Title: The Enchanted Fireworks
Post by: Kristof on March 30, 2008, 10:24:14 PM
The Enchanted Fireworks
From 5th July to 31th August 2008

The new Enchanted Fireworks will replace the three year running Wishes sound and light spectacle.  It will be set on the tunes from Disney's Enchanted and projections will be used on Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Insiders have revealed that new kind of fireworks effects and colours are going to be used (but still excluding all "noisy" shells as in the past).

Estimated running time will be +/- 6 minutes.

Read details about the new fireworks show in an interview with the show's director on DLRP Today:

Sorry i assumed wishes was not on from previous news from the forum, but is it usual for DLRP to have the same fireworks show running for a few years in a row?

I would love to see the projection technology being used in a new show..

Since the introduction of more pyro, how has Wishes been recieved by the public out of interest?

Tinkerbell's Fantasy in the Sky ran for years. Really the only main fireworks shows they've had are Fantasia in the Sky, Tink, and Wishes. Of course many more shorter-run ones inbetween.

Quote from: "Malin"Since the introduction of more pyro, how has Wishes been recieved by the public out of interest?
The public have all more than enjoyed it when I've been there, even the first year in 2005. It is true though I think that it doesn't connect quite as well as other fireworks -- with the storyline, all that narration... A simple show with some great music might have more of an immediate effect on the audience.

I would also love to see the technology of Wishes used in another show. That's the one thing I've always loved. If they had a stronger soundtrack, almost zero narration it would be brilliant.

I read on DCP that they had originally planned a kind of "Mickey through the years" fireworks for the proposed 80th birthday year this year. Of course before that, there were rumblings of an actual 15th anniversary fireworks display for 2007 - then that got shelved because they already had so much going. Then of course another year was added... so the debate will be whether to bring back Wishes or invest in something new now...

Travel agents, etc have been told not to mention Wishes for this Summer though, so...
Title: Re: Fireworks This Summer
Post by: seanmartina on April 01, 2008, 06:09:42 PM
So the travel agents have been told not to mention fireworks..mmmmm!!so they cant decide to either keep it or ditch it. I really hope they listen Baloo.. give us projections PYRO MUSIC and Disney magic.. make us go away thinking WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am lucky this year, because no matter what show they put on, ill get to see the Bastille day fireworks... they look pretty impressive.

But i am secretly hoping i get to see a new firework show.. as ive seen wishes the past 3 years,  its a fantastic show..  and amazing finish to the day in the park, just for a change something new..

What would you hope it will be?

I would hope they create something totally new. With the technology and projections of wishes, with the spirit and effects of tink and with a wonderful and great music score  :D

I liked wishes and enjoyed it much. But I was fallen in love with this wonderful tink-fly. So a mix with technology and tradition would be great for me

Hope you see that firework you wish for  :D

Hopefully they will get rid of Wishes. I have never been fond of the static projections and lasers. However, I would like to see Disney in the Stars from Hong Kong Disneyland. It consists out of searchlights, lights on the castle, pyro's and flames. Combined with the nice soundtrack it will do the trick.

I loved Disney in the Stars. It was one of the highlights of my visit. The music and fireworks/pyros/projections are very well coordinated, and it's a well-composed show filled with Disney magic. It will however need to be a little different if it was to be shown at DLP, as the two castles are very different.

Now that the information hit Central Plaza, I can reveal it to you here: the fireworks this summer will be themed to ENCHANTED. They'll use the track "Enchanted Suite" from the soundtrack and I can't confirm yet they will use projections on the castle. Tests have been running on the castle on the previous days.

Fireworks and Fantillusion are from 5th July to 31st August, every night as far as I know.

on the 16th and 14th of april i noticed two different fireworks displays after park hours- could these be tests for a new show? or were they special displays for ford and continental tyres who were in the resort on those dates?

Aargh again an existing soundtrack.  DLRP needs to develop their own music that's adapted to the low-profile fireworks shells they're using.

I totally agree with you. Like wishes was an original track for WDW they should do something like that for DLRP to adapt to their restrictions. AS for wishes, I actually liked it, although I must admit that the could used their more fireworks. Lets see this one but an original track would have been the best solution

I've been listening to the Enchanted Suite over and over again the past few hours and while I love the soundtrack for the movie ánd the suite, I still don't see how they're going to perform a fireworks display on it.  It's soooo slow for our fireworks shells.  Unless it's being re-recorded by Vasile?  And also, the suite is just 4.35 minutes long, while according to Disney Central Plaza members the show will be around 7 minutes...

