Title: Breeno's Trip Report 9th-13th July 2009
Post by: -breeno- on July 08, 2009, 01:40:47 AM
Hey,

As some of you may know, i'm off to the magic place on Thursday :D/  Can't wait!   So, i thought i'd make this topic a little early, just incase there is anything you would like me to take photos of for you etc or find out something for you :)

So if there's anything you'd like me to do while i'm there, just say! :D

Also, the full report will appear as soon as possible when i return, and i might make the odd post in here when i'm at DLP, depending on whether i can find a wifi spot for my Ipod Touch or not.

Have a fantastic time breeno, just take plenty of photos and if you're like me when you get back to your hotel room on the night, sit on the bed with your feet up and write a few notes on what happened that day.  It helps me remember when I get back home of all the ups and downs, excitment and strange occurences of each day..    :D

Once again, have a Disney Magical time as ever, and I'll await your Trip Report with those all important photos..    :D

Well could you please oh please  :D , take some pictures of the Walt Disney Classics Collection displays at Harrington's Fine China & Porcelains and at New York Boutique. I'd like to see what items they have during this period.
I hope you have a fantastic time (well you will have, because you are going to Disneyland  ).

Thanks everyone for your comments :D

I'll try and do everything that has been requested, although last night in my last minute checks i noticed by camera won't turn on!!  I'm hoping and praying that it's because the batteries are dead, but if the worst comes to the worse i'll have my mobile phone (not a great camera though, only 5MP).

Also Javey, yep i've got myself a little notepad and will be taking notes :D  Going to note down all the requests in a minute.

This is most likely be my last post until i return unless i can get online with my Ipod Touch (unlikely though).  In which case i hope everyone takes care and stays safe and i'll be back here on the 13th :D

See ya :D/

Bummer! Something similar happened to me last time I went too; I was doing the last minute checks then found the video camera wasn't charged.  #-o Very annoying since I'd planned everything I wanted to film that day!

Anyway, hope you're having a fantastic trip. You'd better get on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster this time!

Hey everyone!

Just want to let you all know that i'm now back, got a case of the DLP blues now though :(

Anyway i had an amazing time, got a lot to do though before i can start my trip report.  Unpacking, uploading photos etc.  Early calculations suggest i have the best part of 700-800 photos, although that's including the ones i haven't bothered deleting, and shall go into the "folder of fail", more on that in the report ;)

Also David, yeah we do usually stay at Newport Bay, but we went for Santa Fe as it was the cheaper option this year :)

Once i get things sorted i'll start my trip report as soon as possible.  Then i can take you on a tale of fond old memories, new ones i'll never forget, the scenes of 06 reliving and how this trip has inspirered me to sort my life out.

As I said, there's a lot of things to do when you get back, before you can even contemplate starting your report..

As for the Santa Fe, what did you think of it in general compared to the Newport Bay, obviously a lower grading and that, but what did you make of it for it's value..  :?:

Pleased to hear your trip has got you thinking positive with a new way forward..  :D/

Yeah your right it is a lower grade to NPB but really i didn't mind.  It's still a great little hotel.  Although something happened there which kinda overshadowed our stay there.  All will be explained in the coming days (or possibly weeks, depending on whether laptop decides to work for a change).

Good news...

If you have seen the How is your going thread then you will already know that my desktop is now virus free :D/   So, without further ado, let's get this show on the road with...

Day 1 (9th July 2009)

The start of my holiday if im being honest, started the night before the day of the holiday.  I said my goodbyes to my friend i usually play PS3 with (we play PS3 and talk on msn all the time) and then sat down to watch the traditional pre-holiday film, but first a last minute check, the camera.  I tried to turn it on, to check how much memory i had left of the card, but i was surprised to see that the battery had already died, i haven't had the camera long so i expect the battery life to be longer and last the holiday.  So i searched the house for AA batteries and i found some in the old reliable Sky remote, but, to my shock, they wouldn't turn the camera on either   This then left me with two conclusions, either the batteries didn't have enough energy in them to power a camera, or the camera, which i only bought a month or so ago, was broke.  I then tried to set this aside and sat down to watch the holiday film, which was Carry On Aboard, love that film, always gets me in the holiday mood.  Once the film was over it was around midnight so it was best to head off to bed, had a long day ahead of me, starting at 6:00am.

