Title: Dec 17 - Dec 19 Disney
Post by: jackieann on December 20, 2009, 06:10:54 PM
Hi all

My family and i arrived home at 23.40 last night after a complete nightmare of a trip home! in all this was not our most enjoyable Disney trip. Partly because it was so cold but no one is to blame for that and it was December.

We drove from Folkestone getting on the eurotunnel, which was nice and easy.  When we arrived in France it was snowing and COLD and as we drove and got closer to Paris snow was hander and roads were really bad and quite scary and some people drive so fast i dont know how they didnt have an accident but we managed it in 4 hours so not to bad.  Could not book into our room so went to the park.  Went on priates and a few others but kids started crying (aged 4 and 2) cos they were cold so went back to Cheynne to check in.  When we arrived in our room it had a funny smell so after 2 phone calls the bedding was changed (as it seemed to be that that smelt) 1st problem i have had in our 5 visits to Disney.  Had dinner in Hotel.  Was go glad to get in bed.

2nd day we were better prepared and wrapped up more the snow looked so lovely like a picture postcard. Highlights from today were Playhouse disney show the kids loved it more so my 2 year old son was shouting pooh mickey etc was lovely to see his face!  also my Daughter LOVES priates ride and went on that again.  had dinner at the mickey cafe that was fantastic (food not the best) but my son was shouting when ever he saw mickey minnie hook eyoree and loads more and cryed when hook came over my daughter just smiled a big grin at him and he gave her the thumbs up and she did back to him.  They really should do Mickey cafe in all big citys the world over London, NY, milan etc they would make a killing!!! dont you think???

final day started well. EMH so went on Buzz as had been closed the pasted 2 days one of my faves when we walked right on then when we came out the que was 45 minutes never ever seen ques like that apart from crush coaster so was glad we went there 1st then went on peter pan twice love that one to. then got the news that eurotunnel were stopping trains to! so was a bit of a panic and after trying to find out from train station and disneyland hotel went back to our hotel to try find out what was going on.  My sister managed to book us a ferry home (which we thought great) so left the hotel at 14.40 as we had the kids we didnt want to be stranded so after some BIG traffic problems we went to ferry port which was also jammed with lorrys EVERYWHERE so went to eurotunnel and managed to get on there so spent 106 euros on nothing (going to try get that back).  Was so glad on get on home land.

just to note i felt so so sorry for the lorry drivers all stuck in dover there were 100's of them all parked up along at motorway was closed to cars for miles, had to see it to believe it counted about 8 mins going at 60/70 MPH and there were lorries the whole stretch. some i would think will be there for days.  just hope they are warm and have some food!!

anyhows i am off now, sorry if some of this does not read right but kids need sorting now!

Merry Christmas eveyone!!! :D