Enchanted music might be used for the fireworks??
This is the best news ever  :D/ , I think its an excellent choice.
My niece will be very excited for this. A high school musical show and
an Enchanted music being used in the park.
If Raptor's Hannah Montana rumour was true my niece would lose her mind  :P

They may do How Does She Know as an instrumental, that would be a fabulous score for fireworks.  The Baloos are likely to go in August to see them.

Post by: zanderstarz on May 09, 2008, 09:20:36 PM
I hate to be the barer of bad news but the chances of us seeing ANY fireworks this summer are very slim. With the ever decreasing budget, Wishes might NOT be returing and I can tell you for a fact that no new display has been planned for this year. New displays cost money which DLRP certainly does not have   :(    Fireworks arent even featured on the programme drafts - horray Fantillusion is, woop! The entertainment managers are shying away from the firework subject at the moment filling us all with even more doubt. It sucks to have no displays during the summer and from what I've heard I can see this summer season turning into one of the worst yet.

Glad to hear... i could never see the summer season without fireworks, that would be a shot in the foot for DLRP...  if they want to keep the numbers going up, and the money flowing in, you improve the standards not drop them
Title: Re: Fireworks This Summer
Post by: howtodeal on May 11, 2008, 11:37:17 PM
maybe that's why they chose the Enchanted Suit, which is not as long as
previous fireworks shows. This way they will entertain the visitors with a
shorter than usual show and at the same time they will save some money  :D
Title: Re: Fireworks This Summer
Post by: Kristof on May 12, 2008, 12:26:38 PM
Actually, the budget is not being cut for the fireworks.  It will be shorter, but don't forget Wishes had a lot of death moments without fireworks.
Title: Re: Fireworks This Summer
Post by: Japper on May 12, 2008, 03:29:30 PM

That's short!

I'm very glad to hear that there are in fact going to be fireworks this summer, when I read the rumour that there were none I nearly cried! I visited DLRP for the first time last September and while I still had a great time, it seemed to miss the fireworks at the end of the day!  8) I'm planning a trip back with my mum (who's never been before) in August and I can't wait!

I'm disappointed Wishes isn't going to be there, it was always so magical every time I saw it in WDW and Disneyland California. Still, if the Enchanted rumour is true I'll be more than happy!  :P

Hi there and welcome aboard. Just a couple of things to let you know. Wishes at DLP bore a very small simularity to that at the MK in WDW.  DLP are not allowed to use the large shells very often, so they are reserved for Bastille Day and New Year's Eve.

Second thing, Wishes has never run at DL.  DL has had Remember..., Believe..., Fantasy in the Sky.

No worries, I just thought I would point it out so you were aware.

DLP some of the smallest fireworks in the Disney universe, so be prepared for that. But what they miss in size, they try to make up in quality.
Title: Re: Fireworks This Summer
Post by: Snow_White_Girl on May 13, 2008, 02:12:07 PM
OK, I won't mind about them being smaller, I think when it comes to Disney quality is better than quantity anyway!  It's better when they do something small that's truly magical rather than putting on a big glitzy production that leaves you cold :D I do think that sometimes WDW try to do too much and end up spoiling things (hence why I've only done WDW twice and California 5 times hehe!) but DLRP hit the perfect balance I thought!

The entertainment department shocks us all again! Yep yep indeed raptor is correct. Heard it yesterday, there is going to be a NEW display, they were very vague on the title - 'Love' apparently, but I doubt it. Will include projections and be 6mins long. The show managers seem to think that this will be even more spectacular than Wishes, we shall see! (they are very up themselves!) What with the unexpected popularity of the Studios, EuroDisney SCA have gained quite a profit and are intending to invest this new found money in the Disneyland Park. Hence the 2 new shows, Fireworks and rumored 2 new attractions. More shows will be coming soon as well...how very exciting!