So on to the first day of my holiday, which actually started an hour later than it should have.  The night before we set the phone (reminder call on the landline, we use it instead of an alarm clock) for 6:00am N. Ireland time.  Although, i didn't wake up until 7:00am, my parents were up from 6am.  How on earth i managed to stay in bed for another hour on the day on the holiday i have no idea, maybe it was because i found it hard to sleep the previous night (i wonder why? ;) ).  After i did wake up, i got out of bed and headed straight to where i usually go in the morning, the laptop :P  And straight onto the first in my favourites, which is also the first thing i go on 99% of the time when i hit the web.. the Magic Forum.  So i went on to say my goodbyes to here and PESFan (the other forum im a regular member on), and took the liberty of taking a photo of it..
Then, i shut down the laptop and got washed and dressing, i remember there being a mad rush for socks by me   it's extremely difficult to find a good pair of socks in this house sometimes.  Just before we went out the door and into the car i went back into my bedroom to grab my jacket, and i couldn't help but to look at the on-ride photo i have on me, on the first ever ride on the Tower of Terror, brought back good memories, memories i would be experiencing again very, very soon.
Don't know if any of you remember, but i promised a while back that i'd post that pic on here sometime, see i keep to my word ;) (also if anyone doesn't know which one is me, i'm in the blue  )

Then, after i left my room, i grabbed my suitcase and followed my parents out to the car, we dumped our cases into the boot (well when i say boot, only my case could fit fully in the boot, my mum's stretched across from the boot, through the folded down backseat and into the back and my dad's lay across the floor in the back, just about leaving me room in the back of the car)
Before you say it no, that's not my suitcase   Also you can kinda see what i was wearing through the reflection.

Then came the 2 hour car journey to Belfast International Airport, the holiday is almost there!
An excited and rather young looking Breeno, in the car driving along the Fermanagh roads.

The traffic leaving Enniskillen wasn't too bad, the usual for a Thursday morning when the schools are off.  As we slowly but surely left the county i remember hearing the late Michael Jackson song "Beat It" appear on the radio, now i'm usually not the one to sing along to songs on the radio but, this was no ordinary day, as i've said before to my friend, i was using this holiday to relax, clear my head of things and have fun.  So i sang along to the MJ classic, i was surprised i knew as many of the lyrics as i do :P  As we moved along in our journey we eventually headed onto the motorway (no idea what name it is, can any the N. Ireland members help me here?) and i noticed that we were being overtaken by the worst cars possible   Now we were in a Toyota Yaris, which i'll admit doesn't exactly have the power of a Ferrari, but i was sat in the back watching the likes of Ford Ka's overtaking us (no offence to Ka drivers by the way, they are a cool little car) :P  As the airport loomed nearer and nearer, it started to rain, heavily.  This reminded me of the weather forecasts i read on the internet for Paris throughout the week.  The majority said everyday would be fine, but some said that today (Thursday) and the Sunday would have some rain, i was hoping that would be wrong!  The journey to Belfast felt like a lifetime, maybe it was because of my excitedness for the holiday, or maybe it was because of my dad's slow driving, either way, i was happy when we arrived at the airport.

When we arrived at Belfast International Airport we proceeded straight to the long stay car park we pre-booked the night before.  But, when we arrived we seen a sign blocking the entrance saying "Car park full, use Q park 'n' fly car park".  After asking a member of staff where this "Q park 'n' fly car park" was, we then drove on to it.  Sadly it was further away from the airport so we had to take a bus to the airport, rather than just walking to the airport like we usually do at the long stay car park.  We entered the airport it was about 10:30am, and our flight was due for take off at 11:50am.  So we checked in and noticed on the television screens that our gate closed at 11:30am, so we had about an hour of shopping, great  :P  If you've ever been in Belfast International you'll know that there are some shops and a restaurant between check-in and security, unfortunately all of the shops in this part were closed due to their 1,000,000th refurb (honestly it's all they seem to do in that airport), this wasn't good for me, as i planned to have a good look in the news agent for the latest PSM3 to read on the plane and, more importantly, batteries for my camera.  We then went through security and onto the other shops.  Thankfully, there was a WHSmith in this part of the airport, and i eventually found the issue of PSM3, it had a big article about the upcoming PES game, a must read for me.  Sadly i couldn't find batteries in here, but fortunately there was a Boots just beside it.  It was then i noticed the problem all along why the AA batteries from the remote wouldn't work, the camera only took V3 batteries, not AAs. #-o  So i bought a V3 battery, cost about €9, bit steep in my opinion.

