I don't think this area is born for a new Hotel, because the rooms with views to Disney Village would be too loud in the night. Anyway: A new hotel would be great.

Maybe the Hollywood Hotel from Hong Kong Disneyland. As we have a movie themed park in the resort.

The question is: what theme would you like to see. It's not a discussion whether it should be build there. But to respond to your remark: a Disney Hotel was according to the original masterplan supposed to go there as part of the hotel expansion program. A business hotel was also planned for the area behind what's now the Vinci Parkinglot.

I would like to see, A kind of Boardwalk Inn hotel just like the one in WDW or something romantic like de port orleans french Quarter or port orleans riverside. I prefer Defently the Port Orleans French Quater it would beautiful blend inn. Because Orleans was always a city where the party kept going!

I´d love to see WDWs Polynesian resort including Monorail, with a monorail expansion to all disney hotels. :shock:
As this is highly unlikely, my second wish is Port Orleans or Dixie Landings (no for me it´s not Port Orleans Riverside) as a DVC.
I´d spend real big money for that one to get at least 400 points a year.
I would love to see a hotel based on the disney characters or the town in POTC (Tortuga)
Come to think of it, it could be quite cool to theme it on DLRP itself, you could have one section made to look like a smaller version of the castle,then another on BTM, PM, SM, etc :wink:
Every hotel has an american connection so I think Hawaian or Caribbean theme will be perfect, with a little bit of Lilo & Stitch for the first and a little bit of pirates for the second. New Orleans is good too but something new would be better, not just a copy of the WDW hotel.
I hope they continue with the American theme when/if they build another in this area near Lake Disney, just to complete the area. The area beyond Sequoia Lodge (near Lava Lagoon site) could be for more distant themes?
Thinking of possible US themes, my adventurous mind can come up with:
- Hollywood
- New Orleans - French Quarter
- Florida (kinda done with DLH?)
- Contemporary (lol, imagine that!)
- Paradise Pier
- Boardwalk (kinda done with NBC?)
- American Waterfront
- Chicago (?)
- Route 66 (or is that Sanfa Fe?)

A more industrial "American Waterfront"-style hotel might be quite cool, especially spanning between Newport Bay Club and New York.
New Orleans would be a strong theme and very popular I think, also good if they used the theme for a new section of Disney Village at the same time, since you often associate the theme with entertainment and dining. And isn't the Princess and Frog film based there too? Nice tie-in..

The resort at WDW is great, as you say Baloo, similar to NPB, but also offers entertainment, so would be a fantastic natural progression of the village. :lol:

I would love a New Orleans themed hotel with a Jazz Club and nice creole retsaurants. It used to be called the Paris of the West, so it would have a great France meets USA feel like the rest of the park. Also being on the water could feel like the mighty Mississippi and complement the Village.
And please, no mor characters. Disney resorts have always been about creating other places and locations, letting you be a part of the story. If you want Characters, go to Cafe Mickey.
The New Orleans settings sounds indeed fitting too the whole resort and would fit in perfectly!
A New Orleans Style Hotel would pe perfect for DLRP.
A Hotel like the All Star Resorts in WDW is a typical US Hotel, it´s not the perfect Hotel for Paris - I think...... :?

The ideas and pics of a New Orleans Style hotel really impressed me, that would really be a nice idea :)
My idea first was something "tropical", also a sea-styled hotel but different from Newport Bayclub... maybe something typical Hawaiin (Lilo & Stitch? :P) or also Florida as theme!

I think this would be a great idea indeed. On the other hand, I also would like to see a Key West theme, like they did in Orlando if I remember correctly. That would also compliment the history of Disney Village quite well.

Once again, I totally agree. Disney Resorts are about theming, creating an immersive experience like in the parks, a sense of place. Thats why I am not too fond of the Disney's All-Star Resorts in Orlando.
Pop Century / All Star people: you should consider that this hotel would be located quite close to the parks, so the price class will probably be on the same level as Hotel New York.
For me, the theme should be American-related like the rest of the hotels. An Animal Kingdom Lodge or All Star Movies would look out of place, in my opinion.
Keywest or Port Orleans are great ideas.

Southern Mansion (Gone with the Wind, DL's Haunted Mansion)

Modern Contemporary - ala Ghery (but with the Village, no thanks)
San Francisco themed could work too

At first, I thought about a hotel with architecture like discoveryland but after that, maybe there could be multiple buildings like sequoia lodge. Maybe Main Street USA with the lobby, restaurants and more expensive rooms, Fantasyland, Frontierland & Discoveryland with normal rooms and the adventureland building could be the pool. That would be cool :mrgreen:

There are some similarities, but An A&C style has a 20's feel to it. But you are right, they are very similar (I also very much like the SL).

I prefer a New Orleans-styled hotel that reflects the Jazz Age of the '20s.
It would be a perfect match with the upcoming animated feature The Princess and the Frog (2009).

