Im not sure how scanning luggage is sufficient after all you can nip to your car and bring anything to your room straight from the car park. They dont search your car or any bags of purchases from the park. Most of the 2 star hotels dont even require you to go through reception to access your room, for example Santa Fe is a open walk from the car park or indeed from any othef hotel. This also applies to offsite partner hotels for example Kyriad, zero scanning there and if security is in reception it us easily bypassed.
It strikes me as odd that this muppet chose a hotel with a scanner and then chose to scan his luggage when there were options to avoid all security.

Dutch media report two things:
- the woman who was with him and fled yesterday has been arrested in their home in Paris;
- the guy stated he carried the guns to defend himself as he "felt not secure".

So if I am correct, he was a muppet afraid of muppets?

I was at the Parks in January staying off site and the security getting into the actual parks was pretty gnarly. Bags through scanners, take off your jacket and unzip hoodie, empty your pockets into trays and a metal detector, the works!!

Like ChipandDale99 said, that level of security and the fact that they caught someone makes me feel a lot better about it. Hopefully it will turn out he wasn't trying to hurt anyone, just another idiot of thinks carrying guns makes you safer. That would mean DLP wasn't being targeted and the security works. That's a Twofer!

I think that this shows that the security measures are working.

I have always felt really safe at Disneyland Paris.  I noticed last year that security had been stepped up considerably and by the sounds of it, it is even higher now.

Don't forget also that there will be a lot of security measures 'behind the scenes' that we can't see that are also keeping us safe.

This certainly wouldn't put me off visiting the parks.

Hi tru life. Hope you and your girlfriend enjoyed your trip glad all worked out for us..
When we were leaving salon mickey in january a guy had hopped over the fence between the back door of salon mickey and the wall of main st station. He was really scruffy lad in his late teens so was probably a thief rather than anything more sinister. They must gave seen him on CCTV as security was waiting for him. As he lowered to the ground they absolutely flattened him! He didnt put up a fight just went limp, heavy and awkward.  Last we saw of him they had upended him and were carrying him off by his belt loops bum up in the air!

This is the only mention I've seen from anybody about people themselves being searched - scanning bags is ok unless somebody is carrying a gun & ammo in their pocket, so I'm very pleased to hear they search coats, pockets, etc. as well.

I'm already used to strict security measures at football matches, since the November attacks, and being 'body searched' on the approach to stadia, so hearing this actually pleases me as I'll know that whilst we're within the security perimeter of the Parks we'll be able to forget the dark tones of the outside world.  Which is a big part of why we all go to DLP anyway!

Again shows how tight security is. You know cctv is in the park but don't think about it as they don't make it obvious for that reason. If it is highly visible  people would know what to target in the parks. We have no idea how many 'visitors' are actually security but it reassuring to know they take it very seriously & there measures are working.

The last few times we have been there has been some lack of security in that people push through the entrances quickly with bags so don't have to be searched not anything malicious just wanting to get in the park & not liking to queue. Security themselves talking to each other not paying attention at times either but I know with it being winter time they did check the majority of people themselves by patting them down & searching hand bags if they weren't put through scanners.

We arrived on the Monday after the attacks, we were asked to open our car boot and roof box before we got in the the sql car park. All our bags were scanned before getting into the hotel. Bags checked going to and from the village and when the parks eventually opened on the Wednesday they were searching most people but everyone had to open thier jackets and empty pockets. Pretty much everyone had metal detector run by them.

Apparently all of they hotels have luggage scanning now

Not sure how they'd scan luggage at the Cheyenne where luggage doesn't pass through a central point. We transported our luggage straight from the car to our block.
