Hi

I am new here but my love for disney will always be with me. I have an obsession with minnie and mickey. I am here to talk to anybody thats wants to know more about the auditions for Disneyland Paris. I have been to several and have been to disneyland paris 6 times now.

I am more than happy to talk and share my experiences to anybody that is interested. I would like to talk to more people that are more like me have the passion for disney. The more people that love Disney than the better I can get along and chat. Keep those posts my way.

Lauren ;)

Hi May

Its Lauren here, i have been to many disneyland paris auditions and each one is different. Each audition looks for either the characters, princesses (character looka likes and parades). But you dont know what they need until you turn up on the day.

All the way from israel wow, think your the furthest, I made a friend on here all the way from new zealand. Im on facebook if you always want to talk Disney. Please do ask me the questions you need to ask and I may be able to help you.

Look forward to hear from you

Lauren.

Hey guys,
my name is Alexandra, I'm from Germany and want to go to the character audition in Hamburg in February. I'd like to audition as a look-a-like although I don't look exactly like a specific princess (I mean - who does? I went to Disneyland Paris a couple of months ago and the costumes of the characters contributed most, I'd say). I'm blonde and not that tall and it has just been a dream of mine to work in Disneyland Paris as a character and to smile and wave at fascinated children :)
My question is: do you have to have a special acting formation or something likte that? And what do the people in the casting want to see of the auditioning people?
The audition in Hamburg also includes the audition for the parades I think - does that mean I have to dance as well? I have never had special dance lessons, but do you know a way how to prepare for that part? Or for that matter, for every part of the audition?

Thank you sooo much for your answers, I'm really not sure if I should go to the audition as I'm not specifically trained :( but I'd love to!

Hi Alex lauren here, I have been to many auditions held in the UK. I would say give it a shot i.am also a person who has n experience whats so ever. Its now been my second.year audition they say.experience is.not needed however would be good. Im not what you call an actor or a singer but I can tell you I made it onto the waiting books once. The audition is broken into two halves animation and dance round. Each round they will show.you will be the practise rehearsals before your actual performance. As for the character look a likes I agree with you they dont look like who they supposed to portray. All I can say is you have to measure the right height as required. Best advise is you dont need experience, you just need to smile and show the enthusiasm. Im always on Facebook if you would like to add me. Have a few Disney friends on there. I say go for it and enjoy it. Good luck to you I have an audition on the 15 ti in London.

Thanks so much for the answer!
I still have other questions, e.g. where can I find the restrictions on how tall/thin you have to be to even be considered?
I can't find that anywhere.

Hi, my I'm Klara and I'm new to the forum but I have been reading all about the audition process :)

I  have recently decided that I'm going to take a gap year before I go to uni and I have always thought that if I did do a gap year, I would work at Disneyland Paris. When I started looking into it last week I realised how difficult it is to get a job at DLP. So I have come here for advice because you all seem like helpful lovely people  My language skills are quite good, I have been billingual (English/Danish) from birth and I got A*s in french and german at GCSE and am currently doing German at AS level. I don't really have much background in acting/dance but I did do ballet and acting classes when I was in primary school and I can also ice skate well (Wouldn't it be amazing to be in the Disney Winter Wonderland?!). Obviously I would prefer to be a character/parade performer but I will take what I can get because I love Disney! So what I am here for is that because I have at least a year before I can even think about auditioning as I'm 17 in march, is there anything I can do to prepare myself and try to increase my chances of getting a job at DLP? I'm up for doing pretty much anything, taking dance classes or getting a job or whatever, but obviously I can't do too much as I do have school as well (Which has become ridiculously hard because it's A level).

Thank you so much for reading if you took the time to read my ridiculously long paragraph!