A california/hollywood hotel would be great! Like a hotel for the WDS as the Disneyland Hotel is for disneyland parc !
hey folks, so i think a Hollywood hotel in a bordwalk style on the disney village site would be great...
Now i got an another idea what is when they built one time a third park like the old westcot plan, they can built a franch themed hotel called the grand parisian hotel cause WDW got the grand floridian and DLR the grand californian hotel!!
I would go for a Princess themed castle hotel, complete with flags, gold leaf paint, battlements and turrets. I know the Disneyland hotel caters for general Disney characters, but a real royal palace would be a brilliant addition in my opinion.
If there are a lot of daughters like mine that are really into the Disney Princesses, then I'm sure they would like to spend some of their time in a building that looks and feels like a royal palace. Rooms and suites could be based on the princesses themselves. Each castle wing would have different royalty areas. For example (A Royal Suite, Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella themed areas and rooms, and so on..... :D/ It would also feature a royal dining area, swimming pool with a dragon water slide for an added touch. Each morning you would have the usual photo shoots in the foyer, again different Princesses each morning. I'm sure it would go down well, even if you are not really a princess fan, I think you would still really appreciate the splendor and atmosphere around you, whether you were young or old. :wink:

I am sure they will stay with the American theme for a new hotel , it would make sense as all the hotels are so close to each other ,unlike in WDW.I think a Hollywood hotel would be great as it is so close to Studios,and would tie in really well with the area !
But a POTC hotel could be amazing but not in the site by the NBC !
How about something in the style of one of the Port Orleans resorts?
I think that's a style which also would be matching the current resort hotels and
could be very much valued by the european crowd.

What I've been saying in my other posts, Do an All Stars Hotel there or do a Disney Vacation Club at DLRP then build a Bay Lake Tower with a Paris twist.
Obviously, the next Disney hotel should be built on the patch of land between the Newport Bay Club and Disney Village, that currently features a white tent and a car park.
The theme should be fairly urban, to tie-in with Disney Village, which is supposed to be the bustling, exciting, entertainment district of the Resort.
A Hollywood theme would be cool, like Disney's Hollywood Hotel at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Alternatively, how about a San Francisco themed hotel, with elements of Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 integrated?
I would also use the Hollywood theme, because it matches the American themes of the other hotels.
They should use the ground floor, that faces DV, as an expansion for DV, like they did in Anaheim with Downton Disney.

The Disney Rock 'N' Roll Hotel, it would feature a very modern and stylish finish. Not like at WDW but a very ultra modern, probably expensive Hotel option, to live the 'rockstar' life.
Either a Rock 'n' Roll hotel, that would be ultra modern and stylish to suit the needs of a 'rockstar' OR I would choose something like an American style Diner like annets diner but with a Nascar/indycar/f1 style hotel, where the beds are different famous racecars and different merobilia!
Maybe not for this lot, but I have had this idea for a long time. A Phantom Manor themed hotel.
But I would stay in a POC themed hotel or Hollywood Tower Hotel.
A lot of people seem to like New Orleans and Pirates of the Caribbean. This got me thinking – those two go together, right? After all, PoC at Disneyland is located on New Orleans Square. Much of old New Orleans was built in the early 1800s, when piracy on the Caribbean was slowly dying out.
So here it is, my first ever attempt at fan imagineering!
Disney's Pirate Port Hotel

The hotel is a pirate-themed stylized representation of the Gulf of Mexico during the late 1700s and early 1800s. It's located at the "empty" spot by Lake Disney, which currently houses an event tent.
1. The main building houses the hotel's main entrance, lobby and suites. It represents Texas and northern Mexico, and it is styled after Mission architecture.
2. The two wings house hotel rooms. They represent Louisiana and New Orleans, and they are styled after the city's French Quarter.
3. The conference center represents the easternmost point of Mexico. It is styled after the fortresses of the Spanish Main.
4. New Orleans Street runs between the two wings. It's a Disney version of life in New Orleans, where every day is Mardi Gras. The street follows the line past The Earl Of Sandwich as an extension of Disney Village. Lining the street are a restaurant serving cajun food and a voodoo-themed bar.
5. At the end of New Orleans Street is a harbor featuring a pirate ship. It functions as a "weenie", drawing people from Disney Village onto the street. (I can't think of anything very interesting to actually do with the ship. Ideas, anyone?)
6. An water play area exclusively for hotel guests represents Florida. A Mickey Mouse shaped pool marks the location of Orlando.
7. The bridge is now longer. Decorative islands represent the Florida Keys and Cuba.
8. Conference center and Hotel parking.

Wow. It's really thought out. :D Some of it takes up room next to McDonalds planned for Village expansion, but never mind. I love the story and all the little details. And using the boat as a weenie was a really good idea.

I think a water theme hotel could combine a lot of characters and films into its design.
You could have large in wall tanks throughout and lots of blue lighting that ripples in some areas to give it an under sea look inside.
It could be quite castle like from the outside taking ideas from images of Atlantis and Atlantica. I would veer away from it looking like a sandcastle or having big shells stuck to it although some smaller ones places sporadically could look good.
It would need a really good well themed pool and splash play areas an indoor beach would be perfect.
An area of water surrounding it so you cross a bridge to enter with some Blagio style light up fountains that could draw peoples attention as they walk past. When you get closer the water has ornamental fish, remnants of a sunken ship added subtly somewhere is a must to incorporate captain hook and captain jack, a classic Ariel statue in the style of the one in Copenhagen could look beautiful, and maybe some beady tick-tock croc eyes poking out of the water.
A two level soft play area and children's area would work well Jake and the neverland pirates on top above the water Nemo below under the sea.
The bar area should take elements from the pirates an upmarket version of captain jacks drinking holes.
A good sea food restaurant would be a nice addition.
The reception welcome area should have lots of elements from the little mermaid and the main movie focus should be the little mermaid and peter pan.
There are loads of themes of room that would fit and could be worked it.
I think it could be a different and exciting addition
i agree with some of the others i like the idea of the Hollywood hotel like what Hong Kong have, its a lovley hotel
