Hi Sally
I'm there this coming weekend but not renewing my pass until October - however, if the bureau is quiet I'll nip in and enquire for you.  Post the response, if any, next Monday.
Regards
Lynne

Quote from: "abbi02"Hi just wondering if anyone is buying their annual passes in the next few weeks if they could make a few enquiries with the CM about discounts, if any, for disabled guests buying annual passes.  I have tried on numerous occasions to get an answer to this but nobody on the telephone seems to know! Thanks in advance.

Sally
Yes Sally, there is a discount for disabled guests buying APs: Classic AP 89 Euro, Francilien AP 107 Euro, Fantasy AP 125 Euro, Dream AP 179 Euro. This discount only applies when buying the passes in the AP office (not online etc.)! Hope this helps!

Hi

Is it best to by a package holiday then upgrade to AP's?

How do you book in at Disneyland Hotels with AP's?

Is it worth booking in at Disneyland Hotels or going off site?

Hi guys!

I recently sent an e-mail to DLP Customer Service asking if I can purchase a Classic Passport online or by telephone. I live in Greece and will be visiting the parks in January for 2 days. Since you can't use the passport right after you purchase it I figured if I get it now online I can use it by January. To make a long story short, I was told that I can purchase a passport online and the only catch is that the site is in French. What they didn't specify however is if it is for residence of France ONLY. I've read several times, on the first page of this topic and elsewhere as well, that online purchase concerns only French guests. But the rep that answered my e-mail didn't make that distinction. Can anyone help me with this? I might just end up sending another e-mail to DLP, but this forum has a lot of great info.

Thanx in advance for the help! x

Hi, this is my first post although I have been a lurker for a LONG time!! I am obsessed with Disney and go as much as I can I also check DLRP constantly!!

I am wondering about an AP. I have never bought one I keep refusing and wanting more money to spend. However, I think I should this time as I am hoping to go in Oct, Nov, May and then Oct and tbh the shop and food discounts alone would be amazing.

I will be going with my son who is 5 and my mother on all trips and I only really want to buy one pass for me. Can I get the 10% discount off my total bill in restaurants or only on what I have eaten?! Obviously in the shops etc I have to be there to show my card etc with my mother and thats fine. I also have a few questions about the Disney hotel 35% room discount though. Does it include the food vouchers you buy with the room?! Does it include the children under seven going for free can I get that if I book the room for me and my son because he is free?! If that is possible can I use my AP and then just buy park tickets for my mother with a 20% discount?!

If that is not possible can I book the room for us and tickets me only and then use my AP to get a 20% discount off tickets for my son and mother. My son is disabled and so I should get the reduced entry for him and free carer tickets for my mother shouldn't I?!

Also the site says you cannot use it with any other offer but looking through this forum it appears other people have used it with offers so is it just a luck thing?!

It is VERY complicated haha. Sorry in advance but any advice would be good.

Thanks in advance

yes, its the total bill you get the discount off, so it would be for all 3 of you.

Obviously in the shops etc I have to be there to show my card etc with my mother and thats fine. I also have a few questions about the Disney hotel 35% room discount though. the AP room discount is only on the full price of the room, so its generally cheaper to book a package. You don't get any AP discount on half board packages, so when you have an AP, its better value to use your AP for food discoun than to buy half board vouchers at all. When you book a room with your AP, its room only, no park tickets included, so you'd still have to buy park tickets for your son and mum, over and above what you'd pay for the hotel room. A better idea would be to book a package for just your mum and son (as he would be free) so they both get park tickets included in their stay, then add yourself to the room when you arrive to check in. This is a standard method for AP holders, and will reduce the costs for you.

If that is possible can I use my AP and then just buy park tickets for my mother with a 20% discount?!

no, the AP discount cannot be used with other package discount offers. If you all have APs, sometimes room only is slightly cheaper than a package, but if only one of you is getting an AP, thats very unlikely to be the case when you add on the price of park tickets for your son and mum.

It is VERY complicated haha. Sorry in advance but any advice would be good.

I have no idea about disabled/carer access to the parks, sorry. Unless you absolutely must stay onsite on all your trips, if you are intending having 4 trips to DLP in 12 months, it would make sense to all have APs, then look at the partner/associated hotels booked through other agents (ie not Disney). Do a price-up of all your intended hotel bookings with Disney, then work out the cost of the APs you would want and say £70 per nigh per room for a partner hotel (they can be cheaper than this), and see how it compares.

Thanks for all that advice!!

Unfortunately (I love to save and explore new places!!) we have to stay onsite because my son is disabled and we need to be able to get to the hotel asap sometimes getting him there via transport if he is having a meltdown etc is so not going to happen. Also because he is in a wheelchair the trains etc are awkward. Besides I like staying on site but it would be nice to save. After ringing Disney and getting quotes for hotels with room and b&b only without tickets it looks like getting an AP for me in Oct because we have already paid for it and then getting room only in nov and buying mother and son tickets when we are there is the cheapest option. If I book room only in Nov I would save over £700!! Crazy!! I know that children normally stay and play for free but tbh for the amount of extra money compared to what I save it seems to be worth it.

Can I book a room only and then get mother and son APs when we get there in Nov if I already have an AP to book the room?! Also would it be cheaper to get them like a cheap version of the AP such as the fantasy as my version would get me money off hotel?! Can I use the family 20% at any time or do ALL passports have to be bought together. Finally do they give discounts off the APs for disabled people or carers?!

Thanks :D

yes you can do this, no problem.

Also would it be cheaper to get them like a cheap version of the AP such as the fantasy as my version would get me money off hotel?!

yes, you can buy the Fantasy for them, or even consider the Francillien/Classic AP bought in October when you already have park tickets, because that way the 2nd and 3rd day restriction on those APs would be used up in your October stay if you activate them the day you buy them in October. You'll need to check the blackout dates for all 3 APs before making your final decision.

Can I use the family 20% at any time or do ALL passports have to be bought together.

you only get the family discount if you are buying 5 of the same type of annual pass, all at the same time.

Finally do they give discounts off the APs for disabled people or carers?!

sorry, no idea about this one.

Thanks :D

hope this helps,

aww thank you so much for all your help. Just noticed one more thing though ( curiosity killed the cat!!) you said about adding yourself to a booking afterwards as an ap holder how does that work?! Thanks xx

you book one adult (and a child aged under 7 because they are free) in on a package booking (so hotel and park tickets for one adult, one child, are included). Then you, as AP holder, add your name to the booking when you all arrive at the hotel to check in. The most you will be asked to pay are local taxes, which are less than 2 euros per night. You get breakfast included, just like anyone else staying at the hotel.

Do a dummy booking for your dates for one adult, one child under 7, then 2 adults, one child, to compare the difference in what you would pay.

For example, on my last trip, one adult and free kids was £247, 2 adults and free kids was £374, so I would save £127 by being an AP holder and adding my name to the booking at check in.

Oh that is really clever, thank you. I suppose I would be slightly scared that they wouldn't let me add myself lol!!

honestly, there is no problem doing this - its a standard way of AP holders staying onsite  :) .