I have also posted basically the same thing here > viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1996&start=2860

Hi, my name is Sandra (from Germany) and I'm also new to the forum  (Had to login, because I've read your conversation) :)
I'd love to work in Disneyland Paris as  a Character and Parade Performer before I go to university, It has always been a big dream of mine!  But I don't really know if I first have to apply on their website  to be accepted to the audition? Or can I just go there and then hand in my CV? Well, moreover I don't know if it's possible to have an Open-ended contract as a Look-A-Like, since I will probably be admitted to university in october..? However, I would work at least 2 months, but I'm not quite sure if I have to finish because of my university place :(
I'm so much looking forward to hearing from you!  It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who is obsessed of the Disney-dream...

This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four Cs. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable."

Hi there!
My names Amy! I'm going to the auditions for DLP at Pineapple Dance Studios on the 14th of Jan!
Is anyone else going to be there? Id love to meet up with you all there!
For anyone that's been to the auditions before, im planning that if i dont make it monday i want to re-audition tuesday, is that allowed? Also best dance shoes to wear?

Also, a few tips ive got from my friend from tokyo;
- Wear a bright coloured top, that will stand out, as you want them to notice you.
- Barge your way to the front, you want to be noticed! So get as far to the front as possible.
- Stretch, because the dance audition gets harder as it goes along, and you dont want unnecessary injuries.

Hope to hear from ya'll! ;)

Alright so as there's more Auditions coming up this month, i thought id use my experience to help anyone planning to attend the march 21st, 22nd or 23rd auditions at Pineapple Dance Studios, London, Or Leeds.

You'll go into the studio and be given a sticky number, (if you go on the second day and get 500 like i did, dont worry, there's not that many people!). You'll also be given a sheet which just needs vital info like name, where you live etc. Then you'll line up (for ages!) to get height measured, then passed along to the auditions who may ask you when you're available to start etc. They're very nice, and if you smile and make a memorial impact on them then, you've got a good chance they'll watch you during your animation!

You'll then sit through this lovely long DVD explaining pay, contracts, accommodation etc by the Animation Leader, who's rather funny. Then you'll meet your choreographer. Shes wonderful, and so easy to learn from. This is where it gets important...

You'll be doing several animations to impress your auditioners each lasting for 8 counts, that's not a lot of time to show what you're made of!
The pattern goes;
8 x walking forward as a Cowboy/Cowgirl
8 x going round in a circle as a Pirate
8 x standing as one of the Dwarfs (Don't go to sneezy or sleepy, too stereotypical!)
4 x to the left, 4x to the right of being a villain. (You can be 2 different villains!)
8 x Curtsey or Bow like a Disney princess or prince (This can include Alice in the Wonderful and any Disney female.)
8 x Running off waving, blowing kisses etc.

Sounds easy right? WRONG.
So you'll practice with your choreographer a few times then get split into groups of 100. 10 People each will be asked to perform they're animation in front of your scary audition people. At the end of you're piece, if you're going home, you'll have your number called. Which can be really early in the day. This is the most important part of your experience.

Once everyone's done, the dancing commences. Now if you cant dance, DO NOT PANIC. There's a few quick turns and spins but at the end of the day, they aren't looking for amazing dancers all the time, They're looking for people who can perform and stick out in the crowd.

Handy Tips;
-If you have excessive piercings, e.g. more than one pair of earrings, i suggest you remove them.
-Tattoos aren't highly appreciated WHATSOEVER. If you have them, cover those puppies up. If you're covered in them, They will not think twice about you unfortunately.
-Wear a bright top, or something that will make you stick out. Between 300 girls and boys, you'll need all the attention you can get.
-Don't cover yourself in stage makeup. Keep your face as pure as possible. One of the auditioners is particularly looking for girls and boys that can be character look-a-likes. They look at your facial structure and features, so to get a better chance, keep it pure.
-Look presentable, Tracksuit bottoms and a baggy top, arent you to help you. Who cares if you havent got all the Pineapple dance trousers etc, a pair of leggings and a plain t-shirt or leotard are perfect.
-Be yourself!

The most important point i have to make is ENJOY IT. Its an amazing experience, you'll meet some lovely people on audition day and DO NOT PANIC. I wish you all the best of luck!
