Title: Ideas For the Critter Corral Area
Post by: Owain on July 25, 2007, 08:10:36 PM
Here i thought you could put ideas for what could be the future of the critter coral.

An update to the farm or a complete diffrent concept for the area ?

So lets here your ideas !  :D

And like raptor said in the other topic:

Quoteraptor1982: And please please please, this won't be for Splash Mountain, so let's not spam the topic with "they should build splash mountain there".

O.K, so no Splash mountain  :P  Sorry!

Actually I like Nicholas's idea for a little person ride. Something with horse n carriage type vehicles. Shame Home on the Range wasnt such a great film....

I was thinking of something like adventure isle from adventureland but ovbious theme it to frontierland like walking through gold mines and discovering the story and secrets of big thunder mountain and thunder mesa.

I like, maybe even pay a little to pan for gold.....

For little people-I know we've already got Buzz. But what about a Woody's round up?

What about a "three caballeros" theme. It´s a little more mexikan, than "wild west", but a little kiddie ride featuring Donald and friends wouldn´t be too bad.

But whatever they put in this spot is better than an empty critter coral.

Maybe it will be a Splash Mountain?

:P Just kidding!

It will be interesting to see what is done there though. I don't think it will be anything major - Maybe jut some walk-through sort of thing

Hehe well Tubbsy, I know for sure it's not for Splash Mountain, I don't want people to get their hopes up high for something that's probably far from spectacular as an E-Ticket.
Title:
Post by: tubbsy on August 08, 2007, 07:35:35 AM
Its not that big an area is it? So they're not going to be able to fit an e ticket ride in? Anythings got to be better than the empty animal penns. With big machines in there its probably not a refurb... M'be smurfy's sleuthing will come up with something :D

Me thinks Raptor knows a little more than he's willing to tell....  :D

Maybe they're just making the space empty, so they can build a new attraction in Adventureland: Indiana Jones Adventure! Since this was (and still is?) planned to come between Colonel Hathi's and the rollercoaster (and NOT between the rollercoaster and Pirates, because there's not enough space). Personally, I prefer Indy over Splash Mountain.

Question for raptor: in stead of telling us what it's not going to be, why not tell us what it's going to be?

That would be great.
Many people told me that there won't be another Indiana Jones attraction and I thought they were right, but now there's the roller coaster and the Dark Ride in Tokyo Disney Resort. So it's not dead !

Raging Spirits is not linked to the Indiana Jones merchandise.

But it's in the same "temple".
"Raging spirits" is just an adding sentence like "Temple of the Crystall Skull", but both have to do with Indiana Jones.

No, the space reserved for an Indy Adventure is definitely between the temple of peril and Pirates. The (very limited) space between the temple and critter corral is backstage for Colonal Hathi's and Cowboy Cookout.

Agreed that Indy should be next after ToT though.

I don't get all this about an Indiana Jones Adventure. Why would they build another Indy ride right next to the current one? Or have I missed something...

Because the Indy ride in California is really great! One of my favorites ever!

According to the satellite images on Google.maps, there's more space between Colonel Hathi's and the rollercoaster.
And if I remember correctly, raptor1982 wrote in another topic that Indiana Jones Adventure was planned "behind the large bamboo backstage door".

By the way, if they locate it on that location, they can put a temple-tower between the rollercoaster and the Railroad-track, so the awful backstage-view from the top of the rollercoaster disappears!

No, it hasn't. Raging Spirits has the same track lay-out as our Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, although it's a mirrored version. Thats it. There is no link to Indiana Jones, even the temple structure in Tokyo is different to ours. :)

But what I mean: There's just no sign at the entrance that says "Indiana Jones", but it's the same coaster and it's located in the same "temple building" so it would be possible for Paris too !

they could extend it further and have our version of animal kingdom have safari tours etc.

then could add something to do with dinosaurs, marine animals.

then with the marine animals add splash mountain and/ or other water rides to with disney land

could have water as a theme so could include little mermaid etc

anthing else?

If they do have animals they will probably open a new park, not have a section in the park.

Title:

Why is a Splash Mountain so unrealistic?
Euro Disney does one large investment every 5 years (even when they're in financial trouble):
1992-1997: Space Mountain
1998-2002: WDS
2003-2007: Tower of Terror
2008-2012: Splash Mountain ??
So a Splash Mountain in 2012 is NOT completely unrealistic!

If we did get a Grizzly River Run, i would prefer it to go in a new park. Like a new adventurous theme park for DLRP's 3rd theme park.

If they ever build a Raft Ride at Disneyland Resort Paris, it would be completely indoor and with good effects and theming like Pirates, Phantom Manor and so on. And there would be given big raincoats that have to be given gack at the exit ( just like the 3D glasses ).

I dont see why. Paultons Park in the U.K. The log flume. I've been on it at different times of the year. In winter we hardly get splashed at all. A warm day, my shoulders had a few splashes. Last week 25'-lovely hot summer day. I was dripping as I walked off! The plume of water was enormous! If its possible for a little park to do it, then Disney can

why so against splash mountain :(
I think if they did build it in our frontierland, it would have to be better themed. Brer Rabbit doesnt really fit into thunder mesa I think.
isnt there supposed to be another phase from like 2009 to 2012 where theres something new every year? Im guessing some ride will be built in that timeframe
Title:

i think an indoor or outdoor splash mountain type ride would be great for the park.
Title:
Post by: Cinder on September 01, 2007, 09:57:59 AM
It is a fact that Disneyland Park absolutely needs a water ride, it is just the only thing missing in the park.  Most flume rides are perfectly controlled on how wet you get, so that shouldn't be the problem.   Making it indoor makes it less spectacular to look at but can also be very surprising.  To all who have been to Belgium's Bobbejaanland, look at the Indiana River!

But why does it have to be Splash Mountain?  After ToT (which I totally apreciate that they are building it here) why not a totally new unique DLRP attraction?  I shouldn't need to say that Disney has *loads* of characters/movies/etc... to convert into rides.  And even it turns out to be SM, it is perfectly possible that they would not use any of the Song of the South Characters, but more recent Characters like Brother Bear, Tarzan or The Lion King.

For another water ride idea there was a scene in New Groove where Kuzco and Kronk were going down the waterfall, that could work.

Personally i think the work has to go into the studios, make that a bigger park where i can spend a full day.

I think with the opening of ToT, you can easily spend a full day at the studios.
We just got 3 new attractions! Thats awesome!
The park now offers something for the whole family. And if it is your first time with you family there and you want to see everything... spending one day should be no problem  :D

Quote from: "Cinder"And even it turns out to be SM, it is perfectly possible that they would not use any of the Song of the South Characters, but more recent Characters like Brother Bear, Tarzan or The Lion King.

Although I would like to see a Splash Mountain in Paris, I can't help but feel that a Song of the South storyline doesn't fit in our Frontierland. Ofcourse there are ways to find a solution for that by creating a Critter Country concept. In the meantime, I would love to see a more mature/unique approach of Splash Mountain, fitting in with the Thunder Mesa storyline.

To be honest, I think that if we get a Splash Mountain, it will never be themed to another franchise except for Song of the South. Its like building a Its A Small World ride except for the all important soundtrack or an Indiana Jones Adventure attraction minus the presence of Indiana Jones himself.

Once again, I would love to see a unique version of Splash Mountain for Paris, but I am convinced that if we get one, it will be build with the whole Song of the South package. Its all or nothing I guess. Splash Mountain wouldn't be the same without Brer Rabbit I am afraid. By the way, keep in mind that EuroDisney will probably copy Splash Mountain since its cheaper then retheming it from scretch.
