queue, yes it can be a pain if it's long but you are on holiday, were is the rush? Plus there is no way I could afford to pull  that amount of money out per day and is it per person? It's not for me so I'll queue as normal having a laugh with family as I always do, using normal fast passes as and when/if we need them.

The problem with additional charges for anything is that you have to times it by the number of people in your party. So, 90 euros might not sound much, but times it by 4 and its a significant amount.

They use this system at Universal Studios - effectively buying your way to the front of the queue. We were queing for a ride there once and it came to a standstill because the same people kept jumping to the front of the queue - they'd ride, then get straight back on.

I can't work out if this would replace the current fastpass system.

This will only benefit DLP and those willing to pay the extra. I can see it having a negative impact overall as it will p*ss off casual attendees and affect repeat visits.

It wouldn't replace the current fast pass system. That system is a benefit to DLP - whilst you're queuing you're not spending any money in shops etc.

If they do introduce it I hope it is expensive. If too many people get it then there is no point

claire2281

The suggested prices were between 90-120 Euros per person per day so it would certainly be a premium product.

Can we ask where the survey was held? Is there some sort of consumer panel?

And the key is, it's a survey. With something like this, I can imagine that it would have to have a high positive responce for it to actually be implemented.

I seem to recall years and years ago there was one for WDW that, amongst many of the items, it asked about the guests opinions on casinos.
That's not to say they were actually thinking of building one on property, but you can imagine it was used to sound out peoples opinions.
