Title: 15th Anniversary CD(s)
Post by: Kristof on July 09, 2006, 07:01:27 PM
Grandmath reports on Disney Central Plaza that Vasile Sirli is producing a double album for the 15th Anniversary.   8)   More news is not yet know.

Hopefully, the new album won't contain the some old songs that they have been using for the past 15 years. Sure, they're nice songs, but every cd-buyer has them already (multiple times!).

A double album?!  Awesome news!  :o  :o  As Sam says, I hope they find room in there for lots of new tracks...

That would be superb. They have enough possible music to fill a 6-CD box set like DLR's 50th anniversary, so they have a lot to pick from! I too hope stuff that hasn't previously been released will make it on to these discs. To let everyone hear The Tarzan Encounter, Cinemagique etc, would sure make a lot of people happy.

So... any surefire guesses as to what they might include?  Here's a few of my own guesses:

- 15th Anniversary theme song? (They did one for the 10th, and didn't even have a proper celebration for it, so a 15th song is possible...)
- Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade Theme Song/Soundtrack
- Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast (Astro Blasters track copied from DL's 50th stuff)
- Toon Studio stuff?
- Wishes? Fantillusion? Good Morning WDS?
- New song/music from adapted Winnie the Pooh show

With a double album they could have one CD of new/recent music relating to the actual 15th Anniversary celebrations, and then the 2nd CD could feature music from the archives.

Hey,

I am sorry for writing in this old thread, but the last post is a long time ago and I would like to know when the CD release date is?

So does anyone know if there will be really a double CD and when it will be released?

Please answer :D

I'm not sure about a double CD anymore, but there will definitely be a CD Single-priced release (5.95€) very soon (next weekend, perhaps, maybe!).

I'm guessing this will be Just Like We Dreamed It.

The 10th Anniversary CD wasn't released until May of 2002, so a 15th CD could technically come at any point... :? It's a shame we haven't heard anything for a while though, like you say.

The Just like we dreamed it Single is available from now on for 5,50 with Instrumental Version, too.

I heard that it is now clear that there will be a double album

The CD Single of "Just Like We Dreamed It" can now be found at The Emporium and The Storybook Store definitely, maybe a few more soon. :)

It's just the original song and instrumental, but it has a special shiny sticker on it saying something like "Music from the 15th Anniversary" so hopefully there will be more.

I'd love the "All Aboard" song from Characters Express, just so I can sit at home and go "choo choo" *does arm action* all day.

Well that double album should be in the shops this week!

It's basically a mix of the 5th and 10th anniversary CDs, with a load extra thrown in. The more recent tracks of Chante C'et Noel, It's Halloween-Lo-Ween and La-Di-Da etc and some brand new music not published before will be on it too, such as music from The Tarzan Encounter, Le Carnaval des Feux, Winnie The Pooh and Friends Too and to name but a few. I've put the tracklisting online

I'm dead excited, an we're still due at least another relase. Fingers crossed it will be an anniversary year CD, with an official copy of BougIllumination, Characters' Exress and DOUADP on it! Mixed correctly, it should all fit   Failing that, just a DOUADP CD would go down well    8)

The tracklisting link:
http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/mai ... bumCD.html (http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/mailorder/15yearsalbumCD.html)

Well "woohoo" it's a double album at DLRP! But honestly, I've never been less excited by a CD.  Just a complete rehash of what everyone probably already owns, with about 2 new tracks and an unhealthy obsession with that new Winnie the Pooh song...

I wish they'd put half these tracks to sleep and give us something interesting.  Maybe even - horror of horrors - some attraction music?!
Title:
Post by: Kris on April 11, 2007, 04:57:13 PM
Oh I can remember being less excited about a new release. Take the more recent issue of the Fantillusion disc, with the wrong duration time on it and all track we've heard before. Then there's the simple re-packaging of Dancin'.

All the fans of other resorts say we're spoilt and their parks should take note of what DLRP does, but really, we do just keep getting the same music over and over, I agree. For those who were not around for the 5th or 10th anniversary albums however, this is kinda special. There's also 12 new tracks that haven't been published before, plus the new anniversary theme that wasn't available until like a week ago or so. It's quite a line-up, although a more dedicated set of discs would have been even better. I'm very surprised SMM2 isn't there though

As for the Winnie music, I guess they were just trying to fill time up on the discs, to cram as much on there as possible and, being a DLRP composition, it was cheap to add on. The CD durations are impressive though! Really couldn't have got much more on there  :D
Title:
Post by: tubbsy on April 11, 2007, 05:59:38 PM
Is it worth the 15:00 Euros I wonder?....... :?

