Now that we know Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is coming to WDS in the future, how long will Star Tours remain in Discoveryland?
I guess we will have to see what happens to the US versions. If they eventually get sent to Yesterland, then no doubt so will the Paris version.
If they do remove it, there's plenty of scope for the building and the land around it. Marvel is all sorted for WDS... so what could they add to Discoveryland?
I doubt they'll remove it.
There's also a Toy Story land in WDS, but Buzz is still in Discoveryland

I agree on this one. I doubt they'll remove it, especially after the upgrade it just had. The top people will have known about the expansion plans before upgrading so they probably wouldn't have done it if they thought they might take it out.
Very true on the Buzz side of things. However, what partially saves Buzz for now is that they can only use that building. Whereas Star Tours and HISTA occupy the rear of the land, and both could be removed to make way for something else.
As for Star Tours' recent refurb, it will be a distant memory (around five or six years old) by the time SW:GE opens.

Journey to the Center of the Earth. :P
Perfect fit. I loved this one in TDS.
its the same situation in Disneyland California. They are building a whole new Star Wars Land on the opposite side of the park to Tomorrowland where Star Tours is. As far as I know Star Tours is staying as it is when Star Wars Land opens in 2019
I don't see Star Tours or Buzz Lightyear going anywhere when the WDS expansion is done.

They're certainly there for now, but by the time '21 rolls around, they could be 'the next project'. :)

At least the Paris version is in a separate park, with the US ones both being in the same park makes me think they are unlikely to stay in the long term.

Good shout! It'd work well in Disco-land, and if they used ST and HISTA, there probably just enough room.
I certainly can't see them getting rid of Star Tours which is so very easy to refresh every time a new film comes out, given the future of the SW franchise as recently announced. It'd be madness to get rid of it even with a SW land.
Star Tours will 100% be staying where it is.
Vader's meet and greet will be moved though. The space is perfect for a store/food venue :P

They just added a brand new store, and there's no way that they're going to add a restaurant literally right across Hyperion. It's too close by.
I can see them keeping Vader in Discoveryland and putting Kylo or Chewie in WDS.
Oh wow, I would love to get photos with Kylo or Chewie! This expansion is just so exciting, can't wait to see how it all progresses.

They literally have stores next door to each other all around the park.
From a fan perspective the WDS expansion is a golden opportunity to get Journey to the Centre of the Earth etc and really make discovery land a cohesive area but i cant see them closing Star Tours and Buzz, i would love it if they would and add midway mania to the studios but i doubt it will happen.
We can hope though ..........
I totally agree with you. This would be the perfect opportunity to fix what is broken.
Also, I would like to see them move the Flying Carpets from the studios to Adventureland.

Yes! I know it sounds slightly stupid, but Flying Carpets annoys me so much! They literally have an Agrabah area in Adventureland! Just get rid of the Genie directing, move it over there and it's in its right place :P

I'm not sure I can think of a place it can go without ruining the landscaping. Certainly not near the existing bazaar.
Soarin over Europe would be a great replacement for ST.
I think anywhere with new lands dedicated to its franchise should not have more attractions outside of its land.

Well, it was originally intended for Adventureland. Somewhere between Hakuna Matata and the Bazaar. (my guess is the place of the waterfeature next to the HM terrace). But due to the poor range of ride offerings in the Studio's they made a last minute decision to move it over there.. That's why it's such an odd attraction. It feels totally misplaced.

^Good call on the Tapis Volents. They should take the opportunity to relocate them into Adventureland. The could even put them under a canpoy (similar to the Sultan's Carousel in TDS) just to make it a bit more thematic.
Soarin' would be a great addition to Discoveryland - maybe replacing the HISTA building.
And if not Journey, what about the other Mysterious Island attraction; 20k Leagues Under the Sea?
None of those options would be cheap, but they'd refresh Discoveryland a little bit.
On Sunday evening my husband had a ride on Star Tours in English with the Pod Racing and Gungan City scenes. When allocated to a bay the CM asked if he was English and sent him to a bay saying "Special Test"
This is the first time in months that he's seen anything other than Force Awakens and Last Jedi usually in French.
Anyone know anything about this? Are they reintroducing the older scenes? Are they trying to separate out English speaking people to go to an English version?
Cheers ;D
They should go ahead with Discovery Mountain like they originally planned and go for a full on steampunk area.
Much like Mysterious Island and Port Discovery in Tokyo DisneySea, that'll be amaaaaaaaazing!