As the clocked ticked on, our departure time drew nearer and nearer, so we then headed down to the departure lounge.
Me in the departure lounge, looking at tired as ever.

There wasn't a lot going on in the departure lounge, but my mum did get into conversation with a young mum going on the same flight, she had about 4 or 5 kids with her, oldest being about 6 or 7, youngest being a baby.  She said that she was going to France for 17 days with the whole family and will be visiting DLP before they leave.  We didn't get talking to her after that though, shame.

It wasn't long until our flight was called for boarding, and we boarded out Aer Lingus Airbus something something which was going none stop to CDG Aiport, Paris :D/

TO BE CONTINUED...

Ok, time to continue this :D

Day 1 - Part 2

So we went onto our Aer Lingus flight, got our seats, put our hand luggage under the seat, in my case was my camera bag, put our choice of reading material in the net thing on the seat in front (which was the PSM3 mag for me) and sat back and waited for take off... which was a bit late.  The reason for this was two people who were suppose to be on the flight then at the last minute decided not to fly, so obviously their luggage had to be taken off the plane.  That left us a bit behind schedule but i didn't care, as long as i got to Paris that was all i care :P  Anyway as for the flight itself it was fine, managed to get a good read through that magazine, especially the part i wanted to read the most, which was the exclusive hands-on preview of PES 2010, i won't bore you all with the details but to put it simple, i'm looking forward to the game  :P  Oh and another thing, if you're ever on an Aer Lingus flight i strongly recommend getting the chicken and stuffing sandwiches, they're the nicest sandwiches i've ever tasted, and i'm a big fan of my sandwiches   The only down side of the flight was these three kids behind us were kicking our seats for the entire journey.  Well, they weren't exactly kicking the seats, what they were doing was putting the trays down, then racing to see who could push theirs up the fastest.  Not good    I was very close to doing one of three things, telling a member of staff the problem so they would sort it out, turn round and tell them myself to quit it, or tell their parents (who was sitting across from them, in perfect view of what was happening) what their kids are up to.  I did none of these things though, didn't want to have to get angry on my holiday.

The plane touched down in CDG airport at around 3:10pm France time (i think) and we proceeded on our way into terminal 1, my favourite airport terminal, why?  Because it's the one with all them escalators!   We then picked up our luggage, which thankfully didn't take long, and went downstairs to the VEA Coach section.  As we went along to the VEA Coach area we were stopped twice by a man.  He asked us if we were going to the VEA coach, to which we said yes, then he told us that he was a taxi and would bring us there for €50 (which he said is cheaper than VEA's €70, is that right?  I'm not 100% sure).  We agreed to this and then followed him outside and into his taxi, which was a white mini bus, can't remember the make.  Also another family with two small children went with us on the taxi, we didn't get chatting to them but they were going to Santa Fe as well, so an easy drive for the taxi driver :P  I got into the taxi, got my seat and then went to fasten my seat belt, but something was wrong.  The seat belt was stuck between my seat and the one to my left (which my dad was sitting in), i tried a number of times to pull it out but no matter how long i tried it wouldn't budge.  Bit dangerous in my opinion, i would of informed the driver but i didn't because he was on his bluetooth headset for the majority of the journey and, seemed a little annoyed when he was talking through the headset.  Hopefully his future passengers won't be as much of a coward as me.
From the taxi on our way to Santa Fe, getting close!

We reached Santa Fe at around 4:05pm, we then got our luggage out of the taxi, paid the driver and went on our way.  Although after the taxi left my dad told me that one of the back lights on the mini bus was smashed, my dad knew this because the other family made a joke about it to the driver.  This got me thinking, i remembered back in February Javey said in his trip report that he took a taxi to his hotel, and the taxi had a broken light.  Just wondering David was it a back light or front?  I know its unlikely but maybe we travelled in the same taxi, the driver kinda had curly, black hair if that's any help :?:

Anyway we walked into the Santa Fe entrance and i noticed this as soon as i walked in
(//http://i27.tinypic.com/358xe1t.jpg)
Notice anything wrong with this photo ;)
Not a good photo, but you can just about make out the cowboy hat which is no longer there, something needs an update :P

After i spent almost forever trying to get a decent photo of that i joined my parents to the check-in, where we got our card key etc.  Our room was in building 33, room 225
(//http://i27.tinypic.com/e8trh3.jpg)
When we got into the room we noticed something straight away, it's a much smaller room compared to Newport Bay.  We've stayed in NPB for quite a few years in a row now, but due to money we went for the cheaper option this year so the size of the room seemed different to us, as did the lack of room between the bathroom and doorway.  We didn't mind though, it's all the same place at the end of the day.  I then decided to get a few snaps of the room, but, a few weeks ago i noticed a panoramic option on my camera, i had to try it out :D