Very sorry for breifly throwing you all into dispair about the 'no fireworks' post I made earlier

I always wanted them to do a Little Mermaid attraction... I remember on the opening ceremony 15 years ago (which I had on tape and lost  :( , it was at my gran's and I think when we cleaned the house out after she died it got accidentally thrown away) that they said they were planning one! Obviously it was shelved, but I'd love it if they put an LM attraction in there!  [-o<

I hope it really is. Although I haven't seen the DLRP version of Wishes, I've heard that it was more laser show and projections and lacking a huge fireworks display. But I might be wrong.

The display had lots of fireworks, and inbetween there was projections and the lasers were more at the end, and at the beginning. The display was very beutiful and really well done, i know they are limited in the size of fireworks, but to me and my family it was very magical and ended the day in the parc perfectly

I think seanmartina was just describing Wishes to Remco!

You can watch it in video at either of these links by the way:
http://www.dlrpmagic.com/video/entertainment/wishes/ (http://www.dlrpmagic.com/video/entertainment/wishes/)
http://www.dailymotion.com/photosmagiqu ... hes_travel (http://www.dailymotion.com/photosmagiques/video/x4tsjf_wishes_travel)

I've got to agree with what raptor said earlier that the full Enchanted Suite really isn't suitable for a fireworks show. The beginning and end are brilliant, but the very long slow section in the middle won't work. I hope the rumours of the Enchanted theme are true, but they also mix in other parts of the soundtrack. The cheesier Ever Ever After would probably work well.

The Echanted Suite is maybe just the base for the fireworks-music.
To get a bit of inspiration and to see how a composition can be and a quick way to find out how they could make the bridges and smooth transitions.

Since I only know whats going on in the entertainment department I can only give you all info which is relative to me. The 2 new attractions are general info but only the park managers and attraction department know the full details. There are big plans for the next 5 years. Whilst the Studios continue to grow, no major attractions are planned after Stars and Cars as the managers concentrate on developing the Disneyland Park further.

Back on the topic of fireworks, I havent heard the music yet but Enchanted would be lovely! Pyro and visual tests will be done shortly as the equiptment begins to be installed into the park.

I personally am very dissapointed wishes may not be returning :(, but disney always manage to conjure up some kind of magic. It would be nice to hear an original score for paris from Vasille, always thought he is a fab arranger/composer for the park.

Have they confirmed whether or not th Enchanted suite will be used yet? I like it, but I don't think it's really 'firework' music.

for my self i think is better when wishes don´t come back this year, couse i think every disney park have to get his own firework.
I don´t know if the enchanted suite is the best choise they made, maybe is better they use music from only the movies that come on platimum edition dvd´s. i think it would be very fine and the most of the songs are good for a nicly firework at DLRP....  =D>

You can post your questions in the trip planning board here: viewforum.php?f=13 (https://forum.dlpguide.com/viewforum.php?f=13%22%20target=%22_blank)

But to answer your question, no there are no fireworks displays outside the summer season, unless there's a special event like St.-Patrick's Day.

:D I was wondering the same thing about the fireworks this year so i contacted dlrp through myspace and it turns out there with be new fireworks set to the theme music from "Enchanted" if anyone wants to listen to the music search "enchanted suite". I was hoping to see wishes as i've only been to disneyand once at christmas but it sounds as though i didn't really miss much from most comments some peple give. I would like to see characters involved with fireworks, like "tinkerbells Fantasy in the sky", seeing the disney princesses make an appearence in the new Enchanted fireworks would make it that bit more magical.

On DCP somebody is saying that the fireworks will be very low budget. Wishes was removed because it was too expensive. No video-projections will appear either.

Well.. I hope it's not true, a cut-down version of Wishes is just almost no fireworks display
Title: Re: Fireworks This Summer
Post by: seanmartina on June 03, 2008, 11:22:54 AM
I Think that would not be true, as in previous posts, it was outlined that there was no firework budget cuts, Raptor points out how long the display will last, and insider information has stated that the fireworks will be of a high quality(We Hope)

Post by: davewasbaloo on June 03, 2008, 02:15:07 PM
I would be very surprised if the budgets for fireworks were slashed any further as they are already very lean for other Disney park standards.

It's worth pointing out that Wishes was DLRP's most expensive daily fireworks.

A private event, perhaps?

