Title: Planning a surprise trip in 2021
Post by: xlucylu89x on March 16, 2019, 03:31:47 PM
Hi all, I am planning a surprise trip for my little sister's 30th birthday in 2021! VERY EXCITED. I have decided we are going to stay at the Newport Bay Compass Club!!

Her birthday is Feb 21st. We will be going on Wednesday 26th. Has anyone been at this time of year? what is the weather like/queues like? I don't think it will be half term week so won't be AS busy.

It could be very cold.  Layers layers layers is what you need.  Did February half term last year & the year before.  Last year we had lots of snow & ice - was sub zero so it was triple socks & big coats.  We'd escape inside & take our time over lunches to escape the cold & warm up & took a flask for tea.  I'd send pics if I were able to attach them here.

Even though it was half term when we went, park was v quiet so I'm sure it will be quiet for you.  If you are a rides person, then perfect, although there are less shows & other stuff going on at that time of year.

I've been mid feb 3 times and had different weather each one - snow, mild & wet!  We like February (booked again for next year).  Book dates as early as you can, we got an amazing price for Newport Bay Compass Club, hadn't seen it as cheap ever.  Park normally shuts about 7 which means illuminations earlier, though also means not as many park hours.  But not as busy so can get plenty done and then go have evening meal and a good nights sleep.  I struggled when we did August as didn't leave park till gone 11pm.

Talking of wet, if you get a wet evening, go see Illuminations.  Normally I'm not one for standing out in the rain, but the lasers shimmer in the rain & look brilliant!  :D

and it's not normally so busy so can get there later than normal and still find a good spot :-)

Weather in February in Paris will be very similar to here. Could be rain, could be snow, could be bordering on t-shirt weather! Layers and a waterproof coat should have you covered for any eventuality. Have an amazing time!

thanks all,

Have decided to go a little earlier because of the weather really. Have managed to get a really good deal on the compass club for end of September. The schools will have just gone back so wont be too busy and the weather will be lovely hopefully. We have managed to get 25% off and a half board meal plan which is handy, save spending money and i prefer the buffet dinners as i am a fussy eater. Started the countdown on my phone 544 days..... don't want to wish my life away but hurry up lol

booked it!!! let's go now