Our room

The view from our room

After we had unpacked everything and got changed into a fresh pair of clothes my dad informed us he was starving, myself and my mum were a bit hungry too, what with the travelling and all that.  We decided to have dinner early, so we went down to see when the Santa Fe restaurant, La Cantina, opened for dinner.  La Cantina opened at 6:00pm, so we had about an hour to kill.  As we walked about Santa Fe, in the shop, around the reception etc, all the memories i had from when i was younger all came rushing back.  This was the first time i was in this hotel since i was about 9, which was 6 years ago, but all the memories that came back were from when i was a lot younger, i remember many a time me and my cousin used to race up that corridor, and spent all night in that arcade, good times :P  Also, as we walked around the circle kind of room outside the La Cantina entrance (where the cardboard cutout Mickey is), i noticed this for the first time
(//http://i26.tinypic.com/2v86b2o.jpg)
(picture taken at different time)
We walked up the staircase i found waiting for us at the top... internet machines!  "I'll go on one of these later" i thought, didn't really want to go on the internet just as i arrived.  Anyway also in the room was a door, and if you walked out the door (like we did) you would find this
(//http://i29.tinypic.com/29qbfp2.jpg)
Yep, thats the roof of the hotel   So i decided to get a few snaps from here
(//http://i25.tinypic.com/2up71c8.jpg)
Whats that i see over there? ;)
Also, forgot to mention this, i seen this when we were walking to La Cantina, does anyone know why these buildings are black and white?  As oppose to the usual Redish?

By the time we were finished exploring the roof it was time for dinner, so headed back down the staircase and to La Cantina.  We decided to use our first 3 half board tickets to pay for this.  For dinner i had pasta & bologneses and Mexican chicken, and for dessert i had chocolate mousse and chocolate pie.  I have to say it was DELICIOUS!  One of the best chicken i've ever tasted, and THE best dessert i've ever had!  I would strongly recommend La Cantina to anyone even if they aren't staying in Santa Fe, it's amazing.  And i haven't even mentioned the best bit, it's all you can eat!

By the time we were finished (which took a looong time, due to by dad going up and down for seconds, thirds and fourths) it was approaching 7:00pm, time for the parks now me thinks!

TO BE CONTINUED...

great report but I want more, more more! :P

I have never noticed those stairs in the Santa Fe before.. I get the feeling perhaps that door at the bottom of them is closed. I wonder were you really allowed on that roof.. is that not kinda like dangerous for guests hehe

I noticed those Black and white buildings too...maybe they just ran out of red-y/orange paint :P

Can't wait to read more!

Thanks for your comments :D

Sorry it's a little short, in a bit of a rush tonight.  But, i have ALL day tomorrow to conclude the first day

Aveen - no it's not really that dangerous, they have pretty high walls at either end of the path and there's a good stretch of fencing between where the path is to the end of the building, so it'd be pretty hard to fall off

I really enjoyed reading that breeno.  It brings back memories of some flights I've had with Easyjet with kids doing the same things with their trays, and with the parents looking on thinking it's funny..   :x

Just mentioning the Santa Fe, gets me alert since it's a hotel we have spend 5 out of the 6 visits in.  The cardboard Mickey just outside La Cantina, all to memorable from February..  :D/  :D/  :D/

By the way, that taxi ride, I don't think it was Marc, the one who drove us there and back in Feb 09, he had shorter grey/black hair, wore glasses, really nice to talk to aswell.  But the seatbelt you mentioned had a definite ring of memory with the first taxi we got to DLRP on our 4th visit, mentioned in my first trip report I ever wrote on here..

Love the roof shots, I can't say I've been up there.  I'll have a wander up next time me thinks to look at those views..

Thanks for that update on your report, really brought back all the memories from our last trip. I must say looking at the photos and just talking about the Santa Fe in general got me tingling..  8)

See how easy I'm getting excited now, and that's before you've really started..