I can understand those rumours about the budget being lower than Wishes. They're not advertising the fireworks at all, so I wouldn't expect anything more fancy than that show. That's not really a bad thing though. Remember Tink's Fantasy in the Sky? Just little bursts set to jolly music, but brilliant all the same because it all fit together so well. If they use Enchanted, I can imagine it being comparable. :)

These special events happen very often.  It's just a company that rents off the park for the evening. Depending on the number of guests they'll have, fireworks is included.

Now back on topic to The Enchanted Fireworks!  :)

So it is definitley now Enchanted Fireworks? If so, awesome :)!

I was listening to the Soundtrack the other day. I personally love the music by Alan Meknen and I'll be honest, posting before I hadn't listened to the whole soundtrack. After listening to it all, I think it will work really well for a disney fireworks show, and it will certainly fit the constraints at DLRP.

I'm really looking forward to seein this now,

The Enchanted Fireworks has been confirmed.  Maybe not to the public, but it has internally.  Period.  No more discussion if it will be enchanted or not.  It is.

Well Wishes and The Echanted Fireworks will both be quite different.  Wishes relied on the storytelling (and narrating) aspect, while TEF will be a classic DLRP fireworks display like we've seen in the past (Tink's, etc.)

Mmmm.. I kinda liked the storytelling.. it gives a fireworksdisplay so much more than just fireworks! (with the projections, lasers ect.) Just like in the american parks (Remember.. and Wishes)

But we will waith and see.. maybe it's great!

Yeh, must admit Wishes had a great element of story telling to it and it really made it a 'show' instead of just another fireworks display. DLRP are going to have to work hard to top the American parks now :(

Les Feux Enchantés... will the French audience get that, then? The film was called Il était une Fois in France if I remember correctly... Oh well, they will once the music starts.

So, will it be Wishes or Enchanted this year, do we know yet?

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted here. ;)

I'm so excited about the new fireworks! Personally, I enjoyed the classic firework displays from the past more than Wishes. Also, the Enchanted theme really gets me enthused...

BUT I might not be able to go the DLRP this year (too expensive, too many days off work...). So, am I right to presume that this new display will last for another couple of years?  :? If so, I might just have to wait till next year...

Fireworks and Fantillusion are from 5th July to 31st August, every night as far as I know.

i've read its from the 5th, which im quite excited about because i go on the third and my first day in the part is the 4th so im hoping maybe to see both shows!.

although...
the park is only open till 9.00pm on the 4th (so the disneyland resort paris callender says) so im abit concerned that they wont do the fireworks with it being nearly 2 hours earlier than normal.
does any one know if they will still be shown?
or if it will just be the Fantillusion?
or if anything will be shown?

Details are now known about the fireworks display!  Christophe Leclercq, show director of the fireworks display, reveals lots of information in an interview posted on DLRP Today.

In short:

- The Enchanted Suite is slightly altered to fit the fireworks.
- Projections will not feature Disney characters, but patterns.
- 6 Big rear spotlights will be placed behind Sleeping Beauty Castle (similar to the Halloween Soiree '07 fireworks)
- A few new fireworks bombs (still no loud bangs).
- Candleabration will be performed by Mickey and Minnie on the Castle balcony right before the fireworks.

Read the full interview here:

I'm really excited by all these changes. I personally hope that the show begins with True Love's Kiss and then into the suite. The only thing I seem to be worried about is the quality of the mixing between tracks, however this can always be overcome by the sudden burst of loud fireworks of course.

The lights are ideal... just like HKDL etc. In the interview, he suggests that these are not "searchlights". I hope he just means they are not as strong as searchlights, not that they don't move :( This can really fill in the gaps between fewer fireworks for example.

And so we do get projections after all! I wasn't expecting that to be honest and the ideas do sound good (some possible copies of the same effects in Wishes perhaps). Since they're working with the TOT projectionist, I'm hoping for more movement this time round.

As for the firework arrangements, I've never really known the process before. Have the manufacturers of the fireworks always designed the show or is this a new step? The fanning effect from one side to the other does sound very Wishes from MK however... hardly a new technique. This "cauliflower" effect is puzzling.

It's a really nice idea to change Candleabration to let the show flow on, but does this mean the Just Like We Dreamed It dance will be scrapped so they go straight to the fireworks?

Are M&M on the balcony over the summer to facilitate the new Central Plaza stage expansion?