I've resisted before and have followed the link to look at and listen to whats on the new cd. If I had bought c'ds from DLRP before, i think I would be disappointed, but I am tempted to get this one, just so that I have the music I want on one disk.....

BUT if you havent been a regular visitor to DLRP a lot of this music isnt going to mean a thing. They could have put on more songs from other attractions and I cant see the All Aboard music on there Baloo. No choo chooing at home for you! :(

That´s realy more than less exciting. I hoped for the music from the Candleabration and some real area tracks.

Post by: Kris on April 26, 2007, 04:38:11 PM
Just updated the link above that goes to the info about the CD actually. I've made a few changes to the tracklist too, but notice the song durations on the packaging don't match up with the tune itself.

This is because the frist CD has been mixed together just like the DLR 50th anniversary collection, with sounds from the parks, atmos, announcements etc. Really nice infact and it's quite different to what we've heard before.

I've put accurate samples of the page now, rather than diving into my own collection to demonstrate what tracks sound like. Mickey's Shuttle now incoprerates the Disneyland Park opening announcement, Feel the Magic is a French/English edit, The Toons Are Coming is a nicely shortend mix, Strangers Like Me is a mix of instrumental music from the Tarzan and Jane routine in the sky and Pays du Merveilleux is in French and English too. Nice variations there, and of course there's all the other never-before-released tracks too.

It's a pretty interesting collection for any guest, although the last tracks on CD 2 are pretty poor. Having the Wishes aftershow/park close theme would have been a nicer way to close it off for example (considering CD 1 has the opening announcement). Three "Just Give A Snap"s is too much for ANYONE to enjoy
Title:
Post by: Anthony on April 26, 2007, 04:55:28 PM
Thanks. :)

I hate "Just Give A Snap" with a passion... And is that Kat de Blois doing an announcement over the weird Donald "Quack in Time" track?

I suppose it's a pretty good CD really if you like entertainment music, lots on there and surprising just how much original music we've had in 15 years (and they only used a tiny amount).  The only track I'd actually listen to would be the Tarzan Encounter though.  It's a bit too much "Vasile's greatest hits" for my liking, I wish our CDs weren't done by the entertainment people, obviously makes them a bit biased what music they include compared to the US CDs which are the opposite with 99% attraction music. And we have a-m-a-z-i-n-g attraction music.

Would it have been so devastating for them to replace one of those "Just Give a Snap"'s with a spot of Le Visionarium? :P
Title:
Post by: Kris on April 26, 2007, 08:48:37 PM
Yeah I described it as "Vasile's Greatest Hits" too, but who could blame him wanting one?

It's so strange not including the attraction soundtracks, but it "has" to be cheaper for the resort to publish their own studio-made work than recorded by various orchestras/performers which has been heavily copyrighted for years.

I have to say that it does represent great value though and it's a good listen. I'm not bored of it yet

In another Forum it said that there would be 4 discs for the 15th anniversery and so I was wondering wheather anyone knows about what the other disc because we've had three already.

I hope it's an album for the music of the 15th birthday; charector express etc. :)

Picked up the CD, quite nice

2 CD's
CD1 - Promenade dans le Parc
CD2 - Les Chansons

Each lasting just under 77 minutes

Also a nice little booklet inside about why music is important to DLRP and a little biography about guess who..

According to this link : http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/mai ... bumCD.html (http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/mailorder/15yearsalbumCD.html)
there are no 15th songs beside Just Like We Dreamed It/Once Upon A Dream on the CD.

Would you recommend it anyways, is the CD worth its 20 euros?!

And @ Baloo: On your site you have a few songs of the 15th, f.e. 2 of Candlabration or of the Crush interior. Where did you get them, are they also available on CD?!

I have the Double-CD and it is worth the Money. Not only the new parade song, on the CD you will find songs from the older years from parades and shows plus the Entree when the Disneyland Park open his gates on CD 1.
