The two waterscreen fountains went up over night! But... well... see for yourself...

InideDLParis said he was told that they'd be on a lift so that they're not visible during the day.

Sorry, but I can't see a lift. Maybe a lift was planned and DLRP cut costs again and now its static.

From InsideDLParis:

"But obviously they can't, unless these are just for tests, I am very interested to see how they will look when finished."

15MagicalYears

They better find a way of hiding those beasts during the day, what an eyesore.

Josh

They could be test units, because they're not painted. But if they are the actual units that'll be used, maybe they're using telescopic cylinders?

I don't see why they'd go to the bother of installing units to then rip them back out and replace them in a month or so. Also, they don't look very telescopic - they seem pretty standard to me, there's no definite areas or joints you can see they may collapse in to.

DopeyDad

A test unit would make sense, it's far more costly to install the final unit only to find it's the wrong height/angle/location etc. In fact, an ugly test unit now makes a lift version more likely as that would have significant costs to install and they'd have no way to correct an error afterwards.

Lorum

Let's see these pictures below.

Here we see that the water screens system are the same they have already installed. But if we take a look at the 3D render.

It's obvious, isn't it? The water screens are taller than those drawn on the plans. The thing is that they are cutting the theme rock in the right place to project images on the screens, just where the watershield is located at this time.

There is just one possibility. The water pressure head may lift up the watershield when they switch on the pump, but a water screen needs a good velocity head, so they would lose pressure.

A quick question... looking at the photos of the moat throughout the building works, Have they filled them with concrete to make them shallower since the start?

i was just wondering if the nighttime spectacular show would be doing any test runs prior to the actual celebrations? im staying from the 21st-25th march and was hoping that they might do a test run, but i dont know if they will but its just some very wishful thinking! if anyone could let me know i would be extremely grateful

If you're lucky, you may see a soft opening on the 24th. I'm not sure if they'll do a soft opening for something like this, though.

When I first read that, I started to agree with you. But I just found something that shows I may be right; except that I was looking at it the wrong way. I thought that they would retract from their current position, but -- in actual fact -- they're already retracted! The way that we see them now is exactly how they will be during the daytime.

Hopefully, they'll wrap a pillar or something around the poles to make them themed.

The foutains will be 'magically' coverd up , so of this is the only visibile thing for 'Dreams' I can live with it ;)
Another photo of ThemeParkZones.es gives us a view and it isn't that visible.

dagobert

I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed that the fountains are visible. After what WDI did at DCA with WoC, I would have expected that they try to hide the fountains better.

peter

But it could be much worse, couldn't it.

also, i'm trying to work out what the 9 foot hole in the rockwork is for.

One of the projectors for the big fountain screen in front of it. :) I wonder how they'll cover it up during the day.