Looking ever forward to the rest..  :D/  :D/  :D/

Time for the third and final part of Day 1 :D

Day 1 - Part 3

So we left La Cantina and to the bus stop area outside the hotel, then i remembered something Javey said in his trip report.  I remembered him saying that Santa Fe only has one bus, whereas Cheyenne had two, but it didn't matter just yet, as we arrived to the bus stop in perfect timing, just as the bus arrived.  We then entered the bus and before we knew it, was at our destination, the bus stops.  So we walked past the Disney Village,
(//http://i31.tinypic.com/okrbcl.jpg)
And the Studios, which now was closed,
(//http://i26.tinypic.com/2cfzh8p.jpg)
Past the security tents, along Fantasia gardens, through the Disneyland Hotel and ended up in...
Main Street USA, i was home

We walked up Main Street and straight to the information sign, to check queue times, where i noticed Plaza Gardens was under a refurb
(//http://i31.tinypic.com/33encj4.jpg)

Star Tours had an usual short queue, so we headed over to Discoveryland, to ride Star Tours for the first time since i've watched the Star Wars movies.  Star Tours is the reason i wanted to see the Star Wars movies, and now i'm a huge fan of them.  But would the experience be any different, now i understand the story better, know who the aliens in the queue are etc?  And i'm happy to say, it did.  It was a better all round experience because i got a few more of the gags etc.  I spent ages studying the poster at the start of the queue with the Star Wars planets, glad to see all them are present that were in the original trilogy.  Although, i probably looked like a real nerd when i was on it, as i was constantly telling my mum Star Tours trivia, like the way it's the actual Chewie in the video before boarding, and the story about George Lucas and the camera.  What made me look more like a nerd though was what i was wearing, a Star Wars t-shirt    As for the ride itself it was great as usual.  A little thing that always makes me chuckle at the end, as soon as the screen goes up and C3PO starts talking again, everyone goes to unfasten their seat belts, but they're still locked in until the doors open, it's funny hearing the sound of everyone's belt clicking and the confused faces all round :P  Once leaving the ride i got to work attempting to take photos of the posters at the exit, and as you can see, failing :P
(//http://i29.tinypic.com/vqnw5u.jpg)
After that we then went along the exit to the arcade
(//http://i25.tinypic.com/mhr7es.jpg)
Thats the t-shirt i was wearing, you can also notice i need to fix the red eye on that photo, although it makes me look evil.  I'm moving closer to the dark side of the force

Space Mountain had too long of a queue and wasn't doing the fastpass anymore so there was no point going on it tonight, so we left Discoveryland, walked past the castle
(//http://i32.tinypic.com/2mhabgy.jpg)

And to the wild west that is Frontierland
(//http://i30.tinypic.com/vz7o9h.jpg)

Like Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain's queue was too long and had no fastpass operating, so it was a no go, time to pay a visit to Ravenswood Manor then

One of the many doors i would like to go through

The ride itself was no different, fantastic as usual.  Apart from 3 little faults, the skeleton that climbs out of the grave wasn't working, the 2nd singing head from the left was a bit dimmer compared to the other three and the end Phantom's jaw wasn't moving, apart from that everything else was working perfectly.

After that we took a quick look in the shop in Frontierland (is there only 1?) before we dandered off to Adventureland, where i spotted this and just had to get a photo wearing it :P
(//http://i30.tinypic.com/2uq2em9.jpg)
You can't really see it right but it's one of them reggee hats, i ended up buying one a few days later

After that it was time to get my daily dose of thrill on Indiana Jones :D  Was only the 2nd time i've ever been on it, but i still loved it.  I remember thinking to myself when i stepped off the train to the exit, "I'm finally here" 8)  :P

After that we walked past Hakuna Matata and noticed something i haven't seen in a long, long time
(//http://i30.tinypic.com/nmlykp.jpg)
It was open! :o  :P   I don't know if it's just me but every time we've went to DLP it's always been closed, apart from the early years when i was just a kid, i was a little shocked to see it actually opened.

It was about 9:05pm now, and somehow the queue for POTC was 20 minutes, couldn't really be bothered wait that long so we headed out of Adventureland via the main entrance.

Sorry for the bad photo but i think i found who laid this egg

:P

We then ended up back in Main Street

Now, i remember The Helmsman asked me if i could get some photos of Harrington's, so, keeping to my word, i did.
Apologies for the bad quality photos, hope i got what you were looking for!

Also, Honey asked me to check the price of the Vinyl Disney Line.  Well Honey, a large one is €39.90, and a small one is €9.90 :D

We then had a look through all the shops on the right side of Main Street, including
(//http://i28.tinypic.com/2ce5e8m.jpg)

We then left Main Street via Liberty arcade and exited the park, at this stage it was reaching towards 10:15pm so we decided to get back to the hotel.  But, when we were waiting for the Santa Fe bus, we noticed something
(//http://i27.tinypic.com/e8vgol.jpg)
Where has the seats gone?  Surely they weren't stolen, how could someone manage walk off with one of them?  Let alone two!

