Title: Pre-trip poem
Post by: RockNRoller on November 10, 2018, 04:19:14 PM
I'm not going to Disney this year  :'( but my nephew is  :D. As he's such fan of the poem "The night before Christmas" I though I would write him a Disney Land Paris inspired version and then I thought why not share. If anyone wants to use this for the their own personal use please feel free to do so.

Twas the day before Disney and all around the house,
The family were packing to meet Mickey Mouse,
The suitcase all bulging stood down by the door,
Whilst Mum declares loudly "we should have packed more."

A water proof coat to ward off the rain,
And several books to read on the train.
A camera, a tripod and batteries too,
All to film Tigger and Winnie the Pooh,

A big shining castle they were hoping to see,
And Main Street, all fancy, with a huge Christmas tree,
And shops with great windows would make such a sight,
And a show round the castle would finish the night.

A ride on Buzz Lightyear with Laser to shoot,
A trip with the Pirates and great piles of loot,
Then meet with a Phantom who lives on a Hill,
A ride all in dark that you leave with a chill.

A fast roller coaster that blasts into space,
A cave with a dragon you meet face to face,
Then time for a rest with coffee and cake,
A seat in a café, our feet need a break.

Then off to A Small World and Alice's maze,
A ride on the tea cups, come off in a daze,
Pinocchio, Snow White and Peter Pans flight,
Then jump onto Dumbo and fly to a height.

Just round the corner the Studios await,
With plenty more rides through that big golden gate.
The Tower of Terror stands over it all,
A rundown hotel with a very big fall.

There's Stitch and there's Crush and Lightning McQueen,
Catastrophe Canyon just has to be seen.
We're starting to fade now cos we've done so much,
But we're here for 5 days so there's no need to rush.

With time in the Studios and time in the park
We've all had such fun and it's been a real lark
Now It's off to the hotel and time for a kip,
So to all happy memories and to all a good trip.

And to all who read the whole poem thank you and whenever your next trip may be have a good one.

Absolutely fab! You should be really proud of this. My hubby said he is impressed and that's a high compliment haha coming from him especially about Disney.

 :D :D :D :D :D :D

That's lovely - you should send it to DLP! I can imagine it as a voice-over for an advert.

What a sweet thing to do for your nephew.
