but its not a DISNEY project, its a Paramount project, so it will be more like Universal Studios than Disney Land, thats if the project goes ahead. Its still at planning stages.

Damn, I just read the article after the headline after posting it and it's about the already-known Paramount one rather than Disney.

I love how they haven't even applied for planning yet and give it such a misleading title >:( so basically a new theme park then!

No Disney! Just paramount, but I wonder what it will be like, it will be good for tourism to that area though so although I'm not exactly jumping for joy like I would an actual Disneyland, it still could be a good thing. Mind you, for me, nothing even comes close to anything Disney produce in my opinion!!!  I don't think they will ever build a Disney in the UK, it's far too close to Paris!

I swear they focus everything down South! It would be quicker for me to fly to Paris than drive to Kent or get a train there - crazy.

To be honest I don't think I'd like the idea of a UK Disneyland. Maybe it's just me but when I went last year the rudest people in the park seemed to be the British ones haha. Nah France just has that flare.

Also argh misleading article titles are the worst!

It's weird that they opted for Paris rather than London. London would have been a much better location for Disneyland IMO.

You must be kidding with land prices  :o

They chose Paris because they could literally set up a new town somewhere.

They couldn't find anywhere in the UK with enough land expansion to do that.

You have to remember Marne / Chessy was nothing until Disney came along.

also that Paris is Much more accessible than England for other European countries.  I really don't get why the whole article had pictures of disneyland.  it could work but the opeNing hours would have to be much more like disneyland Paris than all other UK theme parks which even in tge height of dinner shut around 7pm

Zee79

The theme parks close to me shut by 5pm in the summer!

Even Paris is only 2nd choice in my opinion.

I think the location near Barcelona where now Port Aventura is would have been a much better location, the weather is much more like in Florida or California. I really would like to know why they decided against it.

Paris is the most visited capital in Europe. Also, in '92 (opening of DLP) the Eurotunnel wasn't completely build or open yet. So London wasn't the most accessible part of this continent  ;)

My friend said they're building a Disneyland in the UK until I looked it up and found out it was going to be a paramount park :/ I don't know why people call it Disneyland UK for as I find it a  bit deceiving imo.

According to the telegraph that London is the world's most popular capital again. So a Disneyland would work in the UK if they had the room for it. All the times I've been to DLRP I've never been to Paris.

Oreo

They missed a trick not building Disneyland in Spain or at least the South of France.

Warmer weather, more welcoming people and did I mention the warmer weather  ;)
