Title: I'm back & planning a surprise Christmas trip!
Post by: 15stitch on September 19, 2016, 08:07:03 AM
Hi,

I've not been on here for a while as had post DLP blues after my May trip!

But......I'm now excitedly planning a December trip which I'm very happy about  :D

I've decided to surprise my DS for his 4th Birthday (14th December).

Initially I was going to go just overnight but when I've worked out the maths & logistics it seems silly not to go for 4 nights/ 5 days, so that's my plan!

It does seem slightly extravagant as we have already been to DLP this year & are off to WDW next April, but we are both Disney mad & as he will start school next year I'm making the most of term time holidays.

I'm rubbish at keeping surprises so not telling him will be a struggle!

Although I've been many times I am struggling to choose a hotel! I'm leaning towards Sequoia Lodge which is supposed to be lovely at Christmas, however I loved Newport Bay in May so I'm a bit torn.

Any recommendations gratefully received!

Once you get bitten by the DLP bug, there is no cure.  ;D

Perhaps you can break the news to your son like the Disney 'Yes days' advert.

I would say Sequoia Lodge. I am a bit biased as it is my favourite but it would be great at Christmas.

I have been to both during the Christmas period and both are nicely decorated, but for me the sequoia lodge has a special warm feel to it.
The log fire in the bar is great if the weather is cold. But be warned it is very easy to fall asleep while sitting on the sofas.

Thank you.

I've decided on the Sequoia Lodge for 4 nights/ 5 days.  I'm very excited.