Anyway after our long wait for the bus we eventually arrived back at Santa Fe, where we decided to head to the bar to relax.  Now here's something interesting.  Where we sat was the exact same place we sat 6 years ago when i was last in the hotel, which was the second circular table to the left as soon as you walk in.  Anyway as for the bar it was great, wasn't too busy but nor was it empty.  Had a glass of coca-cola or two (and i'm wearing a brace, naughty naughty    ).  Then, around midnight or so, we left the bar to get back to the hotel room for some well earned rest.

And that concludes day 1 of my Trip Report :D  I should get to work on day 2 either tonight or tomorrow.

Another real interesting read breeno, though I can't remember saying anything about the bus quantities between the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne.  I know we walked to the Cheyenne more as it was easier to get on there than the length of the queues at the Santa Fe bustop..  :?

By the way did you see how much they were selling the Disney Tradition Princesses on horse back, probably more than here I expect (£24.99 - £28.99)..  :)

Also I always loved that neon Road Runner, thanks for taking a shot of that..  =D>

Once again thanks for sharing, I'm now looking forward to the next update..  :D/  :D/  :D/

Thanks again everyone for your comments :D

Day 2: 10th July 2009 - Part 1

The second day of the holiday began at 6:45am, with the theme tune of the Twilight Zone buzzing through my head.  No, i wasn't dreaming of the Tower of Terror, I set my phone alarm for 6:45am, with the Twilight Zone as the alarm tone :P  Once i finally got out of bed (being in DLP doesn't stop me being lazy it seems) i then spent a lifetime in the bathroom getting ready, i'm like that sometimes.  When i was eventually out of the bathroom i then got dressed and sat down to write some notes in my notebook as my parents took their turns in the bathroom.  According to what i wrote i was listening to Kanye West - Homecoming on my ipod, but i can also recall me listening to Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts, Just Like We Dreamed It and The Magic of Disneyland by Tim Babb ( ).  Our breakfast was at 7:30am and once we were ready we set off for then.  As for breakfast it was lovely as it always it in DLP, i had cereal, 2 chocolat du pains (that spelled right?) and a few glasses of milk.  Not that much, but breakfast went on and on and on.  The reason?  My dad LOVES breakfast in DLP, it's the only time of the year he actually has breakfast, the amount of stuff he eats at breakfast is not normal   And there's never left overs :P

After we finally got out of breakfast we went to catch the bus to the hotel, and when i was on the bus i noticed something.  As we drove past Santa Fe i spotted that some of buildings could do with a fresh lick of paint, this photo kind of proves this
(//http://i28.tinypic.com/6riws9.jpg)

Anyway once we were off the bus we then headed straight to Disneyland Park to make full use of the EMH, and i spotted this just as i entered Main Street
(//http://i32.tinypic.com/vdcwas.jpg)
Refurb?  Repair?  Cleaning?

I then kept my camera on to get some snaps of a rather quiet Main Street, and of the castle as we moved closer to it

We then walked through the castle and ended up in Fantastyland
(//http://i27.tinypic.com/978rqo.jpg)

Peter Pan had a short queue (which it usually does during EMH) so we decided to ride it.  Just like last year (which was the first time i was on it in years) i can understand why the queues are so bad for it, just a shame nothing can be done about them.  After our flight through Neverland we had a walk past Alice's Curious something (sorry! Don't know the full name  ) where i got a photo in that chair

We then walked past IASW (which doesn't open during EMH sadly) and to Discoveryland
(//http://i30.tinypic.com/t8otom.jpg)
Hidden Mickey ;)

Upon arriving in Discoveryland i remembered Kristof's latest Photo Magiques trip report, and if i recall correctly this building (can't remember exactly what it is, something to do with AP) was under refurb
(//http://i29.tinypic.com/x3eh5i.jpg)
And that the lava rocks had the water back on, and, a few days later, was still on :P
(//http://i27.tinypic.com/35bdq13.jpg)

Another thing i remember Kristof reporting was that the Buzz in the queue of Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast was broke, so i had to go on it, to find out if he was fixed.  And i'm happy to say, he was back working again after his Sunday evening hangover :P
(//http://i26.tinypic.com/1grxvs.jpg)

