Hi Everyone,

For most people, this will be good news. The SVP for Operations made the announcement yesterday, that you won't be able to request smoking rooms anymore. "All Disney-owned and operated hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort will become smoke-free by June 1, 2007." That include the Swan Resort, Beach Club, Polynesian, etc.

Apparently the Disney Resorts were under a lot of pressure by various groups to make this change.

Just an FYI.

Best Regards, Stuart

Moved to International Disney parks.

I think this is only WDW right now, but it's great news all the same.  Thanks for posting!

Hi Faisj,

The annoucement specifically said Walt Disney World Resort. So perhaps it is just for Orlando, not sure. Also, smoking is more accepted internationally, so this probably would not apply. You better double check with them directly.

Good Luck!

There is no internal msg I know of inside DLRP that this rule will
be enforced. I do know that the amount of smoking rooms are decreasing.

I'll also check with some colleagues here