They are the same as during the Halloween Fireworks display last year.  (Fast forward to 5'.10", it's gives a great idea how they will look like).

Yes, we already talked about the projections many pages ago!

The show director designs the fireworks, the fireworks company adapts it.

He's obviously talking about a new effect for DLRP.

Yeah, I think so!

I hope they're removing the stage to clear some space for people to watch the show... I don't think they're going to build the new stage already!

Yeah, I explained it in another topic, but can't remember where.  There's a court ruling since 1993 in which the fireworks noise is limited to a few days a year for which the mayor have to give his permission (hence why loud bangs are only during special events).

Yes raptor I remember that. That's why we don't get so big fireworks all the year. But the noise in this fireworks, being louder as everyone is saying, won't cause that problem?

Well according to the people on DCP, it's a bit edgy.  So if people will complain, the fireworks noise will be reduced.

Here's a link (//http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=3QKmlKkeIRk) to a video on YouTube. I shot it last night and it just shows the fireworks, not the complete show around it (that includes a very short version of Candleabration and a short end that's missing here) - watch it, if you like :)

I was very happy about what I saw and even though it's kinda short the wonderful cooperation between music, fireworks and illuminations makes it a real great show. As this video is YouTube compressed it does not really show how beautiful it really was - but it gives you a good impression.

I am sure some more detailed informaton will be available soon - I am just tired now and send you all the best wishes from Paris :D

Cheers,

I love what I'm seeing. They're just simple, GOOD fireworks. Exactly what we needed. =D>

The fireworks at 3:10 are brilliant sky-fillers, and those at 4:10 are really surprising - so slow and elegant, quite romantic. You don't often see fireworks like that. At 4:26, it's just s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r, those are GREAT!! There's a lot of great choreography tricks there, it looks like this new fireworks company is a really good match.  They've managed to fill the sky without using big shells and I've never seen a DLRP fireworks show with so many different types of fireworks. No more "you've seen one DLRP fireworks you've seen them all", please!

When it ended, I thought "is that it?", but then... whoaaa!!!   Just the video gave me goosebumps there.

Thank you so much!
It's a great Firework! The music is nice and good arranged I think. But i cant see any (or just a few) projections on the castle.... and do they use this searchlights wich aren't searchlights only one time with blue light? And I can't get a story out of it....

For me it's not better than wishes, but a very good replacement.

I am Excited to see it in just four days! I will make some Pics and Vids.

Bye
Arno

EDIT:
okay, after seeing the photos from disneytheque I must say that they use the searchlight and projections more often than you can see in the video. Thanks for that link!

Bye

Yep - the projections don't come out pretty well due to the compression in size. But I can tell you that they are actually visible in the original video that I just watched the 4th time or so ... can't get enough of it

Being there just a few hours ago, I have to say i'm really dissapointed. It felt like these fireworks are nothing more then what I could find at a local event, slow, unspectacular and absolutely no story to hold it together.

Candles get turned on in an utterly short candlebration, some music begins to play, and 30 seconds later some cheap fireworks get shot into the air, totally not syncronised with the music or anything. I guess the best part about it we're the searchlights giving the tinkerbell on top this rustic-goldish color, but other then that, even projections, which there were only a few off until half way trough, we're nothing special.

Sorry if I sounds so very negative about it, but I just thought Wishes deserved a better replacement then this. But hey, i'm happy not everyone share my opinion  :) .

First of all, I would like to congratulate the team on this totally new show. Many new effects and technologies are obviously in place here and the overall show is fantastic. That said, I do feel there are a few miss opportunities.

Although the show provides lots of new fireworks and designs, some do "go on" for a little too long, when I found myself expecting the effect to evolve... not just continue. An example of this is the series of very small fireworks during Happy Working Song. When the music repeats itself, so does the fireworks and this to me could have easily been changed a new effect of the same cost to keep some variation.

Again, with the first finale, the music builds and builds to a peak, yet the fireworks continue as they had done for the past few cues. Other more obvious queues are also missed in the show when you'd expect a mine burst from the ground or something with a graceful whooshing effect like the Wishing star.

