So, only 2 weeks to go.. I can't believe we're going back. It's been just over 2 years since we were last there, and they have been no less than horrible. Extremely long story short, I divorced my husband after our last trip in November 2014. And I never thought I would be able to return with the boys. But I have always promised them we would go for the 25th anniversary (as the 20th was our first time there) and I can't back down on that promise. It will also be DS10's birthday while we are there - last time we went, it was for DS9's birthday. So it all adds up beautifully.
This time will be very different though. As it is my first trip as a single parent, I have decided to change the hotel to NPB. We have always stayed at SF, but I need some fresh, happy memories for me and the boys this time, as last time we went with their dad, he ruined the holiday for us all.
We arrive on May 15th in the morning, I'm not telling the boys where we are staying - it will be a surprise when we have to get off the bus earlier than they expect. Thankfully the NPB is the first one we stop at, if I remember correctly.
We will then check in, sort out the meal vouchers (I am hoping to use the breakfast ones as part payment for the hotel breakfast), leave the bags and head to the village.
As we are staying 5d/4n I am banking on spending the Mon, Wed and Fri at Disneyland, and Tues and a bit of Thurs in the Studios. We are hoping to meet as many characters as possible, as that is something the boys really enjoy (any information on unscheduled meets very welcome - I have also made a post about this in the Character section).
On the Wed. it is DS10's birthday, and we will be starting off by having breakfast at Plaza Gardens, followed by lunch at Inventions. I am SOOOOO excited about this!! I can't wait. In the evening we are heading out to Billy Bobs - we have wanted to try this one since our very first trip, but for one reason or another we've not managed it till now.
We are also booked in for Plaza Gardens for dinner on the day we arrive, and Bistrot chez Remy on the Tuesday. On the Thursday we'll be paying Anette's a visit. All three places have been tried, tested and enjoyed by us before.
Main priority during the week apart from character meets are BTM as many times as entirely possible - and Ratatouille at least a couple of times. But really, I am just looking forward to being back in our little happy Disney bubble at least for a few amazing days.
Really hoping you have the best possible time! We will be there at the same time as you (arriving 17th leaving 22nd) so fingers crossed for good weather and happy experiences! We also have similar plans for dining. It's getting so close now!
Really hope you have a fantastic time and make some new memories.
We are going 29th May for 5 days with our 10yo girls. Really excited. :)
Have a lovely time!
I looke forward to your report as I'm staying in Newport Bay in June!
Have fun - and enjoy this new chapter (or is it a whole new book?) of DLP-memories with the 3 of you!
Hope you have a fantastic time and make lots of new happy memories with your children :D :D
I hope you have a magical time full of new memories to cherish for ever.
