Disneyland Paris Trip Planning / DLH v's Newport Bay
Last post by Nicola - November 02, 2020, 10:45:21 PM
I have never stayed in the Newport Bay we have had to move there due to a lockdown cancellation. Can someone soothe my nerves?! It is an extra £2600 to move our existing booking for 1 week in the DLH to when the park reopens. So we have had to move to the Newport Bay, we are taking my parents who are older for their very first trip to Paris. Not the end of the world but I am anxious about it and upset Disney wouldn't honour a move for the same booking 1 week.

Announcements & Support / Re: Is anyone out there?

To further prove the point of dwindling numbers, I'm replying almost 5 months later! Haha.

It's a shame really. Over the years forums have been a fantastic way to communicate, hang out and make new friends but they're a dying breed like everyone says. Social media captures so much more of an audience than a forum now. The thing is I've been to Disneyland Paris the last 3 Christmas' on the bounce and through a combination of reading on here and some YouTube videos I was able to go armed with enough knowledge and tips to make my trips count even when they've been insanely busy. Infact this forum was what I used to look at meal vouchers and even when I planned on getting my AP and going once every two months (I live in the UK, so it's not that difficult but then the world went on it's head as booked to go to sort it in April).

I think places like this will cling on for a little while longer but time will ultimately be it's downfall and we'll all be worse off for it when it happens.

Disneyland Paris Trip Planning / Overnight camping & animal car...
Last post by Crush - September 07, 2020, 09:52:02 PM
Hi, hope everyone is doing well :)

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the overnight camping on-site at DLP? And also any reviews of the Animal Care Centre?

We are planning a French trip as soon as post-arrival quarantine is abolished and we'd like to include a day or two at DLP, and we're just wondering about these two points. Info online is limited.

We would be in our motorhome with a small/medium sized dog.

Thanks so much!

Disneyland Paris Trip Planning / Re: Would you risk it?

www.worldometers.info if you check out the CV19 stuff France still have lower cases than the UK. If you are happy to mask up and take hand gel. Why not? It seems from what we will all miss in parades we will make up for in the sheer amount of characters at the selfie points. If you treat it as the time you went during the pandemic it will be fine. You will be at risk wherever you are unless you are fully shielding. I would rather be sensible in DLP than stuck at home and catch it in Lidl ;)

Disneyland Paris Trip Planning / Re: Did I do the right thing?

Hi,

It is hard to say, only you know if it was right for you. We went one year after the November terrorist attacks. It took a long time to decide what to do but Disney were brilliant and I spoke to them about three times before deciding to go ahead.

From what I have seen there are limited shows and no parades or mini parades only to prevent crowds gathering to watch BUT there are amazing character selfie points and there is amazing social distancing provision etc.  They have released more characters at one time than ever before. It will be different but it will also be epic.

We are not huge Halloween season fans so it wouldn't bother me, but if you are big Halloween fans and love the parade etc then you were right.

We are booked to go in February, we have been booked from the very moment they released the dates we wanted to book way before CV19. We have decided unless there is a catastrophic 2nd wave of global significance we will go ahead. Our hotel hasn't re opened yet but we will go with the flow. It's hard because we are taking my parents for the first time. That's hard because we wont be able to show them all our favourite things as they most likely wont be happening. However it will still be magical, DLP are doing a lot to compensate guest experience so we are just going to go with the flow.

I don't think there is a right or wrong thing to do. It is very personal. Good luck whatever you choose. One thing for sure if you go now, there wont be many ques and you will be treated really well!

Disneyland Paris Trip Planning / Magic Music Days Programme
Last post by IamMerida - August 09, 2020, 05:00:02 PM
Hi everyone!

I hope everyone's well. I've been asked by my theatre company to plan our next trip to DLP where we would be part of the programme they offer where companies and schools etc can go and perform there. We have been three times before, but this is the first time I have been asked to organise it all, which I'm sure you can imagine is not a small feat. I was wondering if anyone out there had performed within this programme in the past and could offer any tips or advice when it comes to this mammoth task.

Also, we are hoping to go in 2022, when would you suggest contacting disney to get planning and get the ball rolling.

Any tips are massively appreciated!

Disneyland Paris Dining / Re: App Dining Reservations - ...
Last post by never2old - July 20, 2020, 10:26:35 AM
Thanks!

Is it only available if you're in the parks? I've tried it but it doesn't give me the option to book via the app, only to call by phone. I've got the latest version (even tried re-downloading it see if it made a difference). Very annoying :(

Here we are 10 years later...

I thought it would be fun to resurrect this discussion now that:

1. Splash Mountain really IS going to be rethemed to The Princess and the Frog 😵
2. I've written a NEW 4066 word article all about it, which actually references this discussion here on the DLPGuide Forum 🕰

You can check it out on Medium:

Splash Mountain II: Dreams Do Come True

I hope you enjoy reading it, I hope you're satisfied. 😀 But if you ain't, don't blame me...

Disneyland Paris News & Rumours / Land owned by DLP
Last post by norhel - July 15, 2020, 05:37:48 PM
Hey everyone 😃

Just for fun, I had a look at DLP on Google Maps, and it got me thinking.
How much of the land in the area is owned by DLP?
Like for example all of the land inside of the circular road?