The So Close sequence was truly beautiful – stunning. Goes to show that with the right music, you don't need manic fireworks... but also proof that when the music if more upbeat, you do expect a greater impact by contrast

The timing of all effects has to be superior to any other nightly show we've had so that aspect makes me particularly proud now. I can't wait to see the lighting effects and projections on another version of the video now ? I'm sure that like Wishes and Tinks, changes will be made to fill those gaps I've talked about.

I can't waith to see the searchlights and projections in work!

Just returned from Paris and am also looking for all the other videos to show up that show possible differences and changes in the show. It seems as if they were still kinda testing it the first evening since the synchronity between the shells on the right and the left were not really perfect - but maybe it was intended to be like that? Let's wait and see ...

This one isn't by Flounder. It's actually quite nice to have a fireworks show that you don't need to be so close to to get the full effect (Wishes lost it as you got further back from the projections, here they're not so vital at all).

Exactly! The moment those slow, dancing lights build into the HUGE fans of fireworks when the music soars is incredible, and the timing of the three different bursts to the music is perfect. They sure proved us wrong.

Well, if you believe it or not - but my video was taped from even closer than the second one. I was directly in front of the stage but used a wide angel lense - that's the whole trick behind it ;) But it's true - you have a wonderful view even if you are pretty close to the castle.

Did you notice they've tightened up the gap between the opening Andalasia segment and the Enchanted Suite since the premiere? There are now two small blasts as the spotlights vanish downward, like a "boom" of a magic spell, rather than the first fireworks just fading.

The enchanted fireworks were just beautiful, i like wishes better because that was just fabulous but enchanted fireworks are only on for 5 minutes, whilst wishes was on for 10 minutes (approx) and the holograms on the castle were better on wishes. Wishes was 9:31 minutes and The Enchanted Fireworks is 6:30 minutes.

That said, the concept of both is different.  Wishes was a sound & light spectacle telling a story relaying more on the projections and the music, while Enchanted Fireworks is a... fireworks display!  :D

hmmm..  ok I have to admit that fireworks are not fully my thing unless they are truly immersive and breathtaking.. For this I am thinking the Halloween fireworks at MK Orlando where the whole park is involved and fireworks utterly surround you or the California versions last year with the Julia Andrews narration, which involved areas of the park being focused  and once again great  total surround fireworks and lasers.

Now I dont want to sound critical, and to give you some idea I find the current epcot show utter "sleep central"  but I was expecting quite something last weekend..

This may have something to do with the fact that we normally visit the parks over the christmas holidays to new year and in march/april and see no fireworks at all, but this year we visited and had a superb trip last weekend.

However... The fireworks...

I like to take photos or watch fireworks from a mid postion on main street.. It just seems right to me and fits in with the atmosphere..

Is there a strange law in France that has low level fireworks only; most barely reached higher than the buildings at the top corners of main street and those that did resembled nothing more than giant (maybe not so giant)  roman candles..

All in all a bit of a dissapointment.. (though I stress the only dissapointment in a fantastic four days)
Title: Re: The Enchanted Fireworks

ightenhill, DLRP cannot use big fireworks because of a lawsuit from the surrounding villages.  The Enchanted Fireworks is very loud for DLRP standards actually!  :)

The lawsuit only limits the fireworks behind Fantasyland.  That's why they can use big fireworks for the Bonfire show on Lake Disney.

I actually made a whole post about this subject.  Will look this up for you, it's hidden somewhere....  :)

Oh blimey, maybe Disney should take their 10,000+ jobs away too. Marne-la-Vallée would be a wasteland without them. The fireworks were loud for a daily DLRP show, but nothing compared to what you see in Anaheim. How do the locals there cope? I guess we'll have to wait till a video pops up showing what has changed...

Has DLRP ever tried to renegotiate with them, maybe putting the fireworks on a little earlier or something?

these are bad news, the firework is really great...

I don´t understand the people in the village, thats so typicall french, all time to beef...
Like anthony said befor, why don´t beef the peeps in anaheim, with a more noisy and longer firework?? The firework is just 7 minutes and from this we have maybe 1 or 2 minutes noisy shells...

It would be the same when i say at home to the animals they have to shut up
I think they have to close the windows, put something in their ears, and everyone is happy, disney kan make bigger shels and the people dont hear anything

Compared to (5:30mins in):
[youtube:12hdpl05]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azZ8K6SF8BQ[/youtube:12hdpl05]
If you'd seen the original, you'd notice the difference. Otherwise, it's a slightly less spectacular finale but doesn't really seem to detract from the overall show at all. There's no Wishes-style gaps. Those big bangs up in the sky were amazing to see in a daily show, but they've added in a lot of extra upwards fireworks fanning out from the ground to compensate.

