Title: Price increases over the years..
Post by: Do88y on July 13, 2019, 10:23:36 PM
I have just looked back at all our trips starting in 2012 and the prices have gone up significantly since what we paid in 2012.. any one else noticed? We always stay in a Disney hotel either Santa Fe or Cheyenne, the only good thing is we usually get a free meal plan now.
For 6 nights In February 2012 for 3x adults & 1x child under 7 was £672 in Santa Fe with breakfast & both park tickets the exact same holiday in 2020 is £2133....

With one hotel closed for refurbishment, general price increases (top AP was €249 in 2015, now €449) and the American stock buy-out and announced new investment, I guess it's somehow to be expected all prices are (and will keep) going up.

At least we're actually seeing something for the price increase with the enormous investment in the Studios and the money spent on the major refurbishments. It is getting more expensive but I am seeing where the money is going so...

Also the APs were massively underpriced before really (to the point where it could be cheaper to use them for a single yearly trip than buy normal park tickets which was insane) so that was very much expected.

I am noticing this too. Always stayed in Disney hotels with HB.

My first trip with 2 children and 2 adults was in 2014 and that was £440 incl transport (ferry) for 3 nights.

In 2016 it was £600 for 3 nights

In 2018 it was £644 for 2 nights

For Feb 2020 they want over £1100 for 2 nights! It's gone mad! Almost tripled in price in 6 years. Im sorry, I think the park is wonderful, but that kind of price jump is outrageous.

I agree you can see that there is a lot been invested in the parks & hotels, I still think it's a bargain for what you get just not as good a bargain as years ago.
We are going in November this year just me & my wife, six nights with HB meal plan in Cheyenne and eurotunnel for £1185 booked early last year when it was cheap. So you can grab some cheap deals if your willing to check loads of dates out before you book.
