Title: DLP Castle
Post by: Filip on August 12, 2007, 01:26:28 PM
I dont know if somebody was talking about this before, but why Disney company never more used the design of our castle in any other Disney Parcs? I am really happy that we have unique and the only castle, but if everybody say its the best and the most beautiful, why they never used it again? I know why they used this design in Europe,(specially created), before they didnt have a reason for designing a new castle, extra fairytale. But if its now here why they never used it again?

There's only been one park so far after DLRP, which is Hong Kong Disneyland, a modern interpretation of the original Disneyland Park in California.

Moving to Imagineering.

Like Raptor said, only Hong Kong Disneyland opened after Disneyland Paris. I'm not sure, but it seems to me that it was way cheaper to copy the Anaheim castle because of its size and surrounding landscapes (Snowwhites Grotto is less expensive then Taniere du Dragon for example). So I think it has more to do with cost cutting then anything else, but thats only my guess.

Besides, I read somewhere that Disney has some difficulties with our Le Chateau because of its upkeep. Remember that our castle has the most unusual exterior shape for a Disney castle ever created. Think about the wet and cold weather in Western Europe aswell and voila... the upkeep is quite expensive. At least, thats what I have read. On the other hand, the weather conditions in Hong Kong are quite different.