After Buzz the next attraction to go on was clear, i first time for me.  Space Mountain: Mission 2!  Why i haven't been on it earlier i don't know, i just never have.  So this was my first time in Space Mountain since 6 years ago when old mission 1 was still operating.  And oh have i forgot a lot about it.  I had forgotten nearly everything that was in the queue (apart from the television, which randomly has always stuck in my mind) but i could easily remember the old loading area, which had the French flags hanging from the roof.  I was sad to see that they've been replaced with "Mission 2" flags, shame.  Anyway onto the ride, and it was awesome!  I had forgotten so much about mission 1 i even forgot what it was like.  Words can't describe how much i enjoyed SM though, i wish i got the on ride photo now, but then again, i looked rather boring in it (just me in a very serious face  ).

After my ride through space it was around 8:30am, so we thought we'd head over to the Studios for a quick fastpass of ToT and do two more rides for the first time, Armageddon and Rock n Roller Coaster!

TO BE CONTINUED...

Sorry for Part 1 being so short, i had planned it to be longer but earlier i had most of it done, then i accidently clicked on something on the page, and when i clicked back nearly all of it disappeared.  Meaning i had to pretty much start again from scratch.  Part 2 and 3 will have more though.  Sorry again!

Still, another great instalment breeno, I love the Hidden Mickey one, I've never seen it from that angle before.  That's probably why I never noticed it..

Time for the next installment ("'BOUT TIME!!" i hear you shout :P   )

Day 2 - Part 2

So we left Disneyland Park and headed over to Walt Disney Studios Park, which didn't properly open until 10am so we had a little while to wait in the park before we could go on anything.  But, we seen the queuing had already started for one attraction
(//http://i25.tinypic.com/2a8jga8.jpg)
Yep you guessed it, thats the queue for [strike:1342m1mf]flying carpets[/strike:1342m1mf] Crush.  So that was a no for today.

So we decided to have a walkabout, where i seen the Stitch Live! building which was under refurb
(//http://i31.tinypic.com/23wu1ol.jpg)
You can also spot the new kiosk which is coming, look a lot more bare than it is now.  We then walked up Backlot, but nothing was open yet, perfect excuse for some photos
After that we then sat down by La Teressa to wait for ToT's fastpass to open and get a bite to eat.  But that didn't stop getting a few more snaps
(//http://i28.tinypic.com/2aer09l.jpg)
Just after i took the above photo, i looked around and saw this
(//http://i28.tinypic.com/5oe91g.jpg)
Yeah, i know i was kinda the wrong way round    Just my luck eh?  :P

We then got a quick bite from one of the trailers, by then ToT had opened, so, we fastpassed it and headed over to Rock n Rollercoaster, for me to go on it for the first time

From the moment i stepped into the building i was blown away.  Them concert posters and memorabilia are great, speaking of which, are they real or just replicas?  The pre-show is great as well.  Actually got a funny story from it.  As you know when you enter you hear someone say "please no flash photography", anyway someone decided not to listen to this and carried on taking photos.  But, when Steve something-or-other (lead singer of Aerosmith) walks in, timing couldn't be better.  Just as the guy took a photo with the flash on, Steve went "Hey!... Whats happening out there people?"  Also when he said "Hey!", it looked like he was actually pointing at the guy with the camera.  Made me laugh :P  Anyway onto the main attraction.  And it, was, AMAZING!!  I regret so much i didn't go on this earlier, oh how i loved it.  Everything was incredible, i even got the best soundtrack train on my first go (Love in an elevator and Walk this way) 8)  Why i say it's the best is because it's the only two songs in RnRC i know the words of, so i sang along, and i can't sing!  Those poor people on the train with me, they couldn't escape from a 15 year old Northern Ireland lad killing an Aerosmith classic

After i left the amazing ride that was RnRC we walked back down Backlot and seen two CMs trying to get people to go into Armageddon, so we joined them.  Why not?  Was another attraction i've never been on.  I remember reading on here and hearing from people that the pre-show is about 15 minutes, where the actually main show is on 5 minutes.  Anyway i have to say the pre-show is enjoyable, it's very cool the way they have Michael Clarke Duncan as narrator.  He's such a cool actor 8)  Although, it did seem to drag on, and i wouldn't want to watch it a number on times, which i would have to do if i wanted to go on this again.  Anyway onto the main show.  The main part of the attraction is very well done, good effects and everything.  Although it is a little short (especially after the pre-show) and there was a massive crowd in with us so we couldn't really get a good look around.

