hi everyone

I am from the Uk but just booked up a crossover deal over the phone for 7 days in April.

Initially I intended to book the New York hotel but the girl on the phone talked me into booking the NewPort Bay as she said the Newport had just been renovated opposed to the new York hotel that is in need of work.

Is this the case? how far out is the new port bay is it much further a walk?

I'm not overly fussed, I just wondered what peoples experiences were. The last time we were there was 2 years ago and we felt the hotel Cheyenne was in need of work which I think swayed me!

I have booked Hotel New York for February. I would book that any day over Hotel Newport for one reason... Location, Location, Location.

Hotel New York and Hotel Newport Bay are at opposite ends of Disney Lake, with Hotel New York, the closest to Disney Village.

It all depends on what you want. Both Hotels are basically equal standard, but Newport Bay is the most newly renovated.

The New York hotel is a 10 minutes walk to the parks, while the Newport Bay Club is a 15 minutes walk.
So not much difference really.
Both are around Lake Disney. At this link http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/maps/ you can see the map.

I just did a quick search on the internet, and Newport Bay Club should have just been finished with the refurbishment  (autum 2015).

we are stayin HNY 7-11 dec will let you know what its like

Don't pay any attention to the walk estimates on their websites it says DLH is 5 minutes and its more like 30 seconds!

HNY is in my opinion a lot nearer. I haven't stayed in either but have walked from said hotels to the parks after some of the excursions and I would say Newport takes about 10 while HNY is possibly less than 5 depending on your walking pace plus if you're in the village at night you can walk there in under a minute.

It completely depends what theming you prefer if you aren't fussy about walking.

I think the new renovations and lack of facilities have put people off Newport and so Disney are pushing it more as there is still no pool or shop and its boarded up quite a bit (not saying this is the case for your trip).

Ahh, what day do you go in February?! ;D

I personally think the Hotel New York is better- food is fab, it's only like 1/2 minutes from the park if that!

Doh, I go 15th-19th  ::)
The Hotel New York is great though, I personally think it is the best hotel in Euro Disney. Are you staying in a normal room or a suite?

Walking distance depends on where you consider the park starts, how fast you walk, and how many people are queuing in front of you.

Bag check? 10 mins?

First gate? 12 mins?

Turnstiles? 15 mins?

Surprised they pushed Newport Bay over New York, I thought they'd make more money from people staying in New York.

I've stayed in both and prefer New York to Newport for the restaurants etc.  There isn't a lot of difference in walking times and to be honest I found the stroll to Newport Bay quite nice round the lake.

I've seen some reviews of the New York on tripadvisor etc saying rooms needed renovating, but the last 2 trips I didn't find anything that would bother me.

You'll have a lovely time :-)

Thanks for the replys everyone!

I think ill stick with the new port bay for just now but can always change it into the new year if the boss decides she wants 4 star as opposed to newly refurbed!

thank you all for your opinions/reviews/general chat....cant wait to get there although I'm a bit gutted that the rock and rolla coaster will be out of commission when we are there!

I was on their UK site just yesterday pricing for a visit next year and for a standard room in both the New York and the Newport Bay it was exactly the same price the exactly the same dates... so maybe thats why they pushed it more if they are coming in at the same price at the moment.

I wouldn't say it is a 4 star hotel, Disney uses a a key system to indicate price differences primarily and location is really the only difference between the hotels. so DLH is 5 keys, 0 mins to park entrance and the most expensive, HNY is 4 keys as the next nearest and therefore cost, sequoia and Newport are classed as 3 keys for moderate pricing and 10min? ithink, the santa fe and Cheyenne are 2 keys as the furthest away and also the cheapest in cost.

people have been caught out by this before mainly on trip advisor if you look at reviews of the various hotel expecting "more" from  HNY and DLH as 4* and 5* equivalent
