What does "and friends" mean?

Hi!
This might sound like a stupid question but on the schedule what does it mean when it says "Minnie and friends" or "Daisy and friends"?

That it may not be Minnie there but a similar related character. Sometimes you see more than one character there too.

e.g. Winnie the Pooh & friends might be any of the Hundred Acre Wood characters

On my last visit to DLP in 2014 Winnie the Pooh and friends did a meet just outside Plaza Gardens restaurant.  Eyeore was with him the occasion I went to that meet and greet.  This photo was the result  :)

I believe Daisy's 'friend' is Miss Bunny and Minnie's is Marie