After are visit to the Russian Space Station our fastpass for the Tower of Terror was ready.  Finally, time to drop back into the Twilight Zone for the first time in a year    As usual, ToT was fantastic, the library show was in french and the main attraction audio was in english.  Can't really decided which one i prefer in English.  Not matter what it is though i always like to do my own dubbing with "The Twilight Zone" at the end :P

By now it was around 12:20am so we decided to leave WDS and head back to Disneyland Park.  And quite fittingly we left with the theme from the movie "The Great Escape" playing in the background

TO BE CONTINUED....

Very, very, very sorry this one is embarrassingly short.  Just need to find the time, which i can't :(

Thanks for squeezing that little update in there, I know it must be hard, finding the time. But if Pete asks, it took you ages as there was a lot of house work to do today..

Also, I've heard these Summer opening times have been playing havoc, but I didn't know that the Studios was open at 12:20am, and then to head back over to the DP, which must be still open after that..      Phheww..

It was really light aswell for that time..

Just one question...

I'm pretty certain I know what's on the other side of those. Why are you sitting taking multiple photos instead of running like a madman towards them ?
Oh wait, that's what I would have done

I can't believe that queue either. I didn't think Crush was that good to be perfectly honest, and def. not worth waiting 1/2 day to go on. You could cover most of WDS in the same time

Two reasons really;

1.  My parents were up at the trailer thing getting the food at this stage, i'm sure they would of loved it seeing me leg it after the Toon Train after paying a fortune on food :P

2.  I was very happy sitting on that bench, relaxing and enjoying the view (*cough* lazy *cough*)

I've been on Crush's Coaster only once, the queue was about 45 minutes then.
Now it's always almost more than an hour, I'd rather spend that time better.

And I think it's great that you sang along in the Rock 'n Roller Coaster.
First time I went on that one, I was so busy screaming I didn't even hear the music :P

Although in saying that I did queue once for like an hour to meet Cinderella :P    but hey she is royalty!

I think many people see the ride and think "hmm Crush coaster...well anything based on Finding nemo can't be bad, I love that film" and they go on it not realising it's a roller'coaster'! Also maybe people see the queue and think 'wow this must be a good ride look at that queue!' and they decide to join to see!! :P

that queue is kinda daunting if youve not been in the studios at that time in the morning, just bear in mind the ride isnt open so you are queueing from just outside the ride by cars, as soon as they open the queue area it moves pretty quick - then only 45 mins to go or 15 in our case last time  :D  :D  :D

loving the report so far  :D/  :D/  :D/

Or a camcorder. Film the report, then stick it onto YouTube.....no need for typing whatsoever.

Although, would anyone understand the accent?

Now that i should of done!  I'd say you would be the only person who would even have the slightest idea what i was saying (well, Aveen too).

"Well, i'm outside Tower of Terror here, i'm tar boiled with the hate, there's a while bad queue for Crush over there and there's some cub blurting beside me here."

Little game now to play while you wait for me to get the next installment up.  Who can successfully translate that from Fermanagh speak to correct English?

Well good luck everyone else! :P  If a man from the same country doesn't understand it, how are the people from everywhere going to cope, especially the people not from the UK :P

Tip, don't visit Fermanagh on your holidays, you'll just get confused and soaked with the rain.

roughly translates as

QuoteI say old bean, I am standing beside the impressive Tower of Terror theme park attraction in Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris. It's frightfully warm. There is also a ridiculous queue for a rollercoaster called Crush and some small child is making a mighty racket beside me. What ever happened to the old "children should be seen but not heard" that I was taught by my nanny?

It's all right, don't rush yourself. We've all gotten used to waiting. Tonight would be fine, next week even, or save it as a Xmas present for us.....it's all good  :P

Little update.

So i rang up Currys, and they said they are going to take the laptop away on Monday and hopefully give us the vouchers to buy a new one the following Wednesday.

So we still have to wait it out.  Anyone's birthday soon?  If i can get all done before PD's trip i'll be very happy (although the way things are going, he'll of been there, back and got his TR done before i'm even on day 4 :P )

Well the Trip Report may be incomplete and possibly doomed, but at least you have uploaded a variety of photo's to keep us entertained instead..

The photo quantities make up a little bit for the sad loss of scripts..     :P

Everyone should now turn to Lukes FaceBook, and put those tears away, get a cup of tea or coffee or something stronger, settle down and have a rake..    :D