Surely this isn't that much quieter than the original? A good patch-up job from the pyrotechnics team anyway. :)

For this - a big:
 =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>

Nevertheless - its a pity that one of the greates fireworks they ever had, has to slow down. In fact, France is not America. The Americans are proud to have Disneyland.
The french people want to have some peace and quiet.
Sad, there is still no agreement between Disney and the people of chessy.
I hope, that sometimes - this will chance!

Don't think the people in Anaheim appreciate the fireworks that much...  I've seen a few articles about neighbours living around the Anaheim resort.  Disney pays there quite a lot of money for the upkeep of the residential area, so the politicians kinda close their eyes for it.

Ohhh - didn´t know!
The husband of one of my friends lived in America for two years. And he said, Disneyland plays a big role in their culture. And much of them are proud if you begin to talk about Disneyland.

Maybe it just depends on the people and not on the nationality.
Nevertheless - its sad, that "our" Disneyland has these problems.

Folks, seriously: would you like to endure nightly fireworks? At 23:00 each night??? I know at what time I have to get out of bed - and I certainly can understand DLP's neighbours.
Sure, Disney has brought the jobs and the money... But having to deal with the noise (e.g., at times you can hear the Disneyland Railroad's whistle in Val d'Europe...) can be stressful.

Especially for little children - and those who have seen how cats and dogs panic on New Year's Eve might also understand why their owners would prefer the noiseless (even if less spectacular) fireworks shells.

Absolutely. We have fireworks going off quite often in our city, and they are extremely distressing to pets - our dog is terrified of them. It also can't be very pleasant for our neighbours, having to listen to our dog barking at the noise either.
I'm all for quieter fireworks - they can still be beautiful.

Good news!

From disneycentralplaza:
90000 were supposed to be delivered to DLRP but due to the olmpics in China and Fireworks Factory had to close they didnt get their delivery on time and the Huge big boxes full of fireworks exploded so less fireworks in their warehouse till the end of summer

Someone that works in the Fireworks show dept had to answered because some people on the french DLRP board wanted to write a letter to the local Mayor to complain about them to stop the noises complains .

So next summer we have a fully enchanted fireworks show again :)

I actually thought they tried to save on budget, but this reason is much better.  I didn't really buy the rumour that it was because of the neighbours.  It's not THAT loud.

That's just HILARIOUS!!!

So now that Enchanted has finished its run for the Summer of 2008, what is the general impression of the show. Do people perfer it to Wishes and would you like to see it return next year?

I think it's not that good :(

When we went on our last night, we eventually watched the fireworks. But what I really missed were the broomsticks, the witchy and bad, red firework part, and the voices of various disney characters. I did enjoy the movie but I don't think I'm going to like these magical flame festival.

Anyways, with a Dream passport I could skip the fireworks  :D/

I see you guys enjoy it!  :)

I tought it was wonderful!
And romantic <33  hehe

With the ending, I told my boyfriend: could have been a more bigger bang at the end.

Later that day I read somewhere, they had to change it.

I guess I'm one of the few, who'd go outside each night, and watch the fireworks, no matter what time I'd have to get up in the morning, hehe.
(probably 'cause I don't need much sleep anyways)

Last night a test was performed at Disneyland Park after park closure.  Nearly all loud shells are removed from the display. Moderator Flor captured this video with his photo camera:

It certainly looks like the Enchanted Fireworks; I don't suppose it was a rehearsal for the MMP launch/press event was it?

Is it just me or did I hear the soundtrack of the Rocketeer in the end? I suppose its the area loop of Frontlot which wasn't turned off?

If it was a Fireworks test they probably wouldn't need to include the searchlights.

I hope they haven't been cut.

There's little need to test them, but why test with music in that case? That won't go wrong in the show :P

I doubt they've been cut, but did cross my mind how amazing they will look with our new Central Plaza performance area. Great effect!

It really looked great on the 31th of October last year during the evening shows!
I was hoping that they've added some extra lights in the new stage as well
